Since they moved to Boylston street, we decided to try them out again. I got the chicken souvlaki plate - which came with a single skewer, rice and salad and tzatziki. I also got the Yayas soup which was very salty and sour and tangy - I could barely eat a few spoonfuls. The spicy lamb meatballs were really good and tasted great with the tzatziki. Hubs had the chicken gyro which was ok. I got this for pickup and it was ready in 10-15 minutes when I got there. We are outside the restaurant at the tables outside. I was visiting Boston last week where we ordered Saloniki to be delivered to our friends house and the food was delicious tasting but then I took a bite of my wrap that had zucchini and there was a piece of glass that had been cooked inside the zucchini. It was terrifying! I didn't get any injuries, and was able to pull the glass out after biting on it. no one else found glass in their food but I wanted to report to the restaurant right away, however I've continuously called them since last week and left voicemails telling them about glass in my food and have not received any callback or any follow up! Saloniki is a great place to stop by in the Fenway area. They have a big menu and even have some options with plant-based protein (impossible meat). I got the impossible wrap this past time and it was very filling! I also enjoy their fries here (ask for no cheese to make them vegan) and if you're a student, you can get a free side of fries if you show your current student ID. Little insider tip! Came back to Saloniki (thanks Deanne for encouraging us to return). And this time we stayed and ate there. The experience vs taking out is different. We placed our orders in front, there are also computers to place orders. Then they give you a number, and a server will come with your food to the table. There are many tables and countertop area to sit. This time we ordered the lamb and grain bowl, this was so delicious! It came with a tomato based sauce and a ton of gigantes beans, my favorite beans! The lamb balls were tender and delicious. Hubby ordered the lamb pita, with fries on the side. He loved it. Saloniki Greek is honestly an underrated chain in the Boston area. Came on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch, and there was a number of other people around. The space is large and bright, with a variety of seating options for groups of different sizes or individuals just looking for a quick meal. We ordered at the kiosk, grabbed a number, and the employees were quick to bring out our food when it was ready. I got the Peach Lemonade, Braised Pork Pita, and the two of us split the Greek Doughnuts in Caramel & Pistachio for dessert. The texture of the pita was perfect, and the meat and other fillings blended together nicely. The doughnuts came out fresh, and I really enjoyed the crispy outer texture plus the chewiness of the inside. When I went back and told them what happened and showed them the photo they actually remade my food which was the kindest gesture ever. It's been seven years since my first review. It deserves an update. This is my favorite place to go after rage shopping at Target. Or after a late pm doc appt. I no longer live in Quincy so I can take yummy food to go and it doesn't get too cold. The souvlaki chicken pita is our go to. The chicken is perfection. The sauce is flavorgasmic. The pita is great. Heats well in both oven and microwave. I order 2. Hub and I split one for 2 meals. Half of one is a decent amount of food. Fries aren't my favorite but the hubs enjoys. Nicest staff. Love coming! Pre-pandemic review: Back when concerts were still a thing, my husband and I had a quick dinner here before heading over to House of Blues. I'd been craving a gyro similar to what I had in Greece, and unfortunately this wasn't it. I got the Herc pita because I can't resist pork shoulder and the spicy whipped feta sounded so good, but it was lacking in flavor. There was plenty of pork but I oddly wished there was less because it didn't add anything to the pita and in fact was my least favorite part. The fries however were 5-star-worthy. Garlicky, crispy, soft inside--totally delicious. I ended up picking them out of my pita and enjoying them on their own because they were easily the best part. My husband went with a more traditional pita, and he enjoyed it more than I enjoyed mine although it was much smaller than we were expecting. We also got a side order of fries which were, again, delicious. Prices were reasonable in general, and the restaurant was nicely decorated although oddly deserted. Ordered the feta puffs, which come with hot honey, the spanakopita pita, and the honey-cinnamon donuts as apps/dessert. All so yummy. The donuts tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal (yum!) and were reminiscent of carnival fried dough (double yum!). My partner ordered the grilled chicken pita and loved it. I got the zucchini-feta fritter pita and it was really good. The fritters were flavorful, though soft, so next time I'd try a different protein. If you want a simple but yummy meal, I would suggest Saloniki! I've been to other chains they have in the Boston area and all of them never disappoint. I typically get the Mt Olympus Salad and it is a hearty bowl that keeps me full, and I also love the plates that they have as well.
