In the past, I've been reluctant to buy salads when purchasing takeout. At least twice a week, I make my own salads for lunch, and I just hadn't found a place that I thought matched the quality of a homemade salad. When I bought salads, ingredients were often not fresh, the dressings didn't cut it for me, and so on. And then Sweetgreen opened in Fenway last year. Now I'm here at least once a week! Their salads are always fresh and their dressings are delicious. I love the combinations they come up with, too. Sure, they're a little pricey for a salad, but I'd rather pay a bit more than use my free time to spend a half hour or more chopping vegetables. I'm proud to say I'm a regular - keep up the good work, Sweetgreen! And thank you for keeping me a little healthier ;-) read more

Delicious salads with ingredients that you can taste are fresh! Since this location is new, there's always a pretty long line, but the service is very quick!! I ordered the patriot with chicken and it was filling and delicious. I love that each salad comes with a piece of bread. Although it isn't a hearty slice like Paneras dishes out, but it suffices. I like this place for healthy fast food. And I love how they list the calories. The place is always clean and the warm bowls always taste great. My only complaint are the portions for the salads. Don't get me wrong they are HUGE but of mostly leafy greens. Some are vegetarian, and to feel full it takes a lot more than a tablespoon of lentils, a teaspoon of walnuts and a half of an avocado to feel satisfied. Oh an the broccoli? Like three little pieces I mean come on. Maybe it's my fault for not ordering the non-vegetarian options. I just feel like I'm tasting a lot more of greens and dressing than anything else. Warm bowls are always great but salads leave me underwhelmed as they seriously control the portions probably because it's expensive. But to be honest I would rather pay an extra couple dollars to have a wholesome salad than to pay 10.50 and feel hungry a couple of hours later. Anyways, this is probalby the only fast food place I eat at. I could never understand how people eat five guys, McDonald's, and what not. I love junk food too but with quality if you know what I mean. read more

So stoked that a sweetgreen finally opened here!! I love their environment, energy, branding, and of course, their salads. Sweetgreen is perhaps the best salad place I have been to. It's great for health nuts or anyone. I used to go to their other locations in NY, but could not find any decent salad place in Boston until Sweetgreen opened. The Harvest Bowl and Rad Thai are my favorite in terms of flavor. The salad still tastes amazing, even if I get light dressing. Their greens are always fresh, their staff are often young and energetic. Especially this new location in Brookline, I had such a great experience with their staff. I highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Love the food and the ability to choose what you want. My favorite is the apple and pear fall pick. Not the biggest fan of this location though. Small things that I ask for (like bread) are treated like a big hassle out of the line cook's day. I will be sticking to other locations from now on. read more

I was surprised when they gave me ~3 pieces of cut-up broccoli and wanted to charge me extra for three more. I asked because I could barely see any in the bowl and she was about to close it up. The portion is just too small, and I'm a 100lb girl. Then when they proceeded to mix the finished salad, pieces of spinach flew out...I asked if they can add some extra spinach back and got a sort of annoyed attitude. They were also kind of rude when i asked for a to-go bag (I only had a clutch with me) and threw a dozen on the counter in front of me and walked away. Oh well, I packed up and went. So overall, not the greatest customer experience and the salad was mediocre at best for the price. I've been to Sweetgreen in Backbay and Cava right next door, both of which seem to be more customer friendly with better food. Next time when i'm in Fenway, this I will skip unfortunately. read more

I love sweetgreen. Been going to the back bay and prudential locations since they've opened. The salads are good even though pricey, but I love their concept. 90% of the time ingredients are super fresh, +\- the occasional salad grit. I was so happy that the Fenway location opened as I work in the area and now had a healthy lunch and dinner option. BUT, service here is really bad no matter what time of day. And I go here at least 2-3x a week. I tend to eat lunch later because I know they'll be swamped, but I've only had mediocre experiences here any day and time. They used to make the online pick up times 30mins, which seemed extreme for off hours, but recently scaled it back to 15mins increments. I don't expect 15-30mins to hold for lunch hour rush. Completely understandable because of the volume. But at 4:30pm on a Tuesday, I'm surprised I'm still waiting 10-15 mins AFTER my promised pickup time for my salad. Often I come in and there is a string of order receipts on the printer in the back counter, but no one really there. There's a line of us at the pick up shelf and 1 very harried looking worker trying to process once they realize the orders have piled up. If I come in at 3pm to order in person, there is no line but I stand awkwardly at the counter for 2-3mins before someone appears to take my order. I look at the person at the register and the 2 people doing prep work, but still no one at the counter. Ordering on a Saturday night at 7pm, with 2 people in line, there's enough people working, but they've run out of apples and sweet potatoes for the harvest bowl, no bread either, but built the order anyway and was charged full price. And this is all just within the last month! There is 1 employee that is totally awesome and efficient, and I will only brave lines if she's working the counter. If not, I'll settle for saloniki or chipotle :/ I don't know. Many months have passed since they opened and I was hoping they'd find a groove in operations, but it's just getting worst. I get part of this is also turnover, but there's also a consistency issue here in terms of execution. read more

If I was rating on food alone, this location (and all Sweetgreens) would receive a 5 star rating, however I've been to this location 2 days in a row now and I'm giving them a 3 star rating. The employees are just...lazy? Usually when I get my salad with dressing on the side they'll at least ask if I want them to mix it up. Not here - they just don't mix it. I wasn't offered bread yesterday when I ordered in person, and didn't receive it today when I ordered through the app, and specifically requested it. I can't compare this place to the one in back bay. Sure, the one in back bay is small and the lines can be out the door but they always seem to have it together. I came to this location and there were only three staffers (not their fault) but because of that they were behind on prepping ingredients and the person who made my kale caesar bowl forgot to add in the squeeze of lime and Parmesan crisps. Thankfully they didn't overcharge me for the avocado I added in because that was the ingredient they didn't have out at the moment which resulted in a long line of people. I felt bad for the workers because they seemed so out of it with little help they had. Other than that I can't say much else! Still love sweetgreens. Just might double think this location. read more

I frequent the sweetgreen at the prudential center and was excited to try the one at Fenway. Ive been twice now and have been disappointed with my salads both times. They only give you about 2/3 of a full bowl and way overdress. I asked for light the first time and couldn't even eat it because it was drenched in dressing (you could barely see that there was lettuce under the balsamic) and the second time I went the server didn't even ask how much dressing I wanted and I had to jump in to stop him from drenching my salad again. I will be sticking to the prudential and boylston st stores from now on. read more

Not allergen friendly. Over the past month, Sweetgreen Fenway has been unable to accommodate a simple nut allergy 5 times -- with potentially life-threatening consequences. From adding nuts to a salad that does not have nuts in the ingredients, to clear cross-contamination issues including stray nuts in salads, it's evident that Sweetgreen is NOT for anyone with a food allergy. Time and time again, customer service has apologized, refunded me, and said they would look into the matter. Eventually they suggested that I only order in person, a request that seems counter-intuitive, as during the lunch rush, the counter becomes littered with stray ingredients. Ordering ahead used to be the only way to ensure no cross contamination. Bottom line, if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies, stay away. Such a shame. read more
