    Viale Di Parma
    Ericka B.

Best sandwich spot in town! I'm honestly not even a sandwich kind of gal but Viale di Parma is the best sandwich I've ever had and that's an understatement - just try it and you'll know what I mean! Whenever I have friends/family that visit me in LA, I take them here and they also agree and that says a lot! If you've never been here, please go! They deserve all the love and recognition. Service is pretty fast and there's indoor and outdoor seating. It's not a big place but since it's a sandwich shop, people come in & out fairly quickly so it's not too bad! Definitely add to your list!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while because so many people rave that it has one of the best sandwiches in LA. Unfortunately, I left pretty disappointed. I do want to start by saying the service was great. Everyone was welcoming, and my order came out quickly. I ordered the Di Parma, and to me it was just bland. The prosciutto was salty, as expected, but everything else, including the bread, lacked flavor. I kept eating, hoping it would get better, but it never did. The sandwich just felt underwhelming from start to finish. I know a lot of people love the bread, but I didn't find it to be anything special. Overall, it was really disappointing, especially for a sandwich that's around $30. At that price, I expected much more flavor and a more memorable experience.

My husband and I LOVED THIS PLACE! We saw a post from IG and so glad we tried it when we went to LA. We highly recommend the Di Parma with prosciutto. It was DELICIOUS! Location is perfect by Santa Monica Blvd and the cashier was really nice and helpful. Place has a nice Italian touch with a lot options for Italian cookies and pasta bags. Will be back here again!

Incredible Italian sandwiches. The special handmade bread of Florence with your choice of gourmet fillings! I love the Cardinal paper thin sliced Oven-roasted turkey breast, artichoke cream, roasted tomato, Comté cheese, baby arugula! You can add or substitute. The staff is super friendly, especially Dorathy! The sandwiches are so large enough for two people or two days! Also Mamies is very dog friendly with cute tables outside! Excellent coffee imported from Napoli!

Amazing sandwiches!! Reminds me of the sandwiches we had in Corfu!! Took it to go and ate it at picnic area at The Huntington!

I got the Viale de Guanciale (instead of the Viale de Parma bc I'm more partial to guanciale) and my boyfriend got the Colucci. Both sandwiches were wrapped very nicely and so so good! I preferred my sandwich because I loved the crunch from the pistachios and the sweetness that came from the jam. It was a good size - I only ate about half and saved the rest for later. I originally thought that the amount of guanciale was lacking but it was still an overall well balanced sandwich so I didn't mind while eating. I enjoyed the mushrooms that came in the Colucci but wanted more of the eggplant flavor to come through. For both, I could tell the quality of the ingredients itself and the freshness of the bread - which is KEY! I also got a nutella canelé (which I've never tried) and that was the perfect sweet treat to end off my meal. DEF RECOMMEND! Before you even come in, you can smell the focaccia baking. I came here on a Saturday around 11am and there was no line - it took about 10 minutes to get my sandwiches and there was ample seating inside and out. Street parking was fine - metered and non metered spots all around. Would come again if i'm in the area!!

I went here on a Monday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. We got the monaco and Eros sandwich. The service was really fast and they had seating inside and outside which was really nice. The bread on the sandwich was amazing. I did enjoy both of the sandwiches, they had a variety of options and you can also customize your own. I'd come back here again to try the other sandwiches as well! I

Tried Mamie today and it was so worth it 10/10 The meat is sliced super thin, everything tastes fresh, and the bread is perfectly crunchy on the outside but soft inside--so good. Portions were just right too, filling without being too heavy. Definitely get the chili sauce on the side, it takes it to another level Only sad part... they were sold out of the dessert bread next time for sure. Check out @the.last.lunch for a video review! I don't really go to sandwich places that much but I think this was a great first experience! The focaccia is sooo good and the sandwiches are so perfectly built and easy to eat. We got the Viale di Parma, the first item on the menu, and I thought it was good if you're into savory and sweet at the same time. The service is pretty standard and the store itself is very clean (including the restrooms!) Would definitely want to try the other items on the menu if I ever come back.

I've been craving a good sandwich for a while and damn this place hit the spot! I ordered the Eros sandwich and added sun-dried tomatoes to it. Ooooo! That first bite was delicious! Service was fine. You wait in line and place your order, they give you a number and call your number when it's ready. The space was kinda small, so my suggestion is to have one person wait by the counter for orders to be called, and the other person stake out for anyone leaving a table.

