There was no olive oil and very little sauce. They provided no red peppers for the pizza and I didn't have any at home so we went without. The soups were not very pleasant. I would say they tasted like packaged soups but I can't prove that. The butternut soup seemed powdery so perhaps that one was more likely not a scratch soup. These soups, the butternut and the tomato just definitely didn't have the quality of a scratch soup. Previously we had ordered soup at this location and it was provided with the bread bowl on the side. This time we ordered the soup without a bread bowl and they didn't provide it in the package anyway. The meal was not ready when we arrived. A message came to us by text that our meal would be delayed. It didn't say how much but when we arrived at the time for pickup he informed us it would be at least 10 more minutes "for cooking the pizza" which was definitely undercooked. No napkins provided in the bag with the soups. I'm thinking this is a place that doesn't have alot of takeout experience and hasn't thought through the process of preparing a to-go package for take-out. As far as ambiance, the restaurant was empty when I showed up at 516PM on Friday night. I don't expect it will be there very much longer. Good luck.

The favorite items over the few years are the Korean fried chicken special which comes with spicy fried chicken paired with rice and macaroni salad. You can never go wrong with the many burger/fry options either. Every order is made to order so super fresh. So yes the wait sometimes does get long during peak lunchtime hours. Overall, I think the prices are pretty affordable, they have daily lunch specials and for the limited space and staff they do well. Just know if you have a limited lunch break, lunch rush might take like 30 minutes so plan accordingly.

This is not something I normally observe, but the diced red peppers and tomatoes were cut into very consistently sized pieces. Of course, this is not a make or break consideration for choosing any bowl restaurant however, this attention to detail appears to be carried throughout the cooking and bowl making process and is actually something you will appreciate. For example, I added a protein-decently sized portion of chicken breast which was unexpectedly juicy, tender, flavorful, and good tasting! (Normal bowl places will typically serve chicken that is at a minimum somewhat to considerably dry, chewy, tasteless, and cold). Other details included nicely chilled romaine and veggies and the warm brown rice was perfectly contrasting in temperature. Hidden under the veggies and chicken was a well balanced and complex (but not too spicy) red Thai (coconut based?) curry sauce. This was so good. Next time I will ask for double sauce. The bowl was a good size and solid value especially considering all items are organic. I found out the chicken was so tender since they use the sous vide cooking method. I believe all items including the proteins are organic. The spring roll bowl was also quite good with plenty of veggies, quinoa, tofu, a light sauce, also with the very tender chicken. After ordering at the kiosk, I could see that Elixir has a wide variety of visible ingredients behind the counter in the chilled serving station. Speaking of bowl options it was also my understanding you can order a "build your bowl" option, which would also be very interesting for a future visit. Service was prompt even though there were many customers as they were having a soft grand opening. I interacted with several employees and they were all very friendly and helpful. Elixir Superfood - 7/10…read more Beware the tiny women with small appetites who just finished Pilates, because the açaí bowls are MASSIVE. As a dude who picks up heavy things, I was excited about the food volume but I know my partner would need to offload the leftovers to her garbage disposal of a boyfriend. I stopped by Elixir Superfood near UCI for breakfast because I wanted an açaí bowl. Funny enough, I didn't realize there was a Blue Bowl right around the corner or I probably would have gone there. Still, I'm glad I gave Elixir a shot. The first thing I noticed was the size. When they handed me the bowl, it was heavy. This thing is thick with two C's. I was expecting a normal açaí bowl, but this was a legit meal. One thing I wasn't thrilled about was the pricing. There are quite a few upcharges. Adding protein cost me another $2.50, and after a 10% tip the total came out to around $20. That's definitely on the expensive side. That said, I do appreciate that they offer protein. Blue Bowl is great, but it's more of a Chipotle-style build-your-own setup, and you can't really add protein. Since I lift, having that option actually matters to me. Flavor-wise, it's exactly what you'd expect. It's a good açaí bowl. Nothing mind-blowing, but nothing disappointing either. The lid did flatten the presentation a bit, but let's be honest, you're about to destroy it anyway, so who really cares? I was also pleasantly surprised that the rest of the menu looked solid. They have salads, rice bowls, protein bowls, juices, and everything I saw looked pretty good. I only tried the açaí bowl this time, but I'd come back to try some of the other food. Overall, I'd give Elixir Superfood a 7/10. It's above average, mostly because of the portion size. If you're just getting a standard bowl without a bunch of add-ons, I think it's a pretty good value. If you like loading your bowl up with lots of toppings, Blue Bowl is probably still the better choice. But as someone who powerlifts, I actually appreciated getting a bigger, more filling breakfast here.
