Visiting from San Diego and was looking for something other than fast food. Typically, I don't use Google for food options but that's where I found The Saddle. It's right next to the University of Arizona on university and I loved it so much, I came back three nights in a row. Call me a creature of habit, but when you're out of town and you find something excellent, it's worth going back. It definitely has more of a bar vibe than it does a restaurant, but the food I ordered was incredible. If you're hungry, don't look at my pictures. Lol. With that area of town being so crowded, I thought parking was going to be an issue, but I found a spot right near the front of the restaurant every time. I walked right in, ordered at the bar, and was in and out in less than 12 minutes every time. On top of it all, I had the same person helping me from behind the bar each time and she was incredible. Friendly, accommodating, and if I was the manager, she'd be getting a raise. Ask for Alyssa and you won't be disappointed. Needless to say, anytime I am in Tucson, Arizona, I no longer have to search for a restaurant that I like. I'll definitely be back. PS - When they saw me come in for the third night in a row, the chef blessed me with a free slice of raspberry pie. That's quality customer service right there. Love this place. read more

Man let me tell you. First, this is on university's main drag and it's and first food second. So the crowd is very bar heavy. Western themed but I would say it's a country bar. Service was great! The food however was lacking. Sub par bar food. Coca-cola wings have no seasoning. Burger is blah. But perhaps the most offensive this was the chili. I got wedges so he were good and well season with chili. The chili had corn in it. I like corn. It doesn't belong in chili. Otherwise it was good chili. If you want to bring some sweetness to the chili give a side of cornbread. Not corn kernels. Come here for drinks and to watch the games. Eat the food to soak up the alcohol. read more

I had dinner here with two friends a few hours ago. I had the Green Chili Chicken, which came with spiced zucchini and a bowl of chili ($20). All of it was good though a bit spicy, especially the chili. My friends seemed to enjoy their burgers. The place is more bar than restaurant, and during the school year it will undoubtedly be crowded with students and noisy, but in July it is fairly empty and mellow. Service was friendly but not particularly attentive. The atmosphere is that of a small Western honky-tonk. read more

Went in today, I was the only one in the place for a while. But I was met with both people greeting me when I got there and they brought water over to me before I even sat down, which was GREAT! I ordered a Mango Cart beer on draft w/ Tajín and the pineapple pork tenderloin. The beer is my favorite so I knew what to expect there but the tenderloin was so well cooked and prepared. I was honestly shocked. It's not a dive bar by any means but I wasn't expecting the food to be so top notch. I ended up paying $20 for my meal but would have easily paid up to $30 at a different restaurant and it would have came out not being anywhere near as good as this! read more

Awwww. This place was so amazing. I stopped by on a Monday night and there was very few people in here (Tuesday night was another story - very lively!!! Totally different vibe with lots of hype music and over flowing with college students) Monday had some nice country music - old and new stuff playing. A pool table in the back of the bar and a some small seating areas inside and outside on the patio. I thoroughly enjoyed my bacon blue cheese burger (with bacon JAM!) and the amazing cocktail. To top it off the bartender was nice to look at and very friendly. It's a college town so I'm sure each night is different but I was just passing through for a conference I was glad for a quiet drink and good burger on a Monday night. read more

We stopped by Bourbon Bent in Tucson for a quick bite and honestly... it was pretty underwhelming. The place has a nice vibe and looks like it would be a solid hangout spot, but the food just didn't deliver. Everything we ordered was super mid--not terrible, but definitely not memorable. The flavors were bland and overall it just didn't hit the way we hoped it would. Service was decent and the bar menu looked promising, so maybe it's more of a drink spot than a food destination. But if you're coming hungry, you might want to look elsewhere. Not the worst, but definitely wouldn't go out of my way to come back. read more

Was excited to try Bourbon Bent but left super disappointed. Service was terrible and extremely slow. Waffles on chicken waffle sliders came out barely warm and soggy. Syrup had a film over it and was stringy due to sitting so long before coming out. Chicken on slider was TINY. Green beans were cold, bland, and also soggy/floppy. Hubby was also disappointed with his meal. Server quickly handed over total on digital check pad without showing the line items. Asked to see the check before paying and saw she had added an alcoholic beverage that nobody at the table ordered. Accident? Idk, maybe. I'd recommend checking yours before paying if you go. read more

A group of us came here last night for my birthday dinner. We started early at 5:30 and the place was already full. Service was excellent. It's a casual restaurant/bar with tvs and a shot wheel. We all liked our food. The steak was really flavorful. I just wish it had been medium rare instead of coming out as well done. The beans, fries and side salad were all good. One person thought the Mac and cheese was good the other thought theirs was just ok. My friends loved the bourbon balls and burger. I loved the margarita. read more