UNBELIEVABLE. Quality ingredients on freshly house-baked focaccia. Sandwich is large and absolutely shareable if you have a side. I was looking forward to the Monaco the most, but the pistachios in the Viale di Parma added a unique texture and flavor I've never had in a sandwich before. With its pleasant store front and location, I look forward to becoming a regular here.

This place was sooo yummy!!! The bread and all the ingredients are so fresh. It was fun to watch them make the sandwiches while waiting in line. The line was pretty long but moved quick! The viale di Parma is sooo yum. It has a delicious fig jam (but when you order make sure you say viale bc there's also a di parma which was also good it's like pesto and truffle). Def will be back!! The parking situation is not ideal but that's how West Hollywood is. We found street parking around the block which was free which was nice! We sat at a table inside there isn't too much seating but there's also an outside area which was nice!

What a great find in the WeHo area while taking a break from wedding dress shopping. It's on a great corner spot with both inside and outside seating. The service was good, but not great. They seemed to want to rush us through and luckily we had previewed the menu before we arrived. These Tuscan style sandwiches are my favorite of all sandwich types. And my favorite is the mortadella with straciattella cheese and pistachio cream. The one thing that I really liked about their sandwiches was the bread. It was nice and crunchy on the outside, but light and airy on the inside. I prefer this over the more dense bread at All' Antaico Vinaio.

My husband has type 1 diabetes so we very rarely eat at Italian ristorantes. Chef Tara has helped us rediscover a new world of flavor without negative impacts on my husband's blood sugar and cholesterol. (Thanks for the variety of non-dairy cheeses!!) Tip for first-timers: go when you can have the brunch or the lunch menu. Then you'll have so many options that you'll have to return! Round 1 Polpettine (meatballs) are made from lentils and texture similar to the real ones; lovely marinara sauce and ground macadamia nut instead of parmesan. Complement this with the citrus notes that highlight the sauteed swiss chard with earthy Italian butter / gigante beans. Round 2 The same beans are in the Greek goddess salad: rich with tomatoes, kalamata olives, and fresh red onions. This was a visually stunning and paired well with the Sicilian almond 'tuna' melt. The tuna is by far the most imaginative. Again, Chef Tara and the back of the house nailed the texture and I loved the hints of crunchy celery. The capers injected tiny bursts of salt and tartness. The only moderation I'd consider is slightly crisping / toasting the sandwich bread -- but the tuna melt sando is great as it is. Pura Vida is a diamond in the rough especially because the storefront is pretty discreet. I sure wish that we lived closer. We'll be back for special occasions in our life!

I never feel like a customer at Osteria La Buca -- I always feel like a guest, and that means a lot. I've been going there for quite some time, and I've tried a large portion of the menu, probably a good 90% of it. Everything has been exceptional. Their Carbonara for example, is made properly, without cream, peas, or the other abominations that many restaurants add. "Other restaurants = Take lessons. The ricotta with agave is a lovely Italian Mexican wedding, the pizzas are tasty and so many other dishes are consistently fantastic. They also have a super solid wine selection, and the ambiance is wonderful both on the main floor and in the private dining room. It was definitely one of those restaurants I used to visit very often. My absolute favorites here were the Bucatini Carbonara and the Ricotta Homemade Cheese. They were seriously SO delicious, and I ordered them almost every time I came. Oh my....... I just found a photo from 2016 on my social media -- which means it's already been 10 years! It's such an old photo, but I was so happy to find it and it brought back so many memories, so I decided to finally write a review. I've probably been here 7 or 8 times over the years. The photos and dates I was able to find are from July 3rd, 2021, October 21st, 2016, and sometime in mid-November 2019, around my birthday. Every time I came here, I would get my favorites, the Bucatini Carbonara and the Ricotta Homemade Cheese, and they were always so, so good. However, the last time I visited, I went with Mom for dinner, and although we enjoyed everything as usual, there was a hair in one of the dishes at the end of the meal. I honestly couldn't believe it. I mentioned it to our server, and I remember that they apologized and handled the situation appropriately. It was a long time ago, so I don't remember every detail clearly, but I do remember that they removed the price of that dish from the bill. At the time, I appreciated the restaurant's proper response, and because this had been one of my favorite restaurants that I had loved and visited so many times, I never posted about the incident on social media or anywhere else. I was also extremely busy with work at my office back then, so I never got around to writing anything about it. But recently, these old photos popped up on my social media, and seeing them brought back so many memories. I thought, "Wow, I really used to love this place and come here all the time!" So even though this happened a long time ago, I wanted to finally share this review. So many years have passed, but I still hear people talking about this place as a great Italian restaurant. My friend also told me that they have a location in Sherman Oaks now. Whether it's the Melrose location or Sherman Oaks, I'm thinking I should visit again sometime soon when I'm craving Italian food. I'd love to see whether the food, atmosphere, and friendly service are still as wonderful as I remember them from years ago. Plus : And just recently, I thought about this restaurant again when Italian pasta was served for lunch at my office on Thursday. My company caters lunch for all 100 employees every day, and that day's Italian pasta reminded me of all the delicious pasta I used to have here. Note : Parking here is valet parking, but if you're lucky, you might be able to find street parking nearby.

