12 pm, Tuesday, December 16, 2025 Our office had Tender Greens cater the office lunch and learn session. I sampled their Salmon Salad and was able to get the surplus Italian Salad afterwards. The box lunches come with a toasted slice of bread. The salmon salad box I grabbed was leaking juices or cooking oil from the box... Very messy and had to grab several paper napkins to sop up the liquid. I can't verify all boxes were like this but mine was the outlier. The salmon was nicely cooked and flakey. The mixed greens were fresh. The Italian salad included some strands of fettuccine. I guess it's their version of an antipasti that includes mixed greens. The Italian dressing cup that was included was not overly sweet which was great. I loved the flavors of this salad with the sliced Italian meats in there. The box isn't waterproof with the mat at the bottom. The salads are great but I don't like the box container. read more

We usually go to the Studio City Tender Greens, but today we came to West Hollywood. I ordered a Fried Chicken Plate with Farro and Spinach. My wife got the Steak Plate with domain and Arugula. I enjoyed mine. The chicken was tasty, moist and flavorful. My wife enjoyed her plate! I appreciate that they have real iced tea. They also have a large, open and comfortable dining area. The chain is great, but this location in WeHo is awful. Do not go there. I went in and ordered steak, rice, and potatoes. No one was waiting in front of me. I waited 45 minutes. People behind me got their food. I was in plain sight of the cashier, who didn't bat an eye, put two and two together, see what was up. Eventually I asked him if everything was okay. No apologies. "Oh it's the protein. It takes a while." I look over and the people who ordered after me had chicken, steak, fish. The manager will undoubtedly write back to this and say, "I'm sorry, it's such a rarity for this to happen!" In a city where so many restaurants have shuttered up and closed despite having EXCELLENT service, this place... where the workers don't care at all... is an insult. Food: tuna nicoise salad and fried chicken sandwich. This salad is absolute perfection. Every ingredient is thought out and crafted together like a song. Rare ahi, baby greens, baby tomatoes, roasted potatoes, capers, greens beans, quail egg, olives, sherry vinaigrette- my mouth is watering!! It's not like they just throw this list of ingredients together. Each ingredient is seasoned, perfectly cooked and so fresh. It even comes with a slice of grilled bread (not toasted - grilled!) It's these little details woven together that make all the difference. I am in LOVE with this salad. Hubby thought his fried chicken sandwich was just ok but wouldn't order it again. Service: walk up to the counter, order and take a number. They will deliver to your table. If you want refills of your ice tea, you can bring your cup to the counter and they will refill it. Ambiance: the music was a bit loud, but the place is clean. Parking tip: they will validate for 1 hour for the parking structure directly next to them. Look out for the blue "P". Sweet! Have I said how delicious this salad is? A true chocolate chunk. 3 bucks for 400 calories and the ability to use the bathroom (they kindly let me in anyway since Crossroads has none but I thought I'd be tactful). I've been going to Tender Greens since the first location opened in 2006 in Culver City. Back then it was something special and unique. This WeHo location opened in 2009. I've had periods of time I went multiple times a week and periods of time where I shunned it for years based on negative changes. A little history lesson - the early days of this location from about 2009-2016 or so were the best. It was a comfortable atmosphere with booths and dim lighting. The prices were affordable and the portions were fresh and generous. There was a rebrand around 2017-2018 where they moved to a fast casual to go place. took away the comfy seating and brought in bright flourescent lights to encourage you not to dine in. I still went because the prices were reasonable and hadn't increased much from the early days. Then the pandemic hit and they basically increased prices by 50% and the quality went way down. Stayed away. In 2024 or so they got new management and while the prices were high, the food quality and portion size greatly improved. Plus they were generous about a 10% discount for regulars which helped with the price. I was going at least 3 times a week for a while in 2024-2025. Now we come to 2026 and it's downhill again. They got rid of their 10% discount AND raised prices about 10% (so 20% increase) and the food is hit or miss. Sometimes you get tough chicken and wilted lettuce, sometimes it's good. But even when it's good does it justify $20 a plate or bowl? Not sure. Probably not. Fresh Corn across the street has kept their prices and portions the same since like 2021 so I'm more inclined to go there, plus they have some cool deals on Uber Eats, while Tender Greens stopped rewarding loyal customers and got chintsy on deals and specials. I get costs go up, but when there's better and cheaper options you're gonna lose clientele. read more

