I found this restaurant randomly as we drove from Vermont to Portland. This is the kind of find that I love - a local diner/cafe off the beaten path. If you find yourself in Sanford, this is a place that is a good find. The menu contains all of the breakfast and lunch standards. Breakfast is available until 2:00 pm, which is when the restaurant closes, so everything on the menu is sold from opening to close. My wife had the waffles ($4.99) and bacon. The bacon was crispy, but the waffles had a softer than usual (for us) texture. I'm not sure if that's normal, or just the batter and cooking that Sweet Memories does. However, it was tasty and she enjoyed it. I ordered the cleverly named "Big Breakfast" (8.89) that included: Three eggs served with two pieces, bacon, two sausages, a half slice a ham with home fries and your choice of toast or an English Muffin. The quality of the food is good and the prices are an amazingly good value. I'm sure that this same meal back home in Minneapolis would be more $15 for the Big Breakfast and $12 for the waffles and bacon. The service was a bit sluggish, but all in all, fine. I would love for a second location to open in Minneapolis, Minnesota, complete with the Sanford, Maine prices. read more

Staff is always super sweet and fast. The restaurant is always cleaned and well managed. The food is great for breakfast food. Great prices.

Service was slow but that could be because it was busy or they're short handed, I never saw anyone just standing around. It was busy, and I've heard many good things about this restaurant. The decor was cute and homey. I was not very impressed with my food. I ordered a kielbasa omelette with home fries and grilled English muffin. I don't know what they cooked the food in, some oil or butter, I don't know, but whatever that was, I did not like. I am not picky by any stretch of the imagination, but there was a flavor in all the food that just did not taste good. I couldn't finish any part of my breakfast. read more

Three star diner serving greasy spoon classics - we had decent hash, kielbasa, home fries and sausage gravy but there's nothing creative or homemade on the menu. Other spots near by make their own breads and muffins... Food aside, they lose a star due to the fact it took over TWO hours to get our meals while staff stood around doing nothing. I can't imagine I haven't posted a review for Sweet Memories yet. This is always my go to spot for breakfast. I live within walking distance. I can walk to breakfast if my body is having a great day otherwise I drive. When I walk inside the ladies always welcome us with a huge smile. The food is always on point, price is perfect. My favorite part about coming here is the restaurant reminds me of Cheers everyone knows you - maybe not by name but by face. The signs on the wall are fun. If you come in - in a crappy mood I always leave smiling. If a waitress is in a blah mood I bet you can give them smiles for miles. I just love these ladies and their hard work. First time at Sweet Memories. All the staff , food and service were excellent . I had a half an order of Eggs Benedict. It was cooked just the way I asked and came with delicious hash browns. My husband enjoyed his bacon and eggs. Never had to ask for a coffee refill even though the waitresses were all busy. Very reasonable!! 1/23/2023 UPDATE- The owner reached out on our Facebook review and kindly offered to refund our bill. I commend them for doing so and rectifying our experience. ---------------- Went here today for the first time for breakfast. My fiancé and I went in, and waited a few minutes to be seated. A server pointed and told us where to sit. We did so. 15 minutes went by, and no one came to give us menus. 2 sets of other diners walking in after us were being taken care of. Just when we were ready to leave, a server came. She gave us menus and took our drink order. 10 minutes go by, and our server finally comes back with our drinks, and takes our order. Both of us order omelets, home fries and Texas toast. We sipped on our drinks, and chatted for a bit. About 15-20 minutes later our food arrives. I asked our server for another drink since it was almost gone. She said she would be right back with it. Unfortunately she never came back with it. My drink empty, his coffee empty. We dug in. Immediately I was turned off. The home fries were rock hard, and cold. Felt like they had been sitting. The toast, hard. The omelet was good, cooked well and good flavor. Second time I have been in in the last few weeks. Same result. Given a table, watched as the 2 waitresses waited on tables and looked busy but did not come over to our table in 15 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes with no menu, we left. So much for customer service. Not sure why people keep coming here. read more

Ate there this morning for first time. Ordered eggs Benedict with bacon and asked for Hollandaise on the side. Place was 75% full. Meal came with eggs way overcooked. No one checked to see how my meal was or if I needed anything else. Waited a while to get check. Very disappointed. read more

