We've definitely had sweetgreens before at different locations, so I'm thinking this is just a bad location. This is the one on Colorado Blvd, right next door to Urth Cafe. I think the menu is fine, but the portions were sooooo small. Two salads for us cost $40, because of all the tack-on prices. (If you want just a little bit extra of this or that, or maybe a substitution, the extra cost is ridiculous.). One of our bowls came with chicken and to switch it to fish, the upcharge was $5.... for a smaller portion of a very similar protein. It was also super dry and didn't taste that good. The worst thing though, about our visit here, was a health code issue. The employee who was making our bowls stepped away for a few seconds, and a different employee came up and started to change out the tins that the foods are kept in, but the tins had water on the bottom and it dripped all over our bowls....disgusting. We told the first employee, when he came back, and we replaced the bowl, but not the protein! He literally scooped the contaminated protein out of the bowl, tossed the rest, and slapped it onto the new bowl...what is the point in doing that? So anyway, yes it's a decent menu, but it's way too expensive for the portion and this is a really bad location and we won't be back. This place is DELICIOUS! We just ate here for the first time with friends. They have a menu of options, but you can also build your own bowl or salad. It is set up similar to chipotle where you walk down the line. I liked that they give you options of how heavy you'd like your dressing and then they mix it all up for you. Sweetgreen is the most inconsistent restaurant... each location charges differently. Has different bowl sizes. It's just not a good look. Living in Pasadena just got even sweeter! I'm a sweetgreen fan and am very excited to have a shiny new location in the neighborhood. This is certainly the prettiest location I've ever been to and definitely feels like the largest, although they're not doing dine-in so an empty restaurant might account for some of that feeling. I'm a fan of their app and it totally came through this past weekend! I ordered three salads and was able to pay over the app--it also updated me on the status of my order and I was able to pick up my order with zero contact. I will say parking is tricky in Old Town and the Urth cafe was hopping (too much for COVID times IMHO, but I digress), so I parked a couple blocks away and walked. Per their Yelp page and my experience, they're not doing curbside. Just for funsies, my go-to order is still spring greens, carrots, cucumbers, spicy broccoli, sweet potatoes, cabbage, blackened chicken, goat cheese, and avocado with their awesome spicy cashew dressing. You can get three dressings on the side *and* mix and match, so I tried their hot sauce this time around and loved it. This isn't a cheap salad (about $16) so I don't get it often, but I truly crave it all the time (including right now as I type this)! read more

I hadn't heard about sweetgreen until a friend had brought it over and was extremely impressed with their packaging and the quality of their food. I ordered the harvest bowl which comes with roasted chicken, roasted sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, roasted almonds, warm wild rice, shredded kale, balsamic vinaigrette and added some portobello -- it was so delicious. They have an app where you can order in advance so that you can minimize your time outside (especially given the current climate of things). The cost of the salad is a little bit pricey, but I'd definitely recommend for anyone wanting to try something a little on the healthier side this place as an option. read more

