    Cake and churros.

I got the most beautiful cake and delicious churros for my quinceañera with Sweet Land Cake. Claudia is fantastic! We always have cake left for days with other parties but her cake didn't last more than two days and we even fought for the last piece. She is an expert baker, with a great client service. She goes the extra mile to make sure you're happy with your cake. From now on whenever I need (or not ) a cake I'll be going to her. Everybody loved the taste and complemented it. I absolutely recommend her 100%

The shop has a festive, fun atmosphere, with large models of cakes decorating the interior and a ceiling with sprinkles colored onto it. There are an offering of different sandwiches and pastries, all of which promise future visits to make sure I can try them all. The service was prompt and friendly, and the welcoming smiles from behind the counter warmed the shop immediately. The staff were incredibly friendly and pleasant, and my food was ready quickly. On what will be my first if many visits I ordered a Cubano sandwich and cannoli, both of which were terrific. The melted cheese on the sandwich united and amplified the savory meats, which were toasted to perfection. The cannoli bread was flaky with a subtle sweetness and the custard was rich and creamy.

I was frantically looking for a birthday cake for my sisters 30th birthday with only a 24hr notice. I called so many bakeries in my area and was told it would be impossible to get a cake done for 50 people within that time frame. I called "Sweet Land Cake" and it was possible! I was greeted with kindness without having to share my story, my service mattered . I texted a picture and requested a filling with a confetti batter and was given options on sizes . This bakery was fully stocked , the picture of the cake I sent had an assortment of different flowers on a lavender cake with a gold drizzle and this bakery had it all ! All I had to do was place my order and pay half down and pay the rest during pick up . My sister absolutely loved her custom cake and I received so many compliments from our guests for the bakery. They have an assortment of treats that I can't wait to visit again to try ! The ambiance is welcoming and the people here are so nice . I know where my family will be getting our cakes from , with more notice next time.

In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. We will return for some more flaky, apple-y goodness. The webpage makes mymouth water. I see many items are normal and mini sized. Great idea Dawn.

We've worked our way through what feels like almost the entire dessert case over the years, and I can honestly say I've yet to find something I didn't love. Every pastry is beautifully crafted, incredibly fresh, and tastes like it was made with so much care. This visit was all about the cannoli, and let me just say... craving officially satisfied! The shell had that perfect crisp snap, while the filling was silky, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. It was everything I had been dreaming about and then some. Walking into The Sicilian Baker always feels like stepping into a little slice of Italy. Between the gorgeous display of desserts and the irresistible aroma of fresh pastries, it's nearly impossible to leave with just one treat (don't say I didn't warn you! ). Whether you're stopping in for a post-dinner dessert, celebrating something special, or simply giving in to a sweet tooth like I did, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Every dessert we've tried has been phenomenal, and this cannoli was another delicious reminder of why we keep coming back. Sweet craving? Check. Happiness? Double check.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. In fact, all of the desserts I've had here over the years have been quite good.
