We met some old friends for dinner staff was very friendly and very welcoming. Food was spot on we hadn't eaten there since they reopened in Tucson now we need to go back. My favorite was the won ton salad, claim chowder, cream of mushroom soup, garlic frittata, peach cobbler and vanilla frosty. The wait staff was great too. I had a fantastic lunch experience! I was blissfully building a salad, watching someone fill basins with fresh ingredients. I found my personal favorites, fresh peas and feta cheese crumbles, and looked forward to indulging in this delight. We reached the cashier, and discussed beverages and phone numbers, and she casually reached over and rang a bell. After we paid, she introduced the person who had responded to the bell, and offered to carry my tray for me. I walk with a cane, and while I might have been able to manage, it was so wonderful not to need to struggle. I enjoyed my lunch with my daughter. We ate delicious food is a clean, welcoming environment, surrounded by happy customers and smiling, friendly employees. I look forward to returning to Sweet Tomatoes. read more

I've never been to Sweet Tomatoes in the past and definitely wanted to see what the hype was all about. Up until this weekend, they still have been getting long lines. Probablt because the food is very affordable, $13+ per person for a buffet...however, I'm the type of person who would rather spend a little more, especially if the quality of the food was better. I just feel like there really wasn't anything that tasted amazing. The salads and ingredients didn't seem super fresh to me...the breads were mass produced, and I'm not really sure they're baked fresh in-house. The chicken noodle soup was so salty. I feel bad cause I was hoping for a great dining experience, but really, all this restaurant offered was affordability. There was nothing I ate here that was excellent, and it's unfortunate cause I was really hoping it was worth all the hype... probably not a place I would come back to for the food. My advice: It's better to spend your money at a different local, better tasting restaurant. read more

So glad to have this soup/salad buffet back in business. Just wish they would open a few more! (Especially out Marcopa way where the resident to restaurant ratio is probably 1500-1.). I have to eat keto/healthy and salads are great and customizable. Still a good deal cost wise. As it's close to an hour away, will get back when we're in the area. read more

We drove down from Phoenix because we missed having Sweet Tomatoes. I would not be back. Definitely not worth the trip. Salads look like they had been sitting all day. Soggy lettuce. The radishes tasted old , the cucumbers were brown, the soup was tasteless (clam chowder). I do have to say in a positive note the service was very good. The food not so much so. read more

Long time fan when it was in many states and cities..first time this location. I realize this is NOT the original owners..it's new backers. The place was clean, I enjoyed the teas and drinks a lot. The mouse was real good and I liked the fresh oranges. I loved the clam chowder, the chili and the sweet potates I filled with the green onions, sour cream, butter...great. I tried one pasta..I got a huge salad and enjoyed the wonderful variety of salad items. For the price, in my view, I'd like to have them add at least 4 more hot items..whatever they may be/not pasta not breads not carbs based... I'm so glad that Sweet Tomatoes is reopened! I brought my grandkids for lunch last week, and everything was pretty much the same! The broccoli and tuna pasta salad, the soups, the salad stuff - so happy to see this! My grands loved the chicken noodle soup, the pizza, the brownies, and of course the iced cream machine! My 3 year old grand ate for free, which was really nice! I loved the strawberry lemonade! Service was excellent, we kept being asked if we were finished with dishes, and if we needed anything! It was packed - I sure wish they would also re-open the Tucson Mall location, which is closer for us! read more

food was great, their salads have always been wonderful and still are. Mac & cheese was ever so slightly bland, as was the penne alfredo, but that was okay or I would have gone back for more. My friend had split pea soup that she said was very good, and a brownie and some soft serve. I had tapioca pudding for dessert. For the price it's affordable to get a lot of selection for soups and salad. I hated the fake bacon they offer though but for a few dollars more I would pay extra to get something like grilled chicken on the side. Cheddar Broccoli soup was by far good for me. I don't think we will be back. Not worth the drive for us. We just came to see what the fuss was about all over TikTok. I wished the owners thought of this when they reopened to have a wash sink by entry and encourage people to wash their hands before handling food utensils. They do have hand sanitizers on a hidden corner that most people see but can be easily ignored. Maybe put it right by door and place a sign to use it. If not, offer gloves or something. read more

