I was so happy to find a restaurant that serves vegan Creole/Cajun/Soulfood while I was visiting New Orleans. They have parking on the street and on their side of a shared parking lot against the building. Be careful not to park in the H&R Block spots or you'll get towed. I was greeted warmly as I entered the restaurant. Everyone was friendly and helpful. You order at the counter, it's cafeteria style and they scoop up your choices into a divided container. You can choose from 1 to 4 entrees and they will offer you a sample if you're undecided. My dining companion ordered the vegan lasagna, vegan mac & cheese, orange cauliflower. I was sampled a little bit of each. The vegan lasagna 10/10. It's very hearty and delicious. The vegan mac & cheese, 7.5/10. I tend to like a little bit more zing to mine. I sampled the collard greens and I'm not a fan because I don't like kale, so I figured I wouldn't like collard greens either. I chose the curry vegetables, jambalaya, okra gumbo and orange cauliflower and I got talked into a piece of cornbread as I checked out. Curry vegetables, 10/10. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. The jambalaya was on point. I loved it 10/10. The okra gumbo was just not for me 5/10. The orange cauliflower was 10+/10. It was so freaking good! I'm missing it already. it reminded me of panda express. I brought the well-wrapped cornbread all the way back to St. Louis and it's a 10/10. I wish I had bought more. They have a self-serve, water cooler, or bottled water or juice. This is a casual neighborhood restaurant and it is a fantastic place to try vegan food if you never have tried it. If you are hard-core vegan, there's so much here to enjoy and so many gluten-free options. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to New Orleans.

That green drink tho! I came here for a work conference and fell in love. The sweet cauliflower wings are a must try and the okra gumbo is good. I also got the Mac and cheese. But the green juice is hands down the surprising star. It's refreshing, healthy, and tastes amazing. It is so popular my Lyft driver saw where I was going and parked herself to her a drink!

I am not vegetarian or vegan but my friend is so I was willing to visit with her and I am so glad I did. Love the cafeteria style service and large portion sizes. I did the pick four with jambalaya, okra gumbo, cashew Mac and cheese and cornbread dressing. All of them were delicious. The pick 4 was enough for two meals! Wish I had been in town on a day that they had banana pudding because I just know that would have been delicious. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Definitely a hole in the wall place away from the tourist hustle and bustle.

So many vegan options! You can order online but there was no line in person. We got the sweet heat cauliflower, okra gumbo, philly pasta, bread pudding, chickpea cakes, cashew mac, collard greens, potato salad. Really enjoyed everything! All the food was delicious. Great home cooked vibe. I would definitely come back. Love that they rotate the menu and you can try different things different days. There's not enough good, affordable vegan restaurants like this one out there so please keep doing what you're doing!

Always solid Soulfood that just happens to be vegan. $10 Pick 3 Wednesdays are an offering right now, so it's a great time to try! I've been going for years, and the food has yet to disappoint!

Great food. Great people. I highly recommend this place. Between my husband and I, we ordered the okra gumbo, dirty rice, jambalaya, red beans, cornbread dressing, sweet heat cauliflower, crispy cauliflower, and collards. They were all amazing in their own right. They seem to have a good business with people streaming in nonstop throughout the time we were there...and it's well deserved. Very worth the stop.

Service was great. Nice and friendly, seemed family ran. I ended up getting the okra gumbo 10/10 cornbread dressing 7/10 orange cauliflower 7/10 and stuffed bell pepper 4/10. I just wasn't a fan of the plant based meat used. Its tasted like one of the plant based sausages in walmart I just cant put my finger on the brand.

Food was really good. They were good at pointing out what may have common allergens (nuts). I'm so glad to see such a genuinely good vegan food place in business.

Amazing customer service and such a wide selection of delicious vegan sides to choose from, this spot is definitely my go-to when I'm craving clean soul food that makes me feel good inside. I really love their fried cauliflower and savory greens, and their vegan brownie tastes better than a dairy one! 8/10 I recommend this place when you're craving veggies or Caribbean food ~

Always a pleasure coming here. Friendly staff. Incredible vegan homestyle food. As usual, I ordered the four plate option and decided to try a few different things this time - including the curry and the stuffed peppers. Everything was phenomenal and flavorful as it always is. Unfortunately, they were out of cornbread when I went and it's a must !!! But, I did go later than usual this time than I typically would.. Until next time !!

We were visiting the Crescent City and came across the restaurant on Yelp. We arrived in time to order. I was so excited! I ordered the orange cauliflower, curried vegetables over rice, okra gumbo with a bit of rice, and the mac & cashew cheese and a green goodness! It was sooooo good! My hubby ordered the sweet potatoes, greens, rice with the "pot liquor" from the red beans and the Mac & cashew cheese. It was all very delicious! It hit the spot for me. While serving cafeteria style, they ask if you have any nut allergies due to the cashew Mac & cheese. It was a comfortable environment with a nice mural of Dr. Sebi on the wall. Definitely a place that I'd visit again. Good food. Good people. Good environment and good prices!

I thought we were going to another place when one of my guests suggested Thaihey across the street from the fire station on Decatur. Yes, sure. It's a typical Quarter restaurant with its long gallery seating. We were seated right away. The menu appeared to be heavily vegetarian which was great for my two friends. Many will understand the limited menu options for vegetarians at most places. Wes ordered Tom Kai, Becky the Massaman Jackfruit option and I the one with short rib. It was delicious. It was warm and comforting, full of flavor and the chef made it less spicy for me. What a delight to choose a menu option that I have never had and restaurant that I have never been to. You believe that I'll return for certain. Especially for that gorgeous Mai Tai!

This has to be one of the best Indian restaurants in the country. As a person who has tried lots of Indian restaurants, this place stands out above all. The service is impeccable. I wouldn't expect anything less given the quality and the taste of the food coming out of that kitchen. Our servers were very proper, very respectful, very courteous, and you could tell they were very proud of the food they were serving. The space is very well decorated, not a giant restaurant. If you don't already know who they are, you honestly don't expect what you're about to taste, and you're in for a ride. Every plate had something special to it. I didn't think I could fall in love again with lamb chops, but they proved me wrong. Reminded me of the first time I ever bit a GOOD lamb chop. I didn't think I would be impressed by (seemingly) fried chicken bits, but you too won't understand why they're so good when you bite into them. Fried cauliflower, AMAZING. Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.
