I'll go out of my way to visit Tiare at the Honolulu and Kailua Farmer's Markets. She is just as sweet as the baked goodies she sells. My faves are her mouth-watering s'mores, blueberry scones, peanut butter brownies and butter mochi. She also makes melt-in-your-mouth cookies by special order. Check out her website for her menu and contact info!

I first saw this place at Eat the Streets and I finally tried it at the SALT Night Market. This is a review only for the one item I had, the cookies and cream ice cream sandwich. It was $7 which is pricey, but not ridiculous. The sheer size of the sandwich is amazing. It looked like almost half a pint. Made for great photos, but I feel like that the novelty is over for me and I would not have the same thing again. The cookie was not super chewy or crispy, a good texture. Although the quantity was satisfying, the actual ice cream was just average for me, nothing I haven't had before. So I would be open to try something else they have next time... but sharing it.

Mint chocolate chip ice cream with a fat, chewy brownie! I couldn't wait to eat it before taking a photo (sorry not sorry)! xD

While browsing through Instagram one slow day at work, I was smitten by a photo of a GIANT cookie ice cream sandwich from No Ka 'Oi... At that point, I became DETERMINED to get one from Eat The Street that night! When I finally got to the tent, the entire selection looked utterly appealing, so I went with the brownie & mint chocolate chip ice cream instead (two of my favorite desserts)! The workers were exceptionally kind & handed me my decadence totaling $6.50. Let me tell you, the portion was the equivalence of TWO softballs. It probably SHOULD have been split (holy calorific), but I ate nearly all of it & shared a little with my BF because, well, he did pay for it. :3 I emphasize health & fitness so this was an ultimate cheat snack, & I -may- have been a bit deprived (OK.. A LOT), but the first bite tasted like Heaven on Earth! The ice cream was perfectly creamy & luscious! Even though it was the end of the day, the brownie was still chewy & rich with a crispy egde, probably one of the best brownies on the island. Completely satisfied my annoying sweet tooth. I will have this again, some day, & recommend to any sugar indulgers to give it a try! :D

No Ka Oi Cookie Company is at the Honolulu Farmer's market every other week. We have been enjoying their huge scones every other week. Their scones are pretty good on the day 2, day 3 as well.

"Brownie Sundae" ($7) with soft, chocolate brownie and a generous scoop of cookies and cream ice cream.

My first visit to No Ka Oi Cookie Company was during an "Eat the Street" event last year. I was craving something sweet for dessert, and it was my very first "Eat the Street" that I ever attended. It was a hot summer night in August, and No Ka Oi Cookie Company came to the rescue. I had been eyeing those delectable ice cream sandwiches throughout the evening, and I eventually caved and bought one. And, I'm pleased to say that it was worth every penny of the $7 I spent. $7 might seem pricy for an ice cream sandwich, but these colossal creations are huge. You definitely get your money's worth. I feel like each cookie ice cream sammie has three scoops of ice cream in them. There are other treats you can get here, including brownie and regular ice cream sundaes. I ended up getting the brownie sundae during another "Eat the Street" event. But this company made a good impression on me from day one because they didn't skimp on portion size, and their cookies were really good! I look forward to seeing No Ka Oi Cookie Company at other "Eat the Streets," and I have yet to check them out at the Blaisdell and Mililani farmers markets as well ... I heard you can get scones, cookies, brownies and other baked goods at those events. But, the cookie ice cream sandwiches are only sold at "Eat the Street." Here's what I got: "OREO" sandwich: During my visit, there were several different cookie ice cream sandwich flavors: OREO, Grasshopper (mint), Original (with vanilla ice cream) and Kona Coffee. I was torn between OREO and Kona Coffee, but one of the workers said the OREO flavor usually sells out first and is one of the most popular flavor. I do love cookies and cream, so I tried the OREO sandwich during my first visit. WOW ... just wow. The ice cream was sufficiently creamy (I'm not sure if it was vanilla bean or not), and while it wasn't super studded with cookie chunks, I really liked the taste of it anyway. There was definitely a lot of ice cream in that sandwich, and it satisfied my need for something sweet. I was surprised at how soft and chewy the cookies were, for being so thin. Because of their thinness, I thought they would be soft and crunchy, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover how chewy they actually were. I can't wait to taste the Kona Coffee flavor next time. "Brownie Sundae": I'm a chocolate fiend, and the brownies from No Ka Oi Cookie Company are LEGIT. I love fudgy, chewy, soft and gooey brownies, and these definitely deliver. I had a brownie sundae during another "Eat the Street" event, and I opted for vanilla ice cream on one of the triple chocolate brownies. So delicious. The brownie sported the perfect consistency and texture; it was chewy and not too cakelike. That, paired with the rich and creamy ice cream, made for the perfect dessert. You can also get these brownies at the farmers markets; flavors vary, based on availability. During a different visit, I was able to try the peanut butter brownie and it was yummy as well. But, that triple chocolate brownie is sure to please any chocoholic. "Gooey Peanut Butter": This is one cookie I haven't seen yet, but I'm dying to try. I love peanut butter, and this cookie is supposed to be chewy and soft on the inside, but buttery and rich all over. The clincher is that it has chocolate and peanut butter chips spread throughout. If I ever see these cookies at the farmers market ... I'm going to get some, no questions asked. "Chocolate Chip Lovers": Apparently this is a best seller when it comes to cookies, so I can't wait to try it sometime. It features a premium blend of chocolate chips and is supposed to be buttery, sweet and contain a slightly crispy crunch. Since the other cookies I've tried so far have been chewy and soft, here's to hoping the traditional chocolate chip one is the same.

