Don't get me wrong, I love sweetgreen.. just not this location. You would think for being open for so long they would have some semi efficient way of making salads faster during lunch. It took me 20 mins to even get in the door and another 15/20 to get to order. All the staff working were all moving very slowly like it wasn't the lunch rush. The girl making my salad did not even mix it properly, all my ingredients stayed where they were pre-mix. Good food, terribly slow service. Whenever I go to chipotle around the same time, the line is just as long but wait time is literally half of Sweetgreen's. read more

I love that a sweet green is finally near my office! The lines can get long during the lunch rush but it moves relatively quickly. It's great having a fast casual healthy option for lunch. I loved their salads and one of my fav dressings is the miso sesame ginger dressing. I recently tried the new Mexican corn elote bowl and its delicious! My review today is on the service only. I ordered a salad for lunch today online to avoid the wait time around the lunch rush hour. I anticipated my salad being ready at 12:30 as I selected however today there were at least 15 people waiting on salads that we ordered on-line. To make matters worse, the staff were making salads at random based on who complained the loudest rather than when they were received. There was clearly no real system being used to deal with the rush. I would have been better off waiting in line. I love the salad but won't be ordering online again from this location. Wide selection of greens and toppings. Everything looked and tasted fresh. I got a custom made salad, and I didn't pair my toppings well. A few of my friends had the store designed salad bowls and loved them. I got the spicy cashew dressing and I loved it! I would recommend that salad dressing. The blue cheese is very strong, so think twice before adding it to your salad. The blue cheese overpowered my entire dish. Customer service was friendly. Everyone seemed eager to answer questions. I ordered salads here two days in a row for lunch while I was in Crystal City for a work meeting. They use very fresh ingredients. I ordered the OMG Omega the first day and the Kale Caesar another. Both salads were very good! The staff is very friendly. Special kudos to the staff and manager who served me today. I ordered two salads on-line on the 2nd day but didn't realize I requested them for the wrong Arlington location. I live in California so I wasn't familiar with the area. When I went to pick it up it wasn't there. The server discussed it with her manager and he agreed to make me the salads, at no additional cost, and cancel my order at the other location. Sweetgreen salads are good, when made right. My problem with them is they frequently run out of bread by 8 or 8:30pm. Tonight is the third time in a row that they're out of bread. When this happens, they are not in the least bit apologetic, nor do they offer anything to make up for it. I use the sweetgreen app frequently to order ahead of time, and there's no way to tell if your order is gonna come with bread or not. $10 salad with no sides. Annoying. read more

So excited to have our own local success story and chain open up so close to Crystal City apartments. This is a deal breaker as many people don't need to travel far anymore. The selection of greens, combinations and seasonal flavors is my favorite part. I love places that does healthy, tasty options based on local products. SweetGreen hits on all marks. I definitely wouldn't call this fast food, but the ability to get a healthy meal in just a few minutes is really a nice option here on Crystal Drive. I really like the fact that they have all of the ingredients laid out it's mostly organic and you can get a good feel for the calories that you're consuming.. the ambience is very laid-back and the staff was very helpful and willing. It looks like a heavy lunch crowd with the ability to order via mobile phone which makes a quick pick up very easy. I'll definitely be frequenting this place when I'm in town on business. read more

I eat here 2-3 times a week, ever since it opened. The quality and service are definitely on the slide. Lots of servers standing around when there are long lines, checking their phones and chatting away. Ingredients running out, people in the back also standing around not supporting the front servers. I've stopped getting arugula because it's usually old, and yellowing instead of bright green. The original team who were fantastic, have gone, new employees are not the a-team. It is a solid healthy option in the crystal city area. For those that aren't familiar, Sweetgreen is a salad place that has multiple locations in the DC area. If you download the sweetgreen app, you get a $9 credit for every $99 spent. Not a great deal, but I suppose it is better than nothing. This particular location is great since it is on crystal drive with all the other restaurants and coldstone is next door. Not many seats here, but there is also tables and seats in the courtyard area across the street. I prefer making my own salad here as opposed to any of their specialty salads. I have had the Guacamole Greens a number of times, but I think I am just sick of it. Nevertheless, it is a good lunch or dinner option if you want something lite. read more

Went to this place for the first time and I have to say I was very disappointed by their customer service. Told the server it was my fist time there and he told the staff but didn't suggest anything after that. Waited a while to be served and then when another server took my order she rushed me so quickly through the line that I didn't get a chance to ask her for an extra topping till the end after asking multiple times. She apologized to the guy in front of me for the wait and gave him his meal for free and didn't say a word to me. I then went to grab a fork and didn't find any forks so I had to ask and the same server told me they had no forks left! And that I had to get one from next door. If I had done this rating a few weeks ago I would have given sg 2-3 stars. But today I found a salad that will have me going back for more! It's the hummus tahina salad with baby spinach and mesclun substituted for the romaine and kale. I ate every last bite and it held on the very end. The baked falafel was so tasty and flavorful and simply delicious. I ordered online too to save the line which is crazy around lunch. The app also tells you calories for those cal counters. My previous bad experiences? I've had a few now. I don't like the strawberry field salad, something about the dressing. I ask for light to medium and mine was drenched. I couldn't finish, yuck. I also had the steel head omg omega which I could not finish bc it tasted like a funky tuna fish salad. It was a punishment salad. And finally I had their kale Caesar and learned that I really don't like kale salads, but that might just be me. My friend recommended you make your own there and she is right if you are picky. I like to go with their base salads and make modifications as needed. The app is convenient and you can decide on your own without the pressure of the line and salad maker. This place not only served a healthy salad, but you can customize it to meet your dietary needs. If you're paleo, you're all set. If your vegan, you're all set. What ever you want!