As wonderful and amazing and delicious as sweetgreen's food is that is how AWFUL, UNRELIABLE and MADDENING your Pasadena, CA delivery service and website are. Every weekend for the past month we have ordered delivery from sweetgreen in Pasadena, CA to take advantage of your free delivery promotion. Every weekend we have had bad problems with the delivery, which have gotten worse and worse each week - to the point that we just never got any food today. We were looking forward to sweetgreen all week. We ordered the food at about 5pm today. Order #810820660. When I placed it your website said it would be delivered between 5:10pm and 5:35pm. Then I waited as the progress bar stuck on "waiting for courier" for more than an hour past those estimates. Finally it updated to say the order had ALREADY been delivered at 5:10pm. So I looked outside the door and nothing is there. I closed my browser window and reloaded and then it is said: "Sorry, your order was canceled We're so sorry we had to cancel your order, there was a snag with this delivery. We are processing a full refund, which will post in your account within 3-5 business days." The contact links on the sweetgreen website are garbage. The Call link DOES NOT WORK. And of course the email will never get me an immediate response. So I called the local restaurant and instead of getting a person had to go through a menu and interact through text. After texting with a customer service person who said they must have had a problem getting an Uber Eats driver I asked if I should try to order again, or would I get canceled again. That person could not answer my question. So I took my chances and ordered all over again. Order #811127680. By now we were starving. The late delivery estimate was 7:55pm. Again an hour past our deliver estimate and the website still says "Waiting for courier." I called the restaurant again and got text again and the reply was in part: "we use uber eats as our delivery partners and literally your food is waiting for a ride. " I waited and waited and waited and then the website said my order was delivered at 7:31pm. (This time I took a screenshot. See in photos.) I looked outside my door and - nope - not there. So I called the restaurant again, got the text with the automated message: "Hey! we're sorry to hear you had an issue with your order. What was wrong with the order?" I explained what was going on and - guess what - NO REPLY. Nothing. Silence. Just cut off. I kept refreshing my browser. Then suddenly the "Order Complete" message was replaced with: "Sorry, your order was canceled We're so sorry we had to cancel your order, there was a snag with this delivery. We are processing a full refund, which will post in your account within 3-5 business days." (Screenshot in photos.) Do you realize how INCREDIBLY AWFUL your website is? Do you realize how INCREDIBLY AWFUL your delivery reliability is? We ordered food at 5pm. It is now 9:28pm and after ordering twice and all this frustration and waiting we have NO FOOD. How can sweetgreen expect to stay in business with CONSISTENTLY TERRIBLE performance like this? It is the truly the WORST service I have ever, ever gotten from a restaurant in my 55 years of life. I love going here when I'm craving a make your own salad or bowl. The portions are great, definitely fills you up even though it's only a salad. I added a bunch of stuff - vegetable base, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, sweet potatoes, blackened tofu & chicken, red onion, and broccoli. Not dog friendly, despite the water bowls outside. There is no signage about no dogs allowed. A few weeks ago I tried picking up dinner at Sweetgreen while out walking my dog. I've done it in the past and it wasn't a problem. We live close by so it is convenient to be able to pick up a to go order during our walk. However, this last time it was an issue. At first the staff ignored me when I went up to order. Then I was told I can't have my dog inside and that I will need to order from the patio. I tried to do as they said but it was so humiliating and they had to take my card inside to pay, which I was not comfortable with. I will not be returning to this location. read more

SO EXCITED that a sweetgreen ha opened up in 626 - if not, the closest location is DTLA & they don't deliver :( This sweetgreen location is pretty hip in the sense that they took over what looks to be an old theater complex. Their inside is well-lit & very open area - you can't sit inside yet cuz of COVID but they have sitting on the outside area. The staff are really nice (I did have an incident where they charged the protein incorrectly & it took some time to resolve it but still good). The portions aren't as big compared to the LA location but they're just starting out so that may or may not change. I like making my own bowl (starting at $8.50) but the salads & dressing taste bomb, not the yucky "healthy" taste. Parking can be a hassle (only a few in the front for street parking) but there are paid parking in the back lot. Overall, quality is good and sparkling clean. Recommend coming here if you like salads :) read more

Probably one of the most expensive salads I have ever had, but, worth every penny. Everything was super fresh, the quantity was great and flavors came together so well. I got a chicken salad creation of theirs and added tomatoes. I liken this place to CoreLife Eatery but this place has WAY more focus on Organic and knowing where everything came from (sourcing transparency). The location was small but cozy and clean. There was a green stink bug in my food. I investigated this situation and it seems that a lot of people end up having a lot of different bugs in their food from sweet greens. Just look it up. It is honestly disgusting. I wouldn't suggest eating here but if you do make sure you thoroughly look through your food because there will most likely be a bug in your food. Worst restaurant in Pasadena. Never going back. Its winter time and their A/C is blasting so people dont stay long. All the seating is hard as a rock and uncomfortable. They use being planet friendly as an excuse for giving the minimal service, minimal food servings, and crappy eating utensils. They charge as if they are a high dining experience. Far from it. Farm fresh and the menu with pictures of food is deceiving. I hate companies that have false advertising. The menu showed big chopped cubes of meat cuts and the bowls we ordered had tiny pico de gallo cut pieces of meat. And they only give one tiny scoop, you have to pay $6.60 extra for one more scoop . This place is just another rip off and you don't get any good quality food. All the food was cold, the hot food was cold, serving size tiny, and the food taste as good as cafeteria meals . Not worth my time or money. Worst experience ever. Will never return and I advise all of you to save your money and eat at a delicious healthy restaurant called Urbane Cafe. Its in Azusa. read more

I love sweetgreen but Steph is so rude. She was being very unprofessional as our server was making our bowls she just kept watching her and getting mad at her for the way she was serving us. Felt like she was getting bullied and as I was patiently waiting for the tofu to be ready since it was delayed.then our server goes to serve and the lady Steph says that's it and makes a ugly face Steph served the scoop but only gave me 4 small pieces of tofu not even a cup. Steph Definitely shouldn't be working at a place like this if she's not happy I was so upset that was the first time I ever had an interaction like this after years of going to this location never coming back because of Steph. read more

