Came here when I was visiting Old Saybrook for the day; definitely a hidden gem in a quaint town. The frozen yoghurt is very rich a tasteful, with each flavor actually tasting like their description. The toppings too were very good and had a large selection of them. The price was reasonable too, with members of my party managing to split one amongst two people for about $8. The service was very nice as well. I had never been to a self serve place before and the employee kindly explained how the system worked. They were very nice to customers. The ambiance was very nice with both indoor and outdoor seating. Only issue is that they do not have any accessible restrooms for the public, which was the only downside to stopping there. I believe this is one of the only self serve places that made it through the pandemic. Very glad they did as they have been a staple in Old Saybrook for quite a while. A great and delicious option for dessert. Place is very clean! There are hand sanitizing stations at the door and right before you grab your cup and start choosing your flavors and goodies. Most of the toppings are in dispensers or are covered with lids. They have a good sized selection of topping options. The standards sprinkles, cookie and candy bits, fudge, peanut butter, and fruity boba as well! If you think toppings are the best part of a sundae, then this is your spot. They have a few tables inside and outside. It is always hopping in the summer but they are open year round if you need your sweet tooth fix at any point! read more

I agree with Cassie, the employees who work here could use a slight attitude adjustment. Correction; not all of them, just one of them. I've been a repeat customer of Sweet Luna's over the years and during my last visit the girl with the acne scarred face gave me an attitude like you wouldn't believe. When I asked for the restroom key, she didn't look at me. She simply continued sweeping the floor with her head pointed down (pretending like she didn't hear me). Only when I said I was a paying customer did she lift her head, make eye contact, and hand over the key. I don't have a problem with their customers-only policy for their restroom. It makes sense. I agree with it. But I do have a problem with their presumptuous attitude that everyone who asks for the key is a non-paying customer. That's simply not true. I purchased a lot of frozen yogurt that night. I purposely stopped at the Bank of America ATM beforehand to withdraw cash for my late night snack. I did not walk inside the shop with the sole intention of using their restroom. Like I said, I've been a repeat customer over the years. But my last visit left a real sour taste in my mouth. I may not be a repeat customer much longer if that kind of attuitude becomes the new norm inside this place. read more

I learned about this place about a year and a half ago, and since then, it has become my favorite bubble tea place! They have a wide variety of flavors (even though I usually just get the same one every time) and the prices are about the same as any other bubble tea place you go to. So far, I've been to a bunch of other bubble tea places since I've moved to Hartford, but I always find myself coming down to Old Saybrook because Sweet Luna's has one of the best milk teas I've ever had. The deal is you can serve your own yogurt with any and off of the toppings your little heart desires and then you pay per weight for your custom concoction. I shared a yogurt with my two year old and he was thrilled about putting m&ms on his yogurt because they are favorite and I was happy because I got a little something of what I liked too. I'm a huge fan of this place. Everyone always tells me how good Pinkberry is, but it doesn't even hold a candle to Sweet Luna's in my opinion. This is a little kid's (or my, a 26 year old) dreams come true. You go in, get a big cup, fill it with however much yogurt of whatever flavor you want, then you walk down the row of delicious toppings (chocolate, broken up candy bars, fruit, hot fudge, whipped cream) and add whatever you want. Their yogurt is delicious and they always have really great flavors. You pay by the ounce, and it's not inexpensive, and it just gets more expensive because you can't keep yourself from adding more toppings :) For 4 of us, we'll spend around $25. When we're visiting people in Old Saybrook, we'll regularly go to Sweet Luna's for dinner. Amazing. Highly recommend, you can't help but have fun while you're there. read more

I am a frozen-yogurt FAN! I was excited to stop at this new shop in Old Saybrook. Although I loved the California citrus yogurt I selected and my husband liked the yogurt flavor/toppings he selected, the price was a bit too high for a simple treat. You pay per ounce, however they deduct the weight of the one-size-fits-all cup you put your fro-yo into. We did not even fill half the cup with yogurt, yet we paid over $14 for the 2 cups! I had no toppings on mine; my husband put a few strawberries and blueberries on his. Good quality, fairly high price. read more

This place is way too freezing and the ice cream is so over priced that I had to take a second mortgage out on my house to pay for. I went here with my friend and got what we thought was a small amount of ice cream but somehow it amounted to 17 dollars! Maybe the scale is rigged or something... on top of this the ice cream that came out of the machine at first was closer to water and even after that it was too runny and maybe more appropriate to be served as a smoothie. Great frozen yogart that is apparently either fat free (vanilla) or low fat (several other flavors). That is BEFORE you add the toppings. It sure doesn't taste fat free. They have some delightful flavors even without putting toppings on. The only reason I don't give this five stars is the cost. It's not inexpensive. Comparitively speaking, you can buy two similarly sized ice creams at the other soft serve ice cream place in town for less than half the price of Sweet Luna's. Those of you familar with Saybrook know where it is, it's the one where all the little league players go after a game. Additionally, Sweet Luna's only offers one cup size... Large. Anyway, that doesn't stop me from going here because the "screem" is good. Business seems to be pretty good every time I go....
