    Bakes up beautifully

Trying Sweet Revenge chicken pot pies tonight. Each pot pie is almost 1 lb. Baking instructions are 350F for 60-90 minutes. They are fully cooked so I just need to watch for a nice crispy crust. New menus come out every Monday. The owner is very nice. I was list so I called and she explained the process. Ordering was very easy. Just send a text to their number. They are on Facebook and Yelp. You can order already baked or frozen so you can bake yourself She also has a big pink truck and is at various locations around town. She also shares her story and it's very admirable. I'll serve with a salad tonight. It looks really filling! Finished baking straight from the freezer bit took 1 1/2 hours. Nice and crispy. Filling is tasty, not salty and it's full of chicken.

No revenge, just a sweet pie! Hanging with my friend Li Y. she asked if I'd tried Sweet Revenge, which I hadn't. We made a detour and called in to see if they still had pies and to our luck they did! It pays to call. Sweet Revenge offers as a food truck (for the most part) and sells its items at various farmers markets, fairs, etc. My experience was a bit different as we called to place and order for pick up at their storefront. By the time we arrived, our pies were ready and looked fabulous. She even kindly added on some delicious mochi which was appreciated! I got the Fresh Mango Pie for my Dad. I only had a bite but it was fresh, flaky, slightly sweet, and mango-forward. He thoroughly enjoyed every bite. If I come back, I'd try their savory pies! Savory and sweet pie lovers can unite for the perfect personal-sized pies offered by Sweet Revenge. Follow their pages to see where they're at day to day. Their storefront is off Robello Lane with parking in front. Grateful for my friend for connecting me here and opening my eyes on how delicious mango pies are!

Best Chicken Pot Pie! Visiting patient in the CDU and found Sweet Revenge pop-up right outside. Wanted to try their Chicken Pot Pie that our daughter raves about while attending JABSOM. It lived up to the hype! The mango & lemon crunch pies were a nice treat too!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this business yet. This is a food truck (bright pink in color, called "Pinky") that's known for their gourmet pies, mochi, cookies, etc. all made with creative and local flavors. The food truck can be found at select farmers' markets during the day (find them on IG to get their weekly schedule and menu) or you can pick up their items at their kitchen in Kalihi during certain days/hours. I used to visit them at the Hawaii Kai farmers market every Tuesday afternoon, but sadly they're no longer there. Now I just place my order online at SweetRevengeHonolulu.com and pick it up at her kitchen in Kalihi. I believe they're open Wed. - Sat., 10am - 2pm as of March 2023. She accepts Venmo, which makes it real easy to order and pay. The owner, Kathy, is a hard-working lady who makes incredible desserts based on the season, so there tends to be new items on the menu each month. Some of my favorite items are: 1. Lilikoi butter - they come in small mason jars. I spread it on a toasted English muffin for breakfast and it's the best thing ever! 2. Sweet & savory pies - they're mini in size (I can usually eat one in two days). My absolute favorite is the lilimansi, which is a combination of lilikoi and calamansi that's poured into a freshly baked graham crust. It tastes like a key lime pie, but it's so much better! I also enjoy her chicken pot pie. It's filled with lots of chicken, gravy, carrots and peas in a buttered crust, and it's bursting with flavor! 3. Mochi - it's not always on the menu, but when it is, I always order it! Her mochi comes in a bento box (6 pieces) and it's super soft and fresh. Rumor has it that she learned how to make mochi from her grandfather who owned Fujiya, which is my favorite mochi ever! I'm so glad I discovered her truck because it's such a treat to try her new items and to know that my tried and true favorites are always available. Check out her IG page for her food truck schedule and weekly menu: @sweetrevengehnl.

Lots of chicken, peas and carrots only.

Spotted the pink truck at St. Francis hospital and something told me I had to try her pies! The owner was super friendly and helpful. I really, really enjoyed her beef chili pie! The crust tasted like cornbread. Soft and flaky- super good! Too bad it's a special and not on her regular menu. I wanted more! Lol. I did go back to try the chicken pot pie and pumpkin crunch pie, those were good too. Highly recommend.

    Chicken pot pie

Loooooove the chicken pot pie!! Full of chicken and has such a buttery, flaky crust. Perfect size and very filling. And if you like nectarines, you'll like the nectarines and cream pie. Just remember they're not as sweet as peaches. My other coworkers also vouch for this food truck, stating their pies are insanely addictive. I will definitely be coming back to try more flavors.

May the 4th Be With You day pies. Porg (chicken) pot pie and Lando Calamansian (calamansi lime and lilikoi) pie.

I saw a news report prompting their fun Star Wars-themed names for their pies for May the 4th Be with You day. That was just the push to get me to order the Porg (chicken) pot pie and the Lando Calamasian (calamansi lime and lilikoi) pie. Their pink truck goes to different farmers markets, but you can also order online to pickup from their base in Kalihi or get them delivered if you order enough. I placed an order online to pickup at one of the farmers markets to guarantee my selections. They accept payment via Venmo online. Ok on the pies! Porgs are delicious! Just kidding the chicken was very good in the pie with big chunks of meat along with carrots and peas. This is not a soupy pot pie but that doesn't mean this one is dry. The meat was moist and I was surprised how much there was inside the pie. The crust is flakey and buttery. I was very satisfied with it and have not had a pot pie in a long time. It was comforting to eat. The calamansi lime and lilikoi (passionfruit) pie was also very good. Nice sweet and tart combination with the lime and lilikoi flavors. It seems to be a little more lilikoi flavored. The pies are on the pricey side being 5" in diameter and currently $12 each. That being said they are good and worth treating yourself every now and then!

