I can't tell if i liked my cupcake or hated it, so we'll just go right down the middle. I came here before driving back to Vegas and was amazed at the row of flavors they had. While the cashier didn't care if I lived or died after I told her how hard the decision was of choosing a pastry, i settled on a regular vanilla with vanilla icing. The crumb reminded me of the heavy butter cake from Mastro's. Kinda like cornbread if you've never had their butter cake. I prefer my cupcake slightly less dense. The frosting was good but felt like it didn't go well with the cake for some reason. After looking at the photo I took i wish i had leaned for a more adventurous flavor, but I'm just thankful I didn't get their gluten free/vegan option on accident!

Cookies were very fresh and tasty. Cute little bakery with various options. We did go very late in the day so some things were sold out but they still had a decent selection.

I love this place, they are very delicious and not too sweet. My fav is the churro cake, I always get it for my bday and everyone loves it!! I wanna try the chocolate one but I am always biased. I have had their cupcakes and cookies as well and they are excellent too. Def one of the best places in Phoenix for great desserts :)

I haven't been to urban cookies in a long time, but I was in the area and so I picked up a few treats! I got the orange cupcake, strawberry cupcake, and chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was good, but it wasn't my favorite out of the three. The cupcakes were both really good! I loved the strawberry flavor and filling, and the frosting on the orange cupcake was delicious. I wish I lived closer, but will keep them in mind if I go back to that area!

This place was awesome! Lots of dessert options including cupcakes, cookies and some other yummy looking snacks. I tried one of the margarita cupcakes, a seasonal flavor, and it was delicious! The icing was creamy and the cupcake had actual tequila in it too! The cowboy cookie was also very tasty, the kettle potato chips were definitely a fun addition. Everyone working was nice and helped answer all of my questions. The shop is small, a pick up and go situation. I can't wait to visit again soon!

Went here on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened. The space is small and comfy. It's very welcoming and the desserts are on full display as soon as you walk in. They are stunning. Staff is sweet. I got the brown sugar grapefruit cupcake and banana coconut cupcake. Both of them were PHENOMENAL. The frosting was a little sweet for my liking and there's a lot of it, but that's an easy fix and a personal preference so I just scraped it off. The cakes were so moist and just... mouthwatering. I'm still thinking about them and will be back in before the grapefruit one is off the menu since it's a special. Note that it is easy to miss the turn into their lot but there is plenty of parking once you get back there.

I've had Urban Cookies dozens of times in my life -- literally have had just about every staple cupcake, cookie, and dessert bar on the menu -- and I can confirm: They do not miss. My favorite thing about this shop? The basics are done incredibly well. Some of my favorite items -- like the milk & dark chocolate cookie and birthday cupcake (chocolate buttercream on vanilla cake) -- are among the best I've had locally. The salted caramel nut bar is also criminally underrated. That said, don't sleep on their more creative flavors. When their tomato soup and grilled cheese cupcakes rolls around, be sure to try it -- it's surprisingly delightful. Staff members are always so friendly, and parking is always available in the back since it's mostly a stop-and-go place. Will be back, of course!

The gluten free brownies are amazing!! I tried Urban Cookies over a year ago and didn't really enjoy what I ordered. Tried it again recently and enjoyed it much more :) I tried the brownie and strawberry cupcake because they were gluten free. Too much frosting for me but I just scraped the extra off. Very sweet but not sickeningly. I also sampled the orange olive oil and thought was was pretty good too. They have yesterday's baked goods for half off. I think it's a pretty good deal but haven't tried it because no guarantee it's gluten free. The staff could use some training. The woman helping me couldn't answer any of my questions and became annoyed and dismissive. Not great customer service and not impressive as the face of the establishment.

Been to the other location but this time stopped by the Phoenix shop. So many options but was in the mood for a few cupcakes. Really delicious and super fresh. I ate one that day and the other a day later and it still tasted fresh like the first day.

Urban Cookies Bakeshop in Phoenix, AZ smells amazing as soon as you walk in. They clearly love what they do and use great stuff. Easy to find location for the kids and I since we were visiting from out of town. Their cupcakes are famous for a reason. Each one tastes incredible and is super moist. Don't forget the cookies, too. They're soft, chewy, and just right. Plus, they have tasty vegan and gluten-free options that are just as good. We purchased a wide variety of sweets and were so pleased by the flavor combinations. The people who work there are nice, helpful, and patient. It's a great spot to grab a quick treat or something special. Urban Cookies Bakeshop is a must-visit in Phoenix. You won't regret treating yourself!