I had heard that the restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food, so I decided to try it. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was very attentive. However, one issue really disappointed me, and without it, I probably would have given this restaurant 5 stars. We ordered bottled water, and while our server was pouring it for us, he told us it was "unlimited water." However, when we received the bill, we discovered that we had been charged $10 per person for the water, for a total of $30. For our appetizer, we ordered the focaccia with ricotta cheese, and it was very good. We all enjoyed it, and there was even one piece left after everyone had eaten. For my entrée, I ordered the Agnolotti Truffle Pasta, and it was absolutely AMAZING! It was incredibly delicious and honestly one of the highlights of the entire meal for me. I would definitely come back to Alba just for this pasta. One friend ordered the Filet Toscano, and the other ordered the Branzino. We shared all three dishes so everyone could try everything, and all of the food was excellent. The portions were on the smaller side, but the quality and flavors were outstanding. I also really loved the ambience. We sat outside on the patio, and there was a small fan running behind our table, which was a nice touch. The service was also excellent overall. I drank a lot of water, and whenever my glass became empty, the server came by and refilled it. When I asked for an extra fork, it was brought very quickly. The staff was friendly, attentive, and regularly checked on us. Unfortunately, dessert was where my experience became disappointing. When I asked to see the dessert menu, our server told us that the restaurant does not have a dessert menu, but that he could tell us what desserts were available. He mentioned flan, white tiramisu, gelato, and lemon sorbet. I became curious about the white tiramisu, so I ordered it. When it arrived, one of my friends took a bite and immediately said that it tasted like there was alcohol in it. I took a bite as well, but I had to stop eating and spit it out. I had absolutely no idea that it contained alcohol, and I had not been told that it did. I personally did not want to consume alcohol, so I was very surprised. I wanted to ask our server whether there was alcohol in the tiramisu, but he was extremely busy because the restaurant was so crowded and did not come back to our table at that moment. Later, I ran into him on my way to the restroom and asked him about it. He told me that there was alcohol in it--specifically, cognac. I was honestly very surprised and asked again, "There was alcohol in it?" He then asked me if I wanted to have something else. I replied, "No, thank you, right now," but I don't think I could hide how disappointed I looked. Whenever alcohol is used in a food or dessert, I really think customers should be told before placing the order. Some people may have allergies or sensitivities, or even to certain types of alcohol. There could also be pregnant women who should not consume alcohol--not that I am pregnant, of course, but I worry that this could be an issue for someone else. There could also be someone taking medication that should not be mixed with alcohol because of possible side effects or interactions. That is why I was disappointed that this information was not mentioned before I ordered the dessert, even though the restaurant was extremely busy that evening. When we paid our bill and left, I later looked at the receipt more carefully at home and noticed that the dessert appeared to have been removed from the bill. Since I only took one bite and then spit it out, I think that was fair. I also wonder if they removed it because they realized I had not been informed that it contained alcohol and wanted to make it right. If that was the reason, I appreciate it. Aside from this issue, all of the food we had tonight was really delicious, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was excellent and very attentive. Overall, I had a really nice experience at Alba Italian Restaurant. My only major disappointment was not being informed beforehand that the white tiramisu contained alcohol. Since the restaurant told us they do not have a separate dessert menu, I really hope they will consider creating one in the future. I think it would be much better to have a dedicated dessert menu that clearly lists the ingredients in each dessert, especially whether any alcohol is used, so customers can read the descriptions and make an informed decision before ordering.
