    Cake and churros.

I got the most beautiful cake and delicious churros for my quinceañera with Sweet Land Cake. Claudia is fantastic! We always have cake left for days with other parties but her cake didn't last more than two days and we even fought for the last piece. She is an expert baker, with a great client service. She goes the extra mile to make sure you're happy with your cake. From now on whenever I need (or not ) a cake I'll be going to her. Everybody loved the taste and complemented it. I absolutely recommend her 100%

The shop has a festive, fun atmosphere, with large models of cakes decorating the interior and a ceiling with sprinkles colored onto it. There are an offering of different sandwiches and pastries, all of which promise future visits to make sure I can try them all. The service was prompt and friendly, and the welcoming smiles from behind the counter warmed the shop immediately. The staff were incredibly friendly and pleasant, and my food was ready quickly. On what will be my first if many visits I ordered a Cubano sandwich and cannoli, both of which were terrific. The melted cheese on the sandwich united and amplified the savory meats, which were toasted to perfection. The cannoli bread was flaky with a subtle sweetness and the custard was rich and creamy.

I was frantically looking for a birthday cake for my sisters 30th birthday with only a 24hr notice. I called so many bakeries in my area and was told it would be impossible to get a cake done for 50 people within that time frame. I called "Sweet Land Cake" and it was possible! I was greeted with kindness without having to share my story, my service mattered . I texted a picture and requested a filling with a confetti batter and was given options on sizes . This bakery was fully stocked , the picture of the cake I sent had an assortment of different flowers on a lavender cake with a gold drizzle and this bakery had it all ! All I had to do was place my order and pay half down and pay the rest during pick up . My sister absolutely loved her custom cake and I received so many compliments from our guests for the bakery. They have an assortment of treats that I can't wait to visit again to try ! The ambiance is welcoming and the people here are so nice . I know where my family will be getting our cakes from , with more notice next time.

Everyone was friendly, polite, and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I tried the Strawberry Cheesecake and the Key Lime Cheesecake, and both were absolutely delicious. The cheesecake was rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being overly heavy. It's easy to see why this place has such great reviews. If you're looking for quality cheesecake and outstanding customer service, I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Let's start with what they absolutely nailed, the cheesecake. This is the reason people keep coming…read moreback. It's smooth, rich without being too heavy, and the flavor actually develops as you eat it instead of just being one-note sweet. You can tell they take this part seriously. Leave it outside the fridge for an hour and watch that cheesecake melt on your tongue crystals (if you have the patience for that) Their rotating monthly flavors keeps things interesting, and you're not just stuck with the same lineup every time. Out of what I tried, the banana pudding one was easily a standout--super nostalgic, creamy, and just done right without being overly sweet. The coconut one was also up there, more subtle but still really clean and flavorful. Love me some coconut! They also have a punch card system--buy 9 slices, get the 10th free--which is a nice touch. It lowkey turns into a mission because once you've tried one flavor, you kinda want to work your way through all of them anyway. Now...the downside. The customer service just isn't great. It's not aggressive or anything, just noticeably lacking. There's not much warmth or engagement--it feels pretty transactional. For a place that clearly puts effort into their product, you'd expect at least a baseline level of hospitality, and it's just not really there. So overall, if you're going to Banhams, go for the cheesecake. The rotating flavors keep it fresh, the quality is legit, and it's definitely worth trying. Just don't expect much from the service side, and you'll enjoy it a lot more.

So the first time I had went we were going out of town and I dropped off a pocket cake for my sister in law that lives in Buckeye. She said she absolutely loved it. I never got to try it. So i went a second time to order it again and was told they don't have any. Okay...great. So i did a comparison with other places that have similar size tres leches cakes available such as: food city, frosted bakehouse, hunnie butter, crumbl, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and a tres leches cake i made. I'd rather support small businesses to be honest. So was really hoping to snag a cake from here. But not a full size because this was merely for experimenting purposes. Why get a full size when you aren't sure if you are going to like it?? So i posted about our outcomes on my foodie instagram page. The business told me to try the pocket cake but I already am fully aware but was told by the man working that day they don't have them. Which wasn't the same as the ladies working on my first visit. So now i almost want to try calling around to other locations regardless of how convenient this location is being across from my son's school. Just hoping for a pocket cake and better service because service was non existent my second time. Like would have been nice to have any kind of information like oh sorry we don't have them today but try next week or we won't ever have them again try another store???

Some of my favorites were the lemon blueberry olive oil mini pastry, the berry crumble cake and the caramel macaroon. My son enjoyed the blueberry muffin for breakfast and although we were eating breakfast at The Coronado, the owners own both establishments, so we could bring the pastries to our table. I also left my breakfast at The Coronado to go back to Dark Hall because I learned they were going to have cinnamon rolls at 10am, which was in a few minutes! That roll was also amazing! I ordered off the seasonal menu and I didn't end up liking my drink, it sounded good but the flavors didn't work for me. I had the strawberry fields iced latte with oat milk. Not sure what about it didn't work. However, my guy ordered a lightly sweetened iced matcha latte with oat milk and it was perfect. So, when I go back and order a drink I like better, I'll update from 4 to 5 stars. And sounds like I messed up by not getting anything from the pastry case. Next time!! Dark Hall is a cool, friendly, local vegan coffee shop I'm glad I came in to support.

A Hidden Gem Worth the Drive!…read more I had the most amazing chicken dinner at Caribbean Palms! The chicken was incredibly tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, with just the right amount of spice. The rice was absolutely delicious, and the plantains were cooked to perfection. What truly made the experience exceptional was the outstanding customer service. We interacted with three different staff members during our visit, and every single one was warm, welcoming, polite, and genuinely kind. You can tell they take pride in both their food and hospitality. I drove over 30 minutes from the other side of town to dine here, and it was worth every minute of the drive. There was a steady stream of customers picking up to-go orders, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. While takeout is clearly popular, I highly recommend dining in and enjoying the full experience. This family-owned restaurant is a true hidden gem, and honestly, it serves the best Caribbean food I've ever had. I will absolutely be back and will be recommending Caribbean Palms to everyone I know!

I recently visited Caribbean Palms and walked away with mixed feelings…read more First off, the service was great. The woman kept checking on me, and I actually liked that the cook brings out the food that's a nice personal touch you don't see everywhere. That said, the portions were underwhelming. I understand it leans more toward a dine-in experience, but the oxtail serving felt small. The presentation almost plays tricks on you it comes on a large plate with separate bowls for the sides, which makes it look like more than it actually is. On top of that, having to choose between cabbage or plantains felt a bit limiting for sides. The rice was a little dry and slightly hard for my taste, but I will say the plantains were really good sweet and done right. I couldn't help but compare it to another Caribbean spot I recently tried in Glendale, where the portions were generous and the oxtail was big, tender, and full of flavor. Here, the flavor was good, but it didn't stand out. I've definitely had better, so my expectations were a bit higher. Overall, it's not a bad spot it just feels pricey for what you get. I spent around $60 total: two cocktails at $15 each, plus the oxtail at market price (which can run $30-$40). The biggest plus is convenience it's close to home, so it's an easy option when I'm craving Jamaican food. But if I'm being honest... next time, I might still find myself making that drive back out to Glendale.
