I visited the original location on Buford Highway when it first opened years and years ago. I was not impressed with the chicken nuggets not the bubble tea and the selection of baked goods were limited. Because of this, I never went back and didn't step foot in this location either. Until a month ago.... I think I've been there AT LEAST once a week now. The selection of baked buns are plentiful and always fresh. I have not tried all of them since I stick to my usuals. The drink menu offers a wide variety of beverages. Again, I settle for my usual. (I'm a creature of habit) The cakes. O. M. C. (Oh my cake!) They are delicious!! Sweet Hut is an addicting place! I crave their Milk Teas and Matcha Lattes. You have to cruise their bakery section because there's always interesting and creative concoctions like the micro-shredded pork sandwiches (reminds me of cotton candy pork), red bean pastries, or curry chicken turnovers. The donuts sadly were not very good and kind of tasted stale. I found some things there hit or miss. However, their strawberry mouse cake is shockingly light and refreshing. If there's two things I've ordered more than any other items it's the Bulgogi Cheesesteak Sandwich and the bacon cheese fries. They're perfect. read more

I love this place! I came to Georgia for a vacation with my family but I am currently still taking summer classes. Since I had some studying to do, I decided to come here and get some work done. I chose a few pastries and ordered a few drinks and just sat down to get some work done. The pastries were good, and the prices were not bad at all. They also have a selection of hot food like dim sum or burgers that I did not get to try. I got a hot pomegranate oolong tea, and a Thai bubble tea and a passion fruit green tea with bubbles for my sisters who were with me. The drinks all tasted great. The Thai tea was my favorite and was actually recommended to me by the cashier. The service was quick and nice as well. The wifi here is fast and I had no issues with it whatsoever. There is plenty of seating here. Towards the back there are booths that have a little privacy that are good for studying. I wish we had more places like this in Florida. Came for the assortment of sweets. Some of the pastries we tried were stale or lack luster but cool atmosphere. Love the concept just wish they tasted fresher and not dried out like packaged food. We tried the peanut butter donut, Irish cream donut, and the butter cream cupcake. read more

I've been to both the original (Buford Highway) and Midtown Sweet Hut locations - I have to say that this newest installment is quite impressive. I drove to Duluth to buy some pastries on a late Sunday afternoon. The grand opening sign is still up - and the place was packed. From an interior design standpoint, the owners planned really well. There's a huge selection of pastries, which is located off to the side to prevent obstruction of the multiple lines at the cash register. Outlets are very, very abundant. I walked around the restaurant and saw booths, tables, and even outdoor patio tables that were conveniently located near an outlet. This brings me to the next point - there's a place for everyone. If you want to hang out with a large group of friends, a small group of friends, in a sunroom, or in a booth secluded from the rest of the bakery, there's a table for you. I tested the WiFi on my phone and it immediately connected, despite the fact that the restaurant was very crowded. Overall the atmosphere is very trendy - menu items are displayed on a row of large flat screen TVs. The lines get backed up, but the cashiers are friendly. If you haven't been to any of the Sweet Hut bakeries, there are also bubble tea drinks and hot food available. The pastries are creative, fresh, and tasty. I loved their selection of pastries and their cakes were so beautiful but I didn't get one because my friend and I were still full from lunch but we grabbed one pastry each and a drink. I use to think this place was clean and good til today.. went in and got a couple Thai teas and a caramel brûlée.. as my girlfriend was eating it halfway in she seen something crawling out from the bottom .. we don't know what it is but that's just gross .. and they messed up 2 of our drink order and when we went back in there to tell them they told us it is the right drink and that they wouldn't change or fix our drinks .. A lot of bakery good and cake to pick from. I have tried different kind of bread, and they all taste so yummy. I did not try any cake from this store though. I arrived around 9pm but they were still very busy with a long line of customers. The only thing I can complain about is the lighting in the parking lot. We bought their buns and boba tea. The buns are delcious, nice and fluffy (depending on what you get). Their tea is EXTRA sweet though. I like less sweet things but still like the taste so I got 25% sweet on a mango green tea. They messed up my order and did 100% sweet. They fixed it but it was still too sweet. Idk if they use the same tea and just put more tea or something. But I can't say that it would be the consistent "25% sweetness" but if it is, it's still super sweet. While waiting to ask them to fix my drink, I overheard another customer waiting for their cake that he ordered and they didnt have it. Must've been really frustrating for the customer but the staff tried solve it by providing what they had left or providing a gift card refund. Bad mistake on the store's part but they were good in trying to handle it. Though it took a bit long and watching them run back and forth. My friends got some pastries and really liked them. My concern falls a bit on how extremely sweet my beverage was. My drink was also slightly different than what I intended to order, but it was a slightly odd but okay surprise. I ended up taking it home and adding more ice to water down my beverage. Service was prompt, the food was delicious, and the pastries were delicious! I ordered the Sweet Hut Bulgolgi Burger and it was the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. The fries were crispy and the chips were hot and had just the right amount of salt. The Macraoons were delicious along with the Japanese Cheesecake. There's plenty of seating too. This one is a newer branch - I prefer coming here, and not just because of distance: Space wise, there is much more room in general compared to their other location. The bakery area has it's own area, there is room to line up to pay/order drinks, and there is plenty of space for sitting, chatting, doing work. You can even order a wedding cake here and they have a special room for consultations! (whether or not they have a bubble tea bar catering option for weddings is yet to be seen ;) but I would be all for that!) Bubble tea/food- as I said in my other review, I love it. Bubbles are chewy, sweet, and not tough. Drinks are customizable to the sugar level, and they have a wide array of teas, slushes, etc. Their popcorn chicken treat is still a favorite of mine. Be warned, it can be very spicy! :) Pastry wise, they're pretty delicious - they're a Korean bakery though, not a Chinese bakery though, so adjust your expectations if you have a certain favorite Chinese pastry that you see something similar to! Staff is helpful, bathrooms are clean, there is plenty of organized parking (unlike their other location) - it's a popular place, and they've brought a lot of business to the plaza. I came in today for a little snack! I got the salt and pepper chicken nugget (level 3 spicy!), a matcha bun, a dried shredded pork roll, and a blueberry cream cheese muffin. All were very delicious!! If I had to change anything, it'd be the dried shredded pork roll. They use mayo to get the pork to stick to the bun, but they also put more mayo inside. In my opinion, it was tasty, but too much mayo for my liking. Other than that, I loved everything else I've eaten so far! They have tons of selections for pastries and The place itself is very relaxing. Lots of seating areas to relax and study. WiFi is provided and their music playlist is awesome! read more