*** 3.5 Bandit's car was parked 15mins. of walk away from us and no, we don't need biki bike because we are so "tambok" and walking is the least thing we can do coz exercising ain't our thing. LoL. Then I was so happy when we made a turn, there's Honolulu Farmer's Market situated at Blaisdell Center. And yes, Sweet Revenge distracts my bandit's attention & end up buying the fresh cherry pie! The pie ain't the best but enough to satisfy someone's craving without too much guilt. The filling is not that sweet which compliments well with the crust that I relished so much. Praise for the cherry season! We got few more months to enjoy it in every way we want. Sweet Revenge is in a form of a pink food truck. Their menu also include chicken pot pie, chowdah & biskies, hot buttered rum mix, lilikoi butter, lilikoi chiffon, lilimansi, pumpkin crunch, quiche & rocky road. The woman who suppose to take orders took time to get the line keep moving because she talked to this other customer in front of me for more than a minute. And when she noticed that the queue is getting longer she then call the other staff to serve us. Little things that sometimes put you in an inconvenience situation (sigh). After the experience, should I give this pastry truck another shot? Of course, I will surely do! Mahalo for reading and happy juandering (wandering) fellow yelpers!

I used to always buy Sweet Revenge pies when she was at the open market on Ft. Street when I worked in downtown. But that was a few years ago. And now that I'm working in town again, I'm so happy I get to buy her pies again at the farmers market at the church on Makiki Street. I got the Chocolate pb mochi pie & the Yelp pie. I usually never eat chocolate but the mochi made me do it. Lol and I'm so glad I did because it was so good. It was like you were eating peanut butter mochi. The Yelp pie was really good too & I loved the fresh strawberries. I love that she always has new pies and ones that are so different from any other place that sells pies. Just as a heads up, give them some time to prepare your order as the sweet pies are usually made to order (meaning they put the topping on when you order it). The pies are pretty pricey but definitely so worth it!

I was at Richies Drive inn when I remembered to check out this place. It was about a couple lanes or two further down North King Street heading west and sure enough you can spot the cute food trailer in the parking lot. Did you know the family built this wooden cafe on the trailer together?! The Kids helped built this with the direction of their father. They are parked near the street in the shared parking lot with the Pawn shop & Jackson Hewett Tax Servive. It's across the Kapalama Post office but before the old Pizza Hut location and I think after Palace Saimin You would only see the cafe on the trailer from Tuesday-Friday from 11am -5pm. There are some picnic benches and chairs under the canopy tent while you wait. In the beginning they started out in Waimanalo but for now they are here in Kalihi. They are known for their Steak and Shrimp plate and their two huge pieces of boneless fried chicken. They have some regular items and some specials of the day. Best to call ahead and place your order. The fried chicken would take the longest about 10 minutes wait time. They have some other items which sounded good like pot roast pork which is not offered all the time, hamburger steak. Kalbi, loco moco, bbq chicken, etc. On a hot day, shave ice and slushies and slushes floats would be refreshing. They have lemonade and orange aid slushies , but I got an orange aid slushie float with ice cream. I decided to get the fried chicken since I had some time to wait. it was huge as the photos posted and it was $12! It was hot and crispy in a seasoned flour battered. I couldn't wait to take a bite as I was driving, but I just tried part of the fried batter. It was seasoned so it was a little salty for me perhaps I just ate the batter part. The chicken gravy given was really good but having two humongous boneless chicken, I may need more gravy than the large portion cup given. Chicken tasted better after pouring some of the gravy over it. The gravy was yummy and not the brown gravy, but the light tan gravy! I'm looking forward to try more dishes like the rib eye steak, pot roast pork or some other specials. Please support this family own business! Daily specials are posted on their Instagram page @cafeparkside808. They were so nice and down to earth. I was grateful for their great & friendly service and they even offered to bring my order to my car since I wanted to wait in my car. They have some regular customers now but could use more customers since they are a new business. Prices were reasonable with generous portions. Still need to try more plates but I'll give them a rating of 4.5 stars rounded up! Thanks for reading my reviews =)

When the food is ready, you get a text, pick-up is on the kitchen-side, backdoor. We'd heard good things about their steak, dynamite chicken, and ahi katsu so we wanted to try all three. There is a chicken + meat combo that allows you to upgrade the meat to ribeye; we ordered this plate with all green salad. Then we ordered the King Kam ahi katsu with rice and upgraded the side to imitation crab salad. If you love sauce, this is for you. Their fried items are nicely cooked, the ahi katsu had a nice rare center and the boneless chicken was still juicy, but both lost their crispness under a mountain of seasoned soy sauce, Kewpie mayo, sriracha aioli, and sweet chili sauce. With the additional garlic, katsuobushi, furikake, and green onion, these are flavor bombs. The ribeye had a nice char from the grill. It's served with a side of crack sauce which has a vinegar, fish sauce base, plus chili, garlic and cilantro. The heat from the steak and chicken withered the bed of green salad underneath, so we didn't eat it; serves us right for not getting rice and mac salad with a plate lunch. At Kingz, more is more. If you are looking for a new plate lunch spot, check them out.

I know this is a revered institution, but our visit just wasn't very good. We went for breakfast:…read morethe pancakes were good, but the American Breakfast wasn't, and the potatoes were undercooked with a flavor that was almost too earthy. The pastries were just okay; we tried a few cake slices that were fine but unremarkable. The cinnamon roll was dry and hard, the malasadas were forgettable, and the haupia-filled malasada was surprisingly tart. It's possible some ingredients were locally sourced and just unfamiliar to our mainland palates, or maybe we simply caught them on an off day. The servers were curt but friendly, likely because the place was packed with tourists.