If I could, I would give 0 stars. Please train your employees better. This was my first time trying this place and at this SPECIFIC location. I sure won't be returning this my hometown, Pasadena location. I would rather drive 30 minutes to a different location. I went on Sunday, 08/06/2023, at 7 pm. The person making my bowl was incredibly rude. I wasn't familiar with the salad options you guys offer, and instead of explaining what kind of greens were in the salad mixes after I nicely asked her, she rudely pointed to the board on the side. She made me feel extremely unwelcomed in the store with her negative attitude and was even exchanging looks with her coworker at the register. Very happy with my salad from Sweet Green! Great variation and options for everyone! Loved the roasted sweet potatoes and the overall size of the bowls they serve. I've been ordering here quite a few times through the app for pickup and it has always been smooth and fast. You may need to street parking in intersecting streets and walk over as this place is on a main road in Pasadena This place is a bit expensive as adding extra ingredients may add up to the total price. The portion you get is just perfect. I never built my own bowl before but depending on how mich you add in, it may be up to $20 for the bowl. I really just come here when I need something healthy as their bowls are mixed with a bunch of fresh vegetables, healthy rice, and some protein. I got the crispy rice bowl this time and I was able to swap out some of the ingredients like almonds for something I want, like tomato. You can also add up to 3 dressings to try out if you want for no additional cost. Customer service is on point as once they forgot my dressing for one of my bowls and I emailed them, and they quickly responded and gave me some credit for my next visit. read more

Heard that sweetgreen opened up in Pasadena and decided to try it out. Kinda funny that it's literally next to Tender Greens and Urth Caffe. The outside decor is aesthetic af, looks like if Bioshock had a sweetgreen because of the art-deco vibes. They have an app, very streamlined and clean, easy to browse and order ahead, gives you status updates on your order, and even set-up the pick-up time. Prices are a bit on the high side, ~$14 for a Chicken Chimichurri bowl. Arrived promptly at my pick-up time, but food wasn't ready until about 5 mins after so just be aware of that. Staff was nice about it. Location is very clean, hand sanitizer dispensers, line markers to maintain social distancing, staff wearing masks, etc. no worries there. You don't have to order through the app, you can order in-store. Chicken Chimichurri Bowl was great, the chicken was especially delicious and the sauce basically just goes with everything. I took the food home to eat so it did seem like some of the veggies were a little cold by the time I got to eat, but other than that, it was very enjoyable. The sooner you consume, the better. Would def come back and try out their other bowls/salads and climb the reward ladder (Seriously, check the app. There's a $2500 Black Level (The most ridiculous reward level I've seen)). read more

Parking in this area can be crowded but I've never had to drive around the block, there are 15min spots for those just picking up and not dining in. From their, theres a designated area for pick-up orders, cutlery area and bags if you need it. Super easy to pick up and go. Food is fresh, flavorful, and just the right portion to make me feel full. First time trying sweet green and at this exact location. I got the BBQ chicken salad and it was absolutely delicious!!

This is based off my Postmates order. I love sweetgreens overpriced custom bowls and plates. My only gripe is everytime I order they are out of something. It's so annoying that they don't let postmates know they are out of it so I either get my order cancelled or have to sub the 2-3 items they are out of. I don't understand how a business allows it to run out of stock. How can you run out of chimichurri sauce and offer a chicken chimichurri plate that everyone loves? Salads are ok but definitley not worth the obscene cost. I go to Sweetgreens when I'm in a jam and don't want to cook - but I definitley pay the price for it. A standard, dinky little salad can come out to around $15, which is obscene. It would be one thing if it was a specialty salad, but $15 for a basic bed of greens with a few toppings is not worth it in my opinion. They give you 4 free toppings and then charge you for everything else. Any other build your own place will give you unlimited toppings (with the exception of specialty ones like avocado). I'll now go to CAVA when I dont want to cook, as they have plenty of gluten free options as well. You can throw together a nice salad, with dips, unique dressings, and any as many toppings as you want, for around $11. Its a higher quality salad for a couple bucks less, with no annoying add ons. read more

Delicious and satiating salads! Sure, it isn't cheap, but for the quality of the ingredients, the creative combinations, and the friendly and attentive customer service, it is well worth it. This sweetgreen has a lovely location. A converted cinema with plenty of indoor and shaded outdoor seating. There is ample street parking. I also love that sweetgreen offers detailed nutrition information for each of their menu items and individual ingredients online! Super helpful for tracking my intake. read more