Massive ice cream sandwich. This was a mint chocolate chip

I have been to several Malasada places in Hawaii but | love…read morethere's the best for the following reasons: 1. the size of the malasadas: some restaurants tend to make their Malasadas smaller and when places do this it ruins the overall texture and quality of it. The bigger the malasadas size the more airy and fluffy and more bread layers that will be inside. 2. their malasadas always taste fresh and the same quality each time. 3. their malasadas don't feel oily or heavy at all Overall I would highly recommend this place for their Malasadas! I'm so happy to have found them. I can back multiple times on my trip. They also have other desserts too that I have yet to try. They have ice cream, cakes, and other desserts Also tip: if you are ordering a malasada also order a coffee or a matcha drink to go with it. The cinnamon sugar from the malasada just matches so perfectly with a drink this restaurant is also a nice place for walking! There's lot of stores and restaurants to walk around! I'm trying to remember but I think there was a book off that was not too far from here! If you either drive or maybe walk. Service: staff was super helpful and friendly while I was there. I was having an issue with my online order because my phone was being glitchy and they were so nice in helping :) Also wanted to note their branding is so cute!! They even sell merch items too

However, there are many alternative malasada purveyors throughout Honolulu, so I depended on local vloggers to find the best ones. This one popped up often on YouTube, and as luck would have it, we were dining at The Pig & The Lady on the next block. How calorifically convenient. We took the opportunity to stop by for a pre-dinner snack since they closed at 6PM. It's a cute shop with multiple sweets including quite a selection of housemade ice cream and delectable mouthfuls called Cake Bombs (Photo 10). We decided we would be good and ordered one unfilled Malasada each. Dusted with various sugar flavors, they were just $2.65 a piece. I went for the Coffee, while Jamie chose the daily special, Cinnamon (Photo 6). They were soft and tasty, quite comparable to Leonard's albeit a tad smaller. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing since we had dinner ahead of us. However, we let temptation get the best of us and shared a $5.50 slice of the Ube Haupia Mac Nut Bar, a yummy combination of sweet potato and ube topped with haupia (coconut milk pudding) on a macadamia nut crust (Photo 9). Truth be told, it stole the show from the malasadas. FOOD - 4 stars... the malasadas were good, but that ube dessert was next level AMBIANCE - 4 stars...really a takeout operation with a lot of temptations SERVICE - 4 stars...very calm and orderly TOTAL - 4 stars...yet another spot for sweet Hawaiian decadence RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Standard generous portion for a bingsu location, notably generous for an Ala Moana location. The location itself was free of insects despite being on a ground floor location with sugary desserts everywhere. Meh: The $14 (including 15% tip) dessert tasted too light and ice-like and appeared more translucent (rather than opaque white) than expected, leading me to think the milk was watered down, which may be how the establishment can make up the cost for the portion size while maintaining a spot in Ala Moana, especially given milk prices in Hawai'i, even if you're buying from Costco or direct from farmers. Also, tables were not cleaned after each party departed; that transparent puddle on your table might not be condensation and may instead be drool drops from the toddler who sat there before you. Overall: Good (not outstanding) experience. Knocked off 2 stars for combination of suspected diluted milk + unclean tables.

Hubs had to fast from 6 am for his 2 pm surgery so I thought he would probably be starving and would enjoy a delectable salt and butter roll from here.