This place is absolutely magical. From the moment I walked in, I was completely captivated by the stunning cupcake display--it was almost too beautiful to eat (almost!). I had to snap a photo because everything looked like it belonged in a dessert gallery. I stopped by on my birthday to pick up a batch to share with my family, and I couldn't have made a better choice. The cupcakes were incredibly moist, and the cupcake-to-icing ratio was perfection. The flavors were rich but not overpowering--just the right balance that makes each bite memorable. It honestly made my birthday even sweeter. I'm already excited to go back and try even more flavors. If you're looking for a treat that looks just as good as it tastes, this spot is a must.

Ask the Community - Urban Cookies Bakeshop - Phoenix

    What is parking like?

There's a small parking lot in the back of the bakery with numbered spots of you want to have your items brought to you. Just follow the instructions they have posted. Or you can park and walk inside.

Yelp just promoted your donuts today, but last week I was told you discontinued the donuts back in April. Are you getting them back? Asking bc this was the only place to get a good GF donut and I'm so sad.

They discontinued donuts! ☹️ try Knead Love Bakery for GF goodies!!

I understand you won the competition on cupcake wars. I don't see any of the winning cupcakes on your menu. I was gonna order some, but they are not there. Will you be selling them again?

For many years we did offer the winning cupcakes during August when we initially won, however we no longer offer them on our menu.

Do you still offer Happy Hour?

Unfortunately we discontinued that during the pandemic and we don’t have plans to resume happy hour.

Hello. Do you make customized cookies for a party or baby shower?

Unfortunately we don’t do anything custom. You might try A Bakeshop at 16th St & Bethany Home Rd.

    Do you have Gluten-free products?

Yes! They have gluten free cookies, cupcakes and donuts. Very good. Check out their websites. It shows which are GF.

What time is your happy hour tomorrow?

Hello, our happy hour is Sundays 3p to 4p, Mondays & Tuesdays 5p to 6p. Sorry, we don’t offer happy hour tomorrow.

Do you make cakes? Full sheets.?

So sorry we missed this question! The best place to see our cakes options is on our website under Menu then go to cakes. We don’t offer sheet cakes. Just 5”, 6”, and 9” round cakes that are two layer.

Hello! How much are the cupcakes per dozen?

Hi Brenna! Our cupcakes are vary in price from $3.59 (for our everyday cupcakes) to $3.79 (for gluten free, vegan, or specialty cupcakes), so depending on how many of each you get, a dozen will be between $46.78 and $49.39.

Do they still sell orange blossom cupcake?

Hi there! We will bring the Orange Blossom Cupcake back as a seasonal offering. This means it is not a part of our daily selection, but stay tuned to our social media pages…

Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover. We will return for some more flaky, apple-y goodness. The webpage makes mymouth water. I see many items are normal and mini sized. Great idea Dawn.

Have a meal at The Sicilian Butcher and then follow that up with dessert at The Sicilian Baker. There are several locations in town, with this one being in North Phoenix. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Thursday. Parking tends to be busy in their complimentary lot, but you'll find a spot. Ambiance (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is connected to The Sicilian Butcher. It's a small bakery, with only a few seats. More of a grab-and-go type of spot or the source of your dessert if you're dining at the restaurant. While small, the decor and ambiance is nice. Service (3/5): A little bit of bad luck, but on my most recent visit, they were having trouble with their refrigeration so no gelato was available. While interacting with the staff, it was an average experience. I will say that the service was much better in the restaurant. Drinks (N/A): I only got dessert, but they do have coffee and a few other beverages available. Food (4/5): The Sicilian Baker is known for its cannolis, tiramisu, gelato, and lobster claws (dessert, not real lobster haha). On my most recent visit, I had a cannoli. They have your classic cannoli but also a nice variety of other fillings including pistachio, Reese's, and more. A+ for creativity, though I decided to stick with the classic. Solid. I can't speak on the customer service as we never left our table and our waited just walked over and got what we needed. We were pretty stuffed from our massive meal, but we decided on sharing a cup of gelato just to satisfy our sweet tooth. I peeked inside as our table was right at a little walkway from the restaurant to the bakery. Gelato is just one of many things they serve here. They also have all your typical Italian desserts. Cakes like tiramisu, pastries like Italian flag cookies, cookies like Italian wedding cookies, cannolis of different varieties, and of course gelato. What was suggested to us if we wanted gelato was the hazelnut flavor. I was expecting a little cup for the 6 of us just to get a taste, but what he brought over was a massive serving. I don't know how many scoops it was or even how much we even paid, but we all got plenty with some even left behind. Now this gelato was life changing. Probably the best I've had in the states. I know it's gotta be way better in Italy, but I'll take what I can when I can. Think of a Ferrero Rocher but in gelato form. It was delicious and I couldn't get enough of it. It wasn't overly sweet and it had a little crunch with bits of chocolate and hazelnuts. My sweet tooth was extremely satisfied after having dessert here. I have literally been thinking about that gelato since I left Phoenix. Luckily this company has locations in Texas so I will definitely be seeking out this gelato soon.