Unfortunately, I was disappointed by my experience here. Around 6:30pm on a Thursday, it was completely empty, so I didn't have to worry about wait times or other customers, which was a plus. The service was good, and the waitresses were all friendly, but the food just was not good. I started with the Mac and cheese and had high hopes because it looked good. But it just tasted like bland boiled pasta with nothing on it. The cheese had no flavor whatsoever. Adding salt and pepper hardly made it better. I finished with the chicken and waffles. For $17, I got a very thin waffle and a medium sized piece of chicken. That tasted ok, but it didn't feel worth the price at all. If you're looking for good food, I would not recommend Bourbon Bent. read more

I really liked the western decor and relaxed feel when I walked in. You can seat yourself or sit at the bar. We started with bourbon balls and fried pickle spears. The bourbon balls had grilled peach slices which really set it apart from ordinary meatballs. We also had the fried pickle spears which were quite delicious. The meatballs rated highest with everyone at our tab. By the time our main course came I was full. But,.... I had the grilled cheese with green beans. Both were fabulous. The green beans were nicely seasoned with lots of garlic and the portion was more than ample. The sandwich was great! While you are waiting there is always trivia on a screen or sports games to watch. In the back room they have a pool table and a Ms PacMan game! Fun place and great food! I'll be back! read more

This is a fun little spot for dinner, drinks, or a game of pool. I had flown across the country for a conference starting the next day, and was hungry and tired. So I was looking for low key and a full belly. I left with a full belly...and leftovers too! I sat in the quieter back room - it was quiet until a group of guys came in to play pool. They were a young, fun bunch and felt the need to keep apologizing to me for their ruckus game of billiards. I didn't mind - they were sweet, respectful, and enjoying some good clean fun. Even though I was in the back room, the server was very attentive. I had the farmhouse salad, but subbed in fried chicken. It was great, and I needed something green after a travel day. I also ordered the mac and cheese. I was shocked by the size of it when it arrived - it was a full dinner plate sized! It was gooey inside but crispy on the outside, baked in a cast iron pan. A small place but huge on flavor. I had the meatball appetizer with a side salad and it was so dang yummy. You could tell the meatballs were not Costco frozen meatballs. In fact the chef stopped by and said they were hand made. Tasty BBQ sauce and crispy fried onions on top. Salad was fresh and had pickled onions on top. Service was great! read more

Got the winner winner chicken dinner and it was amazing. The restaurant was surprisingly slow for the quality of food which made for a peaceful night out on the patio. This place can definitely get rowdy on the weekends but during the week the chef let us know he might get 5-10 tickets in. Chicken was juicy and crispy. You can tell they use a high quality meet, corn was covered in an in-house cowboy butter, mash potatoes had a great garlic flavor and the whole plate had a nice black pepper heat. The chef was also kind enough to come out talk to us about the dishes and provide some samples of their rosemary bread (bomb) and jalapeño cheese curds. I will definitely be back to enjoy the quality service and pace for a weeknight dinner. read more

My friend and I were in Tucson on a business trip so we randomly picked The Saddle to have dinner and it turned out to be a great pick! Staff was very friendly!! The chef came over to our table and gave us a free piece of berry pie that was just baked earlier that day. The pie was fabulous!! I had the chicken club sandwich and my friend had the honey salmon with Brussel sprouts and both meals were delicious!! It was obvious that the chef is very passionate about the food he prepares. Fun college place. Surprisingly good customer service--even on SuperBowl Sunday! They kept the table clear, offered water, held the ice (often forgotten) and kept the drinks coming. Great sound system, felt like I was in a surround sound theater! Food was fun, had a fried pickle, the Bent Balls and the peach pecan cobbler. My companion had an old fashioned and enjoyed the balance of sour and sweet. The drink looked a little puny, but it was made with good booze, a large ice cube with dark cherry and orange slice. Great spot. Walked in and it was kind of small but but plenty of seating. I sat at the bar and the stools are small for a normal human butt. I had the chicken dinner and it was absolutely delicious!!! Chicken was juicy and the breading had great flavor. The mashed potatoes were fresh and gravy was on point the green beans were just green beans nothing special. I asked for hot sauce and was told they didn't have any which I found strange but after I was done another server had it.. don't know what was going on there..I also had the peach cobbler for dessert and it was excellent tasted fresh!