The pastries are good. The milk tea is bad. I like their chicken nuggets. It excellent, but it seems like they lessen the amount of it day after day. I used to have half a box or a 3/4 box of the chicken nugget. But now they only put like a 1/4 box of chicken nuggets. read more

As Sweet Hut has expanded over the years, I'm sad to say that it's quality has declined. After multiple recent visits and disappointments I can confirm that the milk tea drinks are subpar at best now. The fruit teas are alright thankfully and the breads are good albeit not as yummy as they used to be. With the emergence of other boba franchises in the area like Gong Cha & Ding Tea and steadfast establishments like Kung Fu Tea, I don't see any reason to go to Sweet Hut unless it's for the bread or you need a place to hang out at midnight. That being said I will admit it's sad for me to say this since I've frequented this location since it first opened. read more

Stopped in here for a little desert after a big meal at the hot pot across the parking lot. After that salty binge, who doesn't need something sweet!?! Ok Ok, really I could barely breathe and someone who shall remain nameless was really excited to get there.. So I grinned and figured what's a few hundred more calories, right..? This place has a lot going on. But once I saw the donuts it was low lights and smooth R&B jams from there. I grabbed 3 different ones that I can't even remember the name of now (more on that later) and made my way to the front, locking eyes with my prey the entire way. Ordered a tall icy cold milk and warned them all the way to the table what was going to happen when daddy took a seat. Yeah, come here... big bite! Dry stale doughnut.... Disappointment, resent, depression... distant memories almost immediately. An offer to take them back to the counter for me because I couldn't bring myself to do it.. Thank God my friend was more assertive than I and we were able to trade it in for a chocolate butter cream. It was good but just didn't hit the spot. In case anyone is wondering, yes, I did make a full recovery and these days am living much happier and feeling more positive. Oh and well, eating donuts. Check this place out though, I'm sure mine was a one off. Everyone else I was with and we were a pretty large group, enjoyed their orders. They are usually packed but they have plenty of seating room and people move in and out quickly. I'm usually am able to find a spot if I'm trying to do business here or have a meeting. When we were there, the drawer that houses the donuts have flies on it and the bathroom was dirty. They have a large dining space and so many menus to choose from. I love their milk tea with boba. Tapioca is fresh and chewy except their level of sweetness is a bit more sweet than other places, so be aware! I also like their pastries because it is so fresh! A vast selection of sweet treats of various Asian ethnicities. They are so pretty and reasonably priced. They also have yummy meals. The chicken bulgogi sandwich is great!! Nice staff. The atmosphere is spacious and comfortable. It's a relaxing place. You can sit inside or outside. The outside isn't fully outside. It's tables that are outside tables like a patio would have but it's sealed with open glass and there's a door that stays open between it and the indoor seating. Been going to Sweet Hut for a long time. Used to get a few other things, but now my favorite is the pineapple bun (Hong Kong polo) and I usually only get that. Boba is pretty decent- price is comparable to other places in the area. I like their Thai iced tea and jasmine green milk tea with boba and crystal jelly. Their boba is chewy, but sometimes can be hard depending on the time of day. Their salt and pepper chicken nuggets are great. I always get medium, and it does pack some heat.
