I would give them a 5/5 but the line was super long and due to the amount of people, the time to get our food was also a good time spent. I will say that the food was top notch, great quality and the staff was friendly amongst the chaos. We went during brunch time, so be prepared to go early or to wait a while. Amazing food & the most delicious banana caramel pie. I've been going to this restaurant since I was a young child (25+ years) & it's continued to be consistently great. Within the last 2 years, I've gone once to dine-in & 4-5 times to pick up a pie, & it's been SUPER full of dinners each time. Although it's a good thing for the owner(s) to have as many customers as they do, it's a bit inconvenient to be asked to wait for a table when dining in &/or to wait while they prepare or finish preparing my pickup order just because of the sheer volume of customers that seem to be dining at the restaurant - regardless of the day of the week or the time of day in which I've gone. In spite of this downside for the customer, I continue to patronize the restaurant in light of the wait time that undoubtedlwill be something to contend with because of how nice the staff is, how sweet the female owner (who is often working the floor and dealing with customers one-to-one), &, most importantly, how delicious the food & pie is from Sweet Temptations. read more

Came with my sister to get some breakfast. Had to get the strawberry Belgian waffle when I spied the picture in the menu. I added a side of bacon to accompany my waffle. My sister ordered the full side of French toast. The waffle and French toast came out great! Not too sweet and the bacon was nice crispy and thick, just the right amount! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is delicious and the owners are always so friendly and welcoming. I usually get the veggie omelette with fruit and the zucchini muffin. There's a dessert- I don't know what it's called, but it's an apple rolled and baked in breading (comes with ice cream) and it is so amazingly delicious!! You've got to try it. The tables and chairs were so close together you could barely pull your chair out and are forced to overhear everyone else's conversation which I rather not know about. The menu is not simple at all because you have to order everything separate. No egg with pancake platters, no french toast platters with egg and bacon. So, in order for you to get a filling breakfast your looking at $15+ per person and I'm not a big eater. Taste wise, I was kind of disappointed considering the amount of good reviews of this place. That's why we came here in the first place. Unless these reviews are just friends and family of the owners. Who knows, none the less, I may give this place another chance for lunch. 2 stars because the waiter did take care of us. If you are looking for a filling salad, I'd suggest the stuffed avocado (with tuna or chicken salad) on a bed of lettuce or a variety salad (pasta salad & chicken or tuna salad on a bed of lettuce). The chicken envueltos are their "healthier" version of enchiladas covered in this spicy sauce served with jalapeno mayonnaise. Don't forget to leave room for PIE!! This family owned business has a long, established reputation for quality food and service with many local followers leisurely enjoying breakfast today. Word of mouth brought us here today but the overall experience would bring me back. The menu is extensive for the size of the resturant serving breakfast, soups, sandwiches, quiche, salads and dinner plates. Everything is home-made with fresh, quality ingredients from breakfast to the insanely popular desserts. You can purchase desserts by the slice or whole pies and cakes and they cater as well. Apparently the summer, weekday mornings are often quite with very little wait time but not the case once school begins. Sounded perfect to us so we jumped on the opportunity and arrived around 7:30 am for breakfast. We were greeted with a big, geniue smile and seated quickly by our server with beverages following shortly afterwards. The coffee was very smooth, no bitterness with a robust flavor and the orange juice was incredible, sweet, screaming 100% fresh and all natural juice. The menu isn't the typical franchise menu with large platters or large assortment of foods per entree. My niece and I both ordered The Works Omelette served with option of potatoes or fresh fruit. She opted for potatoes and I selected the fresh fruit. The large, 3 egg omelette was stuffed with diced bacon, ham, sausage, fresh sautéed veggies then topped with our choice of, monterrey jack, cheese. The gorgeous presentation of FRESH fruit was so sweet and served with a small container of fruit dip. What an unexpected treat of sweetened, whipped cream cheese with cinnamon, powdered and brown sugar served along side of my fruit. Very nice touch! The omlette was delicious, very filling, affordable and I would highly recommend with the fruit. The service was excellent and our server truly enjoyed his job. I so wanted to try one of the many, many home-made desserts listed. Apple Dumplings, Better Than Sex Cake, Chocolate Cake to Millionaire Pie, honestly everything, looked and sounded incredible. I went to this venue for breakfast 3x in one week. I was getting dental work in Mexico and staying in McAllen Texas. I checked google and yelp for a place to sit, have fresh coffee and order breakfast instead of the American fast food egg McMuffin or some microwaved bacon or sausage and eggs. Here you get fresh eggs off the griddle. French toast just like homemade. Crispy bacon with eggs over easy if you want. They even have a stronger coffee for those who ask,. We spied a table across the parking lot and told the server we'd wait there for the menu. The day was perfect for outdoor dining. We were told to order something not grilled to avoid over a 30 minute wait. We each ordered a soup and I half a blt sandwich and hubby a SW QUIche. The soups mine a white chili and his a tortilla were fantastic. The quiche was really great with plenty of meat. The items listed for dessert were extremely tenting but we passed on the opportunity as we were very full. All employees wore masks and since I was able to be outside away from others I felt safe. Not noisy but not quiet place, which is comfortable since you can speak normally and comfortably. Waiters are awesome they are very attentive and super friendly. The owners are very polite and seem very helpful to their staff been going for approximately 5 years now and don't plan on stopping anytime soon or if ever.
