Elise was an absolute dream to work with. She is incredibly thoughtful, creative, and detail oriented. We came to Elise with a vague idea of what we wanted for our wedding invitations (e.g., duograms incorporating puzzles) and a style (e.g., fun and whimsical) and she translated that into a beautiful invitation suite that we absolutely adore. She took the time to get to know us, helped brainstorm initial ideas, and involved us in each step of the creative process - sending us sketches and mockups, incorporating our feedback, and continuously refining until the final product was something even better than we could have envisioned. If that wasn't enough, Elise handled all of the printing (including hand-tearing the edges of our inviations), assembly, and mailing of our invitation suites without a hitch. We loved our invitations so much we also asked Elise to design and print all of our day-of stationery. There were a lot of different pieces (welcome signs, bar menu, escort cards, place cards, etc.) but they turned out just as good (if not even better) than the invitations. Our favorite pieces included custom illustrations (including fun hidden easter eggs). Everything arrived in perfect condition, organized neatly, and thoughtfully packaged. Everyone knows that planning a wedding is overwhelming and expensive. Elise at Sweet Penelope was my saving grace when it came to all things paper-related for our wedding. We had definite ideas about colors but were lost and overwhelmed when it came to design, font, style, etc. Elise essentially "interviewed" my husband and I and came up with designs to suite our personality and style - and we loved everything she suggested! Sweet Penelope created our save-the-dates, invitations, RSVP cards, menus, programs, and table assignments (which were creative wine glass tags). My bridesmaids, seeing how pleased I was, also had Sweet Penelope create my bridal shower invites! Elise has been doing this for awhile and had great advice on how to convey all the pertinent information to guests without creating a cluttered invitation or program. She is patient, friendly, conscientious, and creative. We had Sweet Penelope do all the printing for us, but she also offers pdf templates and resources to be able to print invites yourself and save some money. However, even having her do it all was less expensive than other stationary providers. I can't say enough good things about our experience working with Elise/Sweet Penelope. Just had Sweet Penelope do all of the "paper products" (menus, table cards, placecards etc...)associated with my wedding and could not have been more thrilled. Every detail-- large and small attended to. Every deadline met (ahead of time) and all with incredible creativity, precision, and with a smile. I had a wonderful experience working with Elise for my wedding invitation. When I visited Sweet Penelope website for the first time, I knew this is the one! The website is very user-friendly and they have great selection of designs, which are all modern, chic, and elegant. The turn around time is great: about 2 weeks, and I got my invitations sent to my door step the day after the final hard proof. The final product is really well-made with great printing materials, plus it looks more expensive than what I paid for it, which is very reasonable. I was in charge of the DJ and the alcohol. My then-fiance (now-wife) was in charge of everything else. Luckily she has great taste. Although I could honestly not care less about things like floral arrangements and tablecloths, I was a bit worried about the invitation situation. This was something that would be going out to all of our friends and family and I didn't want it to be too cheesy (like many of the invitations I've received over the years). Amazingly, she found something at Sweet Penelope that was the perfect balance for us - it had the colors and feel that she was going for and didn't embarrass me in the least. To be honest, there were actually a number of invitations at Sweet Penelope that I would have been happy with but the one we ended up choosing (Ginger, look it up) was the perfect design for us (and we poured through a ton from many different vendors). The template we got from Sweet Penelope was well put together and simple to use, and printing at home was a breeze. And the best part was that they were much less expensive than a lot of the other invitations we had seen. With the money we saved on the invitations, I was able to book the DJ for a few more hours which my drunken aunts and uncles really seemed to appreciate. If I ever end up getting married again (which, fortunately, doesn't seem likely), I'd definitely go back to Sweet Penelope for the invites. read more

Elise of Sweet Penelope was wonderful to work with. Her designs are simple yet elegant, and great for folks on a bit of a budget like us. She was also very accommodating as when putting together a wedding on such short notice sometimes things change day to day, sometimes hour to hour. On one particular day we must have been on the phone with her 3-4 times in the span of an hour and she was always gracious, and helpful, providing tremendous guidance on the colors and fonts we would be using. Sweet Penelope was is far the most affordable high-end designer on the market. There are other companies that offer what she does, but charge more and don't offer free updates to your design like she does. I am getting married this year and hired her for our invites. She makes absolutely beautiful invitations, for a very reasonable price. Furthermore, her customer service is probably the best I've ever come across. I had a lot of questions about how to order our cards, because I wanted addresses printed on all the envelopes, and she was extremely helpful, usually responding to my emails within minutes. When I needed more envelopes, she offered to send us them free of charge. Due to a problem at FedEx (which was not Elise's fault) the cards arrived one day late, which wasn't a problem at all. However, Elise insisted on giving us a 20% discount. She runs a fabulous business, and I highly recommend her! read more

Sweet Penelope was the easiest part of wedding planning! Elise designed and printed my beautiful and useful invitations in a timely fashion. What a great combination of skills, pleasantly shared! She is knowledgeable and helpful about the "traditional" texts and customs. At the same time, she is particularly talented at helping you customize and personalize every detail. I hadn't thought much about invitations before, but these really prepare guests for the spirit of the gathering. I trust her aesthetic sense completely. She had classy ideas on how to accommodate my desire for minimal waste. She is highly detail-oriented too, gently noting potential faux-pas and double-checking everything from direction accuracy to dimpled paper. Elise was the person I worked with and she was extremely helpful and answered all my questions & gave me tips on how to print it, paper choices, and local paper stores to check out.
