I've heard the Peruvian Steak, Prosciutto, and Chicken are good too! My only feedback with the Happy Hippie is that there is slightly too much filling, so it falls when you are eating the sandwich. Each of their sandwiches comes with two halves and is filling and satisfying. They also use fresh, vibrant vegetables, and a store associate told me their bread is baked fresh every day! Service: The service here is half the reason I come! A lovely store associate will guide you when ordering, and they will bring the food right to you! When they bring the food, there are two napkins on the tray. If they see you carrying your tray after you are finished eating, they will also offer to take it for you! Although the sandwich prices are slightly premium, you are paying for their healthy ingredients and exceptional service! 8/05/26 5:18 p.m. University Town Center I decided to try the Peruvian Steak today without avocado. I usually order the Not So Fried Chicken, but I wanted to switch things up. I'd rate the Peruvian Steak an 8.5/10. The bread was perfectly toasted, the mustard added just the right amount of kick, and all of the flavors complemented each other well. It would have been a perfect 10/10 if one side of the bottom bun hadn't been completely soggy from the mustard spilling out of the sandwich. I ordered my sandwich to go, so if I had waited until I got home to eat it, I think the entire bottom of the sandwich would have been soggy. That was disappointing. For to-go orders, I think Mendocino Farms should automatically serve the mustard in a separate sauce container to help prevent this issue. My other qualm was with the pickup process. When I received the text that my order was ready, it read: "Your order at Mendocino Farms - 10 - UC Irvine is ready for pickup. Please proceed to the counter." Some restaurants have signs explaining whether customers should grab their to-go orders themselves or wait for a team member to assist them. I waited patiently at the counter for several minutes while a team member saw me standing there but didn't acknowledge me. After about five minutes, I finally asked, "Can I grab my order?" The process felt confusing and could have been communicated more clearly. Overall, I thought the sandwich was delicious and a great portion size. However, I think the to-go process could use some improvement. Tough call... This is my favorite Mendocino Farms location out of at least five I have been to around Orange County. The problem with this sandwich chain is one and only: They have a huge issue with quality consistency. Ask their managers and they will tell you that the portions and sandwiche ingredients are strictly measured, but as a customer you know that's not the case. You go to some places and get these tiny sandwiches with two slices of bread and barely any ingredients in between. The Tustin location, located in Whole Foods has been the worst offender at this by far. Now this Campus Drive location has been creating the best, most generous, consistent sandwiches. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen every time still. It all depends on who you get as you cook on that day, crafting your sandwich. Some day sandwiches that get to the table are juicy and enjoyable, and sometimes, they come out to be disappointedly small, with minimum amount of ingredients. I had to complain to the manager a couple of times, but it doesn't help. Every time I come here, I pray to get the right chef who will make my sandwich well. Wow, I really liked it here. They are known for their farm fresh sandwiches. The menu looked so good it was hard to choose. The friendly cashier gave me a few of their own personal recommendations. I went with the 1/2 sandwich combo and chose the pesto chicken sandwich . I was told that their cheese is award winning and straight from Wisconsin and the pesto is made in house. Sold. I selected the southern potato salad as my side. The sandwich was filling and tasty and made me feel good after eating it. The potato salad also passes the test . I also sampled their mint lemonade and that was refreshing on a hot day. There's seating available both inside and outside of the restaurant. Free and easy parking is available in the lot. The food here is very good. There is a good range of options for everyone to be happy with. There is a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating, but it can be hard to find a spot during meal rushes. The drink selection is subpar with the only fountain drinks being high in sugar. The servers were all kind and able to answer any questions posed. The bathrooms can be an issue with there being a women's and gender neutral bathroom. This means all of the people trying to use the gender neutral bathroom may wait a long time for the line to die down as it is a single stall. read more

Always a fun place to visit for lunch. This location gets pretty busy given all the students on campus. Great selection of sandwiches, soups, sides and chips. The space is fun to be in for lunch, quite vibrant. I often use Mendocino for my lunch and learn presentations by ordering catering in advance. A lot of times I don't order till last minute the day before, but they are always accommodating and make it happen for me to pick up on time the next day. There were students studying and other individuals grabbing a bite before heading back to work. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas were nearly full, but luckily, we found a spot at one of the high-top tables with stools. The restaurant has open seating, but they conveniently provide QR codes to scan so they can deliver your food to the correct table. Despite the crowd, our food was ready in just 10 minutes. I got the Farm Club and a side of Thai Sweet Potato Soup. I think this is the best combo, especially on a chilly, overcast day. The Farm Club is super fresh, with the pickled red onions providing the perfect compliment to the salty bacon. Switching back and forth between the Thai Sweet Potato Soup and the sandwich creates one of the best flavor pairings. They also do a decent Chinese Chicken salad and my husband is addicted to their Impossible Taco salad. I've never had a problem until my last visit when I ordered Turkey Avo Salsa Verde without the jalapeno salsa aioli and the pickled peppers for pick up for my daughter.
