If you're headed through N. Berwick or just in town Allard's is a great little convenient store with great selection of sandwiches, pizza, drinks and grab-n-go items. For me nothing anywhere beats their breakfast pizza. I've referred many people there over the years. Friends have asked what is on it... Lots of ham, bacon and sausage crumbles. Just the slightest amount of red sauce, cheese and a decent amount of egg. I got 2 burgers - they were good. A little high for a plain burger. You pay on the computer that asks if you want to tip. A young kid was working & watched me sizing me up to see if I was going to tip him for a 3 minute transaction. It was uncomfortable. I didn't & he said nothing . I thanked him & I could tell he was unhappy. No Thankyou or goodbye. Nothing. I do not like this pressure. The owners like this set up because it saves them $$ not having to give raises. I tip very generously to a waitress who's making $2.00 an hour & works hard. He just stood there I was in & out in 4 mins tops. This is ridiculous I'm not working I don't eat out much anymore this kid is making more $$ than me. But he's young & just thinking about himself. read more

This use to be our go-to place for pizza, we thought it was the best in town. Something has changed recently. The last two times getting pizza were disappointing. I'm not sure if the staff has changed, and they need more training on how to cook pizza? I can't say enough GOOD things about this little local gem. After 7 years living in the neighboring town & working in the opposite diRection I never gave this place a thought until I began to drive by it daily. After being disappointed with the other close by options I gave this place a shot. My first but was a steak bomb and let's just say it was a beast... full of meat, veggies and cheese on a sub roll that could actually handle the contents. I approved an bd went back a week or so later for an Italian... which I think already won me over due to NOT having lettuce on it... Italians DONT have lettuce! It was a hearty sub, with a good ratio of fixings. Two for two. Next up ... pizza. I will say not my favorite pizza but still good, they use a lot of cheese which isn't my jam, yet wat better than other local places. So at this point I've become a regular (over weeks mind you) & have not been disappointed yet. Also - the staff A++! I am always greeted kindly and told thank you & it appears the staff actually enjoys their place of employment... this speaks volumes! Keep up the good work team! read more

Great small town store that has a larger than expected menu of options from hot and cold sandwiches, burgers, chicken fingers, salads and pizza. They are best known for their pizza and for good reason. They pizzas are reasonably priced, not super greasy and ready in a short time. read more

Best subs in York County. Very well proportioned, not missing out on the meats here. The sub rolls are ever so soft & don't fall apart. Still have to try their steakbombs but I'm sure those are just as oversize & tasteful as the rest. read more

Allards makes the best calzones ever! Every time we have gotten them, they are by far superior than any place else. Always fully loaded with tasty ingredients! We don't do take out often but when we do it's allards! Anyways! Last night we got an order for delivery. Usually the hubby orders it but he was still driving home so he had me order it. I'm thinking it may have been poor reception on my part but everything in our order was once again perfect except one calzone... mine. Well by the time we got the food in the house and looked it over and I had realized the mistake, the store was closed for the night. I couldn't eat mine because it had an item I was allergic to. I had ordered it without but didn't specify my allergy like the hubby usually does so it was definitely my bad there. So I called the next morning and explained what had happened and asked if I could exchange the wrong one for a correct one. As a good business does, they apologized and made it right 100%. Even told me to keep the other one which the kids will love for leftovers! I appreciated the respectful conversation and whomever I spoke with was completely awesome! If you were the owner, you are fabulous! If it was an employee, you deserve a bonus!!!! I will continue recommending allards and definitely plan on letting everyone I know what a pleasure it is getting takeout/delivery from the best place around!!! Five stars all the way! read more