In today's world it's about that personal touch. OR, lack of it. We were busy playing a board game and ordered lunch to be delivered, so it was Nolan to our service (see my pics). Nolan was our auto robotic food delivery vehicle. It was kinda fun to watch it navigate the sidewalks of LA. All things considered, it did well. I had the Chipotle Barbeque Chicken salad (see my pic). The chicken was tender and the BBQ sauce was tangy and a bit sweet. There was an ample amount of chicken for a salad meal. The sliced lettuce/cabbage mix was fresh and the cold squash was quite good. The side dressing was creamy and mildly flavored: not so much lime or cilantro. The chicken was the star. We also had the Backyard Steak Salad (see my pic). This came with a fair amount of steak slices cooked medium rare. The outside was nicely caramelized and seasoned. The steak was tender. The salad, while simple, was very crunchy and fresh. The side toast was hearty and the smoky sear was a nice rustic touch. read more

The new managers caved in and poured the now trendy skimpy wine levels. They cut salaries and lost the personable people who really loved working there. Now, it's all about making $$$$$. They had a bunch of "to go" orders so they seemed to take care of those first. We did not get our food until 8:50. That did not leave us a lot of time to eat. I got this place confused with another place that only serves salad. Glad I was wrong and decided to come here for lunch. I ordered the steak with potatoes and veggies. The steak was cooked medium rare and you can taste that it was cooked over an open fire. The potatoes were good and so were the veggies. My total came out to about $19+. So not too bad for steak dish. The steak was probably about 6-8oz if I had to guess. The food didn't fill me up completely, but got me past a few hours. I would come here again, but just walking her from the office, you can smell the urine in the streets. Just be careful when walking here as there were some homeless people around. read more

Desperate and in dire need for soup I ordered tender greens rustic chicken bowl for delivery and it was actually pretty good. It was pretty strong in dill and Rosemary, but definitely needed a bit more of seasoning. It is one of the better soups in LA and I've had a lot of soups so I definitely recommend it. Are you serious, yet for the dinner plate, is $22.35 which includes 1 ribs, mashed pots and string beans. Why buy just one side when you can get a whole dinner for a few bucks more. One of my favorite restaurants. I love the rare tuna plate with the arugula salad. It's absolutely divine. Sushi grade albacore tuna served cold and rare with some yummy flavor added to the arugula salad with fennel (which I usually hate but love in this dish) and a lemon vinaigrette! It's so unique and delicious and healthy too! Plus their green drink is also great and healthy of course. Their carrot cake cupcake is epic and a necessity to add at the end. WOW, what happened here? What happened to the Tender Greens of my past? It was sad from the moment we walked in. Sunday night, two other customers sat in the dining area. The fire alarm must have gone off because the strobe lights on the fire alarms kept blinking the entire time we were there. You no longer order then walk down a beautiful corridor of chefs cooking food and menu items on display. You bypass all that and go straight to the registers towards the end to order. The menu looks like a ghost of it's former self. Some menu items look the same as in the past, but not really. I ordered my once favorite Salt and Pepper chicken, one end of it tasted like fish, maybe they used the same knife to cut my chicken than they did the tuna. Also the roasted veggies were sad, a mix of mushrooms some peppers and three green beans. The "tossed spinach salad" was hardly dressed and a big glob of cheese sat on top. The crostini was probably the item I remember the most. I mean it's hard to mess up toast, am I right? My partner had the steak and by the looks of my picture it's more of a "Where's the Beef?" situation. Nothing looked appetizing and something you'd want to have again and again. Weekends at TG and even some week nights used to be a favorite of mine and I take it many others. You'd always see a friend of two in the dining room and the people watching was fun. Not this time, not at this ghost town. With this dinner we have said our final good bye to this Tender Greens, a so long to the memories of the past. We won't be back! read more

Exactly what you would expect from a quick salad spot. I was crazing greens so popped in for a salad. I appreciated that the nutritional value was listed on the menus because some salads can be very deceiving. Opened for the tuna Niçoise salad, I enjoyed the ratio of salad to other toppings- I found the seared tuna a little salty but went well with the rest of the bowl. I did not see any tzatziki on the wrap but the pickles were a bit overpowering. No harissa that I could see either. In order from here a lot. The food is good, but frankly...when it comes to food I'm easy to please. What gets me about this place is they give you an option to have your steak cooked rare to well done and no matter what I choose, it's always well done. Always. Not once or twice or even three times. It's every time. Every. Single. Time. Rare means nothing to these people. I don't even like it rare, but I choose that option in hopes they'll ease up on cooking time but they never do. I'm only writing this review in hopes someone there will see this and get the staff to stop overcooking the steak. That's all I want for Christmas. It's not a huge ask. It's actually less work!