YAY!!!!! Being from CA, I have been in a deep funk since our Souplantation (Sweet Tomatoes in other states) closed during Covid, and never returned. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when I read that they reopened a while ago in Tucson, AZ! We visit there yearly for the gem shows, and actually we had our Valentine's Day dinner there two days ago!....my husband thought "who wants to eat there on Valentines Day, instead of a swank and highly expensive restaurant!" I DO/DID! It would be a treat for me, and boy, was it! I saw and ate all of my favs from the past, including my CREAM OF MUSHROOM SOUP, clam chowder, tuna tarragon and Cobb salads, pasta of the day, marinated bean salad (sooooo yummy, almost as good as MINE!), and the ever popular cheesy flatbread pizza slices. The sugar free chocolate mouse was a great ending to a VERY satisfying meal. NOTE!: I am so glad we arrived about 4:55 PM!!! It was already pretty busy, but as the minutes went by, every table was filled, and the line of people waiting to get in was out the door, and wrapped around and down the side of the restaurant! The Tucson original is back. Be prepared for a line and like $13 for adults. I gave this place 4 stars due to being back, good buffet option, staff (cooks to waitstaff are friendly), and again glad they're back. I wish they weren't cashless so I could leave a tip (only complaint of establishment). Now my major complaint is with why people go a little crazy when it comes to buffets. They become rude, impatient and just a lil ruthless. Trust me you'll get your tapioca in a bit, you might have to stand a bit to get your strawberry lemonade, or simply move to let someone by. I'm done with the people, but the restaurant is great and so were the staff! Was so happy to see a Sweet Tomatoes open! Never a disappointing visit. This was my first time at this location. The salad options were plentiful and fresh as always. The breads, soups and potatoes were all good as usual. There weren't very many open seats when we got there. The service was friendly and ready to help with anything that was needed. Been to both Souplantation rebirths; here in Tucson (June 14) and in Rancho Cucamonga (August 17). Sweet Tomatoes nails the "Joan's Brocolli" and the salad bar overall was excellent. Thank you for that. The soups and pasta were as to be expected. Corn bread was notably good. HOWEVER - the soft serve is not good. It really cast a sour note to the end of our meal, as our family had been waiting for the "Souplantation dessert" for YEARS. The texture was awful, flavor was very artificial. As anyone can tell from my other YELP reviews, I really enjoy being able to wrote great reviews that help good restaurants become more popular. But I simply cannot do so for the only Sweet Tomatoes buffet here in Tucson. My wife and I spent $35 for the both of us. My summation is that if all you want is salad and desert, then you MAY be getting your money's worth. My only salad was the Caesar Salad: the dressing was ample and tasty, but the lettuce was on the "wilty" side. In my opinion, their entrée offerings varied between mediocre to poor. They had three pasta offerings and I picked the only one with tomato sauce. I was easily the most tasteless pasta I have ever had in a restaurant - I would have been embarrassed to have made it myself and offer it to guests! It might be the perfect restaurant for vegetarians who want to combine low-calorie salads with high-calorie deserts, but if you want a good entrée, go to any of a half-dozen restaurants nearby! read more

I think I have an attachment to it because it is the last restaurant that my brother went to before he passed away from a motorcycle accident.... But I love salad and I think this place is amazing. Made a detour on my drive from OC to New Mexico just to stop at sweet tomatoes!!!! Although our locations were called souplantation, they were the same thing. And let me tell you, this reopened spot did not disappoint. We waited in line for about 20 minutes. Prices were $13.75 for dinner. Everything was exactly the same. Even the gluten free coconut muffins! All the soups were great! And the place was very clean. The staff was very hard working. And the fresh baked cookies were to die for!! Maybe it was the nostalgia but I was so happy. Can't wait to go back. Hope the owners decide to open up one in California too. read more

As someone who grew up going to Sweet Tomatoes, I was really excited when they reopened! The salad bar is amazing. There's just so many options, so I can always get something different whenever I go. I love the variety. Plus, their ranch is to die for. The Mac and Cheese tastes EXACTLY the same as it did before. It was like a wave of nostalgia. I would say that the restaurant is a bit pricier now compared to how it was before it closed down from COVID (I think it's around $13 now). However, considering it's all-you-can-eat, the prices are not that big of a deal. Also, the place can be a bit crowded sometimes. That's just because a lot of people love Sweet Tomatoes, though (and the fact that this is the only Sweet Tomatoes in the world right now). I'll definitely be back! read more