Not sure about the food but was sadly disappointed by the greeting we received on a busy Sunday morning. I get what it is like to be busy but no need to be abrupt when customers come in . This morning my husband and I drove from New Hampshire to have breakfast early. We saw this place and decided this was the place we were going to stop. Breakfast was good but a little plain. My only complaint would be that when I got my side of bacon there was so much grease on the plate. I would ask that it be drain before serving. read more

This place was great! I want to talk about the positives first because they far out weigh the negative. The service was quick and very friendly. The food was excellent! I asked for my hash browns to be crispy and they were. The veggie omelet I had was huge and one of the most well, uniformly folded ones ever. In addition to cheese inside, some cheese was decoratively placed on top. All the veggies inside were fresh. My daughter had a hash omelet the hash was a little mushy. Nothing wrong with it, we are just a family that likes our crispy no matter on the side or inside and we didn't think to ask for it to be done crispy like we usually do when a side. They were also very respectful of Covid prevention practices. Tables were very well spaced and all staff wore their masks correctly. The only negative was how sticky the place was. Our table had just been wiped before we sat down. In addition to being wet, it was sticky. We thought once it dried that would help but it was still a little on the sticky side. I went to the rest room before leaving. I had sneakers on and could tell the floor was very sticky. If not for the stick factor I would have given this 5 stars. We went bere for breakfast recentlt as a familt and it left us with anythibg but Sweet Memories, unfortunately. We were put near the back, which alone is no big deal, however it quickly became clear we were going to be waiting a while. We finally got our food ordered and then it took a very long time to get it, despite the restaurant being far from busy. We get our food and soon realize my husband didn't get what he ordered. Our waitress didn't come back for over 15 minutes, yet we saw her visit the tables in the front 4-5 times during this wait. By the time she came my toddler had finished eating so there really wasn't time to fix my husbands meal. They offered no discount, minimal apology for the mistake, and no apology for the insane wait. Ordered a single Belgian waffle and instead received two regular waffles covered in a burnt crust. The same burnt crust was also on the bacon. This means they must of taken a frozen waffle and heated it on the same cooktop the waffle was on. It also means the stove is not cleaned regularly. My father had ordered another side of bacon and it didn't come with the first round. When it came 15 minutes later it was very underdone. Wish I could of taken a picture of the waffles but they were removed from the table before I got a chance. Had been here before and it had been okay but will not be back. read more

I came here while visiting some friends in the neighborhood. I'm a total breakfast enthusiast, so I'm always down to try the local spot. First, the place is immaculate. Everything is tidy, looks new, and the dining area is spacious. It still manages to have a cozy vibe. The wait staff are friendly, and pretty quick to get to you. I got scrambled eggs with kielbasa and rye toast and home fries. I ate everything. The portions are generous, and everything is perfectly cooked. The food is delicious. Great breakfast option in Sanford. More seating than most breakfast spots in the greater Sanford-Springvale area. Clean, fresh, and spartan interior, including booths and tables. Big selection of standards and numerous specials. They will graciously cook to order when you request options off the menu. My omelette was well executed. It was large, holding lots of veggies with a thin egg wrapping. The coffee was rich and smooth, as good as any you can get at the high priced coffee places. The staff was numerous, attentive, and super friendly. They were on the mark keeping the coffee and waters filled. They seemed genuinely interested in making us happy patrons. We really felt at home and the staff deserves most of the credit. If you value "good", and "fancy" is not so important, you will love this place. We'll be back! read more

We went for breakfast ordered 3 meals food was ok but the concern was a hair in my sons plate I took his plate and gave him mine when server came back showed her the hair she apologized and took the plate when she returned with the bill she said they took $3 off his meal didn't offer to remake or anything so ended up paying for food that couldn't and shouldn't have been eaten I was shocked she said it's out of my hands and she was shocked I didn't tip I don't ever right reviews and I know COVID has wrecked havoc on mom and pops stores but if their not concerned about getting hair in your food it scares me to think what is actually going on in that kitchen very scary thought read more

We stopped in here while taking the scenic route back home from Maine. Everything about the place was alright-- nothing bad to note, but nothing special either. The menu is basic American breakfast and lunch fare at adequate prices. I politely voiced concerns over the food quality and was immediately dismissed. I later tried to call to speak with a manager and another waitress who answered the phone told me he was too busy to take calls. I will not be returning. This place is great! Located on Main St. Right in front of police station. I went first for breakfast which was served very quickly and cooked perfect. I have been back for lunch and it was just as good. The staff are so nice and the prices are more than fair. I also love the decor especially the old Pepsi machine!!! read more
