I was looking for something healthy while in the area, and Yelp led me here. It was my first time at Sweetgreen, so it definitely took me a minute to figure out what I wanted. I've been coming to this Sweet Green location for about four years and have always had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. I was charged $9 for two sides when I normally pay around $6 and some change for the exact same order. When I questioned the price, the employee assisting the cashier had a very rude attitude and immediately stated that no changes would be made. Lets start with the positive. The food is so amazing and that is the only reason why Im giving this place a 2 star. Now for the bad part... I am a huge fan of sweetgreen. But this location is simply not it. Every single time I have ordered from this location, something is off. For the fifth time I showed up and there was no salmon ready. Even though I ordered online, when I got there they told me there was no salmon ready. So they made me wait until they prepared new salmon. You would think that I was killing them by asking for salmon. Now the workers at this location act like you are the worst person on earth for ordering salmon. They have a terrible attitude every time and quite honestly ruin the moment for me. Instead of being apologetic about the salmon they choose to be rude. I showed up to this place around 7pm and didnt leave until 7:30ish because of how long it took to make my food. On top of that the rest of my salad had been sitting out waiting on the salmon. And you would think I was there 5 minutes before closing with all the attitude. But no I was there about 3 hours before closing. I recently had my standard Harvest Bowl from this location and got severe food poisoning immediately after. My doctor said it was likely from the rice since that tends to affect people super quickly and I do remember a bit of it being uncooked. My obstacle with Sweetgreen was how challenging/impossible it was to get ahold of a live person to relay this. I was unable to reach a live person via the phone and only able to let them know through "chat" or AI. They gave me a refund and a pat email about how they take things like this seriously. I have always wanted to eat at Sweetgreen! It always reminded me of Tender Greens, but more... green! This location has a small parking lot available, which is great considering the area. Unfortunately, there's only about 5 spots available! The interior is quite spacious, they have a nice seating area on the second floor. Their menu consists of salads and warm bowls, all of which sound very healthy. I asked the service representatives for some suggestions and they kindly offered up a variety of popular menu items and favorites! I decided to try their featured item, the Hot Honey Chicken Plate! I was a bit surprised by how small my plate was, but what to do. The hot honey mustard dressing was a nice accompaniment to my meal. The walnuts were also a nice touch, cause it added a nice crunch! The chicken was well flavored, and the sweet potatoes were super yummy. Surprisingly, I was quite content by the end of the meal! Good salads and a good place to eat healthy! I have been to this location before the pandemic and this is the first time back 15 minutes into our situation. I can't believe I have yet to make a review. Here goes. In the subject of ordering for take out and customer service. I ordered through their app thinking it would be convenient for all parties. The estimated time was given to me at 12:35 however, at 12:30, they still haven't made my lunch. No hard feelings at all but upon arrival I see that they are slammed. Not too many people are ordering but the side were pickup and delivery was crowded. One of the crew members kindly gathered all the delivery people outside and said he would personally bring them out to them. The remainder of us stayed at the counter where another crew member helped with people who ordered from their app. They apologized for being behind but honestly, the way they handled each customer with courtesy and kindness, I completely understand and don't mind to wait patiently. As hectic as it was, they stayed in communication, was organized and efficient. At the end, I was handed my order with friendliness. THANK YOU, 3RD STREET SWEET GREENS! You all are doing so awesome and I appreciate you all handling the orders and still creating an awesome vibe! In the subject of food: I have not gotten anything bad here. Sweet Green take out via Uber for birthday celebration. We purchased 3 bowls online via Uber. When it arrived, all the dishes had hair in them. We called Uber to complain about it which was fruitless as they did not initiate any refund or replacement. Eventually they refunded for 1 dinner only. We called the credit card to make a claim which provided a credit to us for the food and delivery service 100%. However, when we used Uber again, they refused to offer service until we paid them for the food we originally complained about. There is no way to contact Sweet Green directly to advise them of this situation. I do not recommend this restaurant nor getting Uber for food delivery. I want to start out by saying I had just finished a 12 hour shift at the hospital and was picking up salads for my wife and myself. I hadn't had sweetgreen in a long time and was very excited. I arrived at 7:40pm 20 min before closing as I rushed from glendale to make sure i made it in time. I wait my turn in line. I get to the front and I ask for the new seasonal KBBQ steak salad which I was stoked about because it looked so good. First thing the server says to me were out of white rice.. were getting ready to close. I say no problem! give me the wild rice. Next he says oh man we're out of the steak with the KBBQ glaze. the waiter said to me its fine I can give you the regular steak and add the glaze. The server then realizes there was maybe 1 portion left of the steak left. The server then proceeds to ask the patron behind me in line what they were going to have. the fellow patron said the everything steak salad. The server looked at me gave me 3 pieces of steak and was like I can give you some chicken if you want for the rest? I was like please just give me the rest of the steak please. He said well the guy behind you is also going to get the steak.. I looked at him very disappointed. I said no. I told him forget about the salad thats so stupid and walked out. I can't believe the server decided to ask the patron behind me in line what they were going to order and decided the best option was to give me 3 pieces of steak and offer me the rest with chicken. He might as well asked the person who was last in line what they wanted then too? what ever happened to first come first serve? I left without getting a salad and this left me so frustrated and honestly angry after this encounter. The server had mentioned he was new. Options: 1. Close early if you don't have the food. 2. Make sure there is enough food to get you to closing. 3. GIve the patron who waited in line the portion he waited for instead being a soup kitchen trying to give equal portions. I don't have the words for how angry I was. I have worked in customer service and concessions before. This was below par. I have never written a review before. THis is even a day later! This was my first time trying this place. I was greeted with a big smile by Nathan as I walked in. Since it was my first time I asked for some recommendations. Nathan recommend a few items and I went with the Miso Glazed Salmon. I added some of my own things like peppers and tomatoes. Nathan was very patient with me and kind. If you are looking for an overpriced fast food salad place where you 50+ ingredient choices, you won't be disappointed. The food was very fresh and high quality. The service is cheerful and fast. They don't automatically give me wasteful to-go packaging when I'm eating in. They are happy to customize and they don't try to up sell. (So refreshing.) They have a few outdoor tables (and indoor tables) if you want to eat right away. If this is what you're in the mood for, they do a knock up job. Admittedly, though I'm a good girl in real life, I'm a bit of a salad whore. This is not my personal favorite expensive salad chain, but that's so subjective. It's in a relatively convenient location for me, and so I'm happy it's here. I'll keep coming back until one of my other favorite salad/juice places opens a spot closer to home.
