Delicious gelato with a diverse fun range of flavors. My favorite that I tried was the PB&J. The peanut butter gelato had the perfect amount of peanut flavor and the jelly swirl was a perfect accent. Absolutely delicious gelato!! I've been here twice and left a happy camper both times. They have gelato, sorbet, yogurt, and custard, but I like the gelato most. In addition to the traditional chocolate, strawberry, fruity flavors, there also many unique ones like curry managa, blueberry menage a trois, and dirty banana. Sweet cup is an amazing place to get your frozen treats! I try to get something new every time and I have never been disappointed. A fun thing to try is have your friends go in and order first. Then, sample their gelatos and try to guess the flavors (with or without looking at the labels). You get a cup with 3 oz of frozen dessert with a piece of waffle cone. Their salted caramel is to die for, as well as their pomegranate rose (I think that's what it was). I would strongly recommend sampling the "strange" flavors because they are actually quite delicious. read more

Step aside, Paciugo's. SweetCup has replaced you. I was craving dessert after brunch, so my friend and I stopped by SweetCup. I had always thought it was a froyo place, but it actually has froyo, gelato, and sorbet. The inside is small but nicely designed, and it definitely has more of a local business feel. What I loved was the service here. The worker was so welcoming and patient with us while we were trying out different flavors. He was obviously very educated about the business and the products, and I could tell he actually cared about customer service. Definitely a reason I'll be back. My friend and I got a small (3 flavors) to split and ordered Granizado, Salted Caramel, and Pistachio gelato. So so good. They also came with two complimentary waffle chips. Unfortunately, the prices here are about the same as Paciugo's, but SweetCup also offers espresso/coffee beverages and other dessert options as well, so I'd like to try those next time I'm there. read more

I found this great gelato gem through yelp and boy am I glad. Hands down, best gelato in this city! They have great unique flavors and flavors seem to rotate daily. I love the unique use of the ingredients they decide to incorporate into their gelato. They also serve sherbert and custard which are just as delicious as the gelato. Tons of cool flavors like cardamon and kulfi, spiced chai, blueberry mascarpone so they get major props for variety and trying new stuff. My first time here. It was a far distance but it was worth the drive. I had 3 flavors in one-- one was choc.ameretto, the other two flavors were a cherry and a rum flavor. I don't know what i am going to do next time since normally i put the flavors that i like the most in the bottom of my waffle cone, and now there is a toss up between salted caramel and the owner's creation the Texas kulfi...great twist on the kulfi which is one of my favorite ice creams to begin with. Found this place through Yelp. Went with the family. Ages ranged from 6 to 37 and everyone was extremely satisfied with everything we tried. The woman working there this particular afternoon was particularly friendly, allowing the person I was eating with and me to try as many flavors as we wanted. She explained that SweetCup has over 80 flavors that they rotate through on a regular basis--just one more reason to go on a regular basis! There's a combination of yogurt, gelato, and sorbet. (The gelatos were generally my favorites.) Some high points: Tiramisu Granizado (chocolate and dulce de leche) Pomegranate Rose Sadly, I found the coffee to be weak, watery, and only lukewarm. I have had authentic gelato in Italy from Milan to Rome...and Sweet Cup is the closest thing to it in Houston. I could not believe how patient they are with each customer as they tediously let you taste all of the flavors, even while a line is forming. The staff is always really friendly and encourages your trying every flavor (because you really must). Pricing is decent for the product. Only improvement would be to allow loyal customers to combine reward cards (but then, it's really just my fault for being terrible at hanging onto them). We came back :). Seems like the problem with "how do I get Gelato into the cup easily" is not solved yet, BUT I had much more Gelato in my cup than last time!! And there were more people to help out :). This time I had the salty caramel which is now my favorite....it tastes sooooo great! I could not believe how good it was, such a rich flavor! I also got strawberry-cheesecake which was great too! I liked the big pieces of real strawberry inside :D. I want to give 10 stars :). Will be back soon! read more

Wow this place was fantastic. I had a seasonal Basil Lime, and neither flavor was overpowering the other. I love the variety of flavors available, and that there is always a new flavor when I come back. It's so hard to choose a favorite, but I'm leaning toward the ones with cardamom or flowers. +1 for pomegranate rose. In addition, there's a really good selection of caffeinated drinks. Besides mocha, latte, etc., you can get a chai latte. Iced. Yeeees. The cafe is very clean. The servers are polite and helpful. People are there at any time of day, no kidding. The only problem I had was the shortage of seating on a weekday evening and parking! but I guess that also means that this place is very popular. read more

It's a cute and modern gelato place. Lots of yummy and unique flavors to choose from. This was my first time coming here. Was in the montrose area and was craving ice cream..saw this business was closeby. I was greeted by a friendly staff member and was able to sample a few flavors. You can taste whatever you want, then you decide what will be in your cup. I always have something related to fruit or veggies like strawberry, pineapple, pomegranate,...
