Came by for the first time with my aunt today and really enjoyed the food and service that it reminded me to get on the app again. Linda was exceptional not only with helping us as a cashier and server, but she literally wore multiple hats and works hard. It's rare to see that kind of service in fast food dining so it was truly appreciated. She cleaned the tables when it was slow up front and you can tell she puts in the work to keep the place tidy instead of letting things pile up. She wipes down not only the tables but also the chairs which makes me feel better about the cleanliness and ambience. Will keep coming back for her friendly, hospitable and warm demeanor. Thank you Linda! Now for the food: had the pick two and wow the options are in my opinion extensive. It also comes with a side of chips, fruit or salad (mixed greens or Caesar) It was hard for me to choose. I got two sandwiches and a side mixed greens salad and was pleasantly satisfied. The uptown turkey avocado is delicious and the chicken pesto were great choices! It even came with a side salad and while we dined in and got the food, it filled us up quickly - they don't skimp on portions thankfully. I even had leftovers for a second meal. Parking is limited on the street but they have a shopping center parking garage which you can park in as well and walk over. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating even has umbrellas up for a nice lunch or evening ambience. Can't wait to comeback and enjoy another meal here! read more

I have been going to the Sherman Oaks location for many years. That location has been closed for a while now. I have never been to the Pasadena location and there is always a 1st time for everything. A friend of mine decided to go to Corner Bakery Cafe and we did. We were there couple of weeks ago and got a very nice, pleasant welcome from Veronica. She was sweet, kind, and helpful. We placed the order at the register and she brought out our order on timely manner. Food was delicious, hot and fresh. I ordered their Chicken Carbonara & Chicken Pomodori, she got Green Chile Chicken Panini and we both shared everything. She also enjoyed and liked her food. Our food was very flavorful. We each got a Toffee Cookie which was not too sweet and hit the spot right after our meal. Didn't get any drinks. Stayed with water. The Ambiance was nice, chill and very welcoming. Place was very clean with 2 restrooms. I will definitely return to this location next time I go to visit her since she lives in Pasadena. Came here because a friend told me about this choose two of any pasta, salad, sandwich or soup for $6.99! Since my mom hates waiting long for her food at restaurants, and we both love a great deal, I decided to celebrate my birthday here. The four of us each got the choose two and highlights include the chicken pompadour sandwich, tomato basil soup, the broccoli cheddar soup, shrimp linguine, and chicken carbonara. I ordered the carbonara pasta and the Chicken Rosa pasta, with garlic bread as the side. I really liked the carbonara pasta; it's my favorite pasta to get at Corner Bakery. It's very creamy, and the spaghetti is so soft. The Chicken Rosa pasta was good too, but it didn't pair well with the chicken. If I order this again, I'll ask for no chicken. The garlic bread was a bit burnt on the edges but still tasty. I also got a free cookie for completing an online survey. I chose the oatmeal raisin cookie, and it was delicious. This Corner Bakery is the closest to my home -- but I don't visit often. Curious why? Keep reading. They were running a promo: choose any two items for $6.99 after 4pm. Such a good deal--I couldn't resist. Usually I just order online and pick up, but since I was already heading to Trader Joe's, I decided to go in person. I was planning to get two orders of the deal. When I got there, a staff member was finishing with a customer, then just left the register. I was standing there waiting, and after about a minute another staff member finally came over to take my order. I asked if I could use the deal for two orders, since the coupon didn't mention any restrictions other than "after 4pm" and "no third-party delivery." She said it was only once per person per phone per day. I wasn't sure if that was an actual rule, so I just ordered one. In the end, I asked if my friend could order online and have me pick up. She said, "Okay, I'll let you do it this time, but next time the other person has to come in themselves." The whole conversation had no smiles and wasn't friendly -- but at least I got the deal I wanted. I usually don't like interacting with the staff here. There's an older staff member, maybe a manager, who always looks unhappy or angry. Honestly, I don't think anyone working here ever seems happy. Lastly, when I picked up my order, the floor was wet. I'm not sure why they don't clean it up -- it's not so busy that they wouldn't have time. If you plan to come here, I recommend ordering online and just picking up to minimize contact with the staff. So far, my favorite Corner Bakery location. The service was helpful overall, the food was great, and the place is in a pretty area of Pasadena. My wife and I have been loving this two for $6.99 deal they've been running at Corner Bakery (in fact, it's been our favorite deal of the year so far). We have really enjoyed getting to know the menu, and in particular trying the pastas and the great sandwiches with the made-in-house breads. This location is no different. The place is surrounded by large windows, which makes it feel nice and open, and there's plenty of seating inside, no matter how busy it gets (and it can get busy). I ordered the chicken pesto pasta and the green chile chicken sandwich and a caesar salad. The pasta was flavorful and the sauce is generously portioned, which I appreciated. The sandwich was solid - the bread is fantastic, and the green chile and chicken worked well together. I still think I prefer the pomodori sandwich, but I'll get it next time. For $6.99, this deal feels like a steal, and we'll be back at least one more time this month. I hope they keep the deal going :) One small note - it seemed like they had a little confusion going on in the kitchen, and our cashier seemed to keep getting dragged away, or called to by other staff members. Last time I went to this location, which was 2 years ago, the food was so bad, I stopped going. My salad had more than 1/3 of the greens that was rotten. It used to be so consistently good, and I've frequented this place for over 15 years. It seems to be under a different ownership/management. I was hesitant to try this place again, but after some shopping nearby, it was just convenient and I wanted to give them another try. I ordered two Chicken Pesto Sandwiches, 1 for my daughter and 1 for me. This used to be our favorite sandwich. My side salad came with NO dressing. The bread for the sandwich was so thick, dense and dry, I couldn't eat it as a regular sandwich. I ditched the top part and barely ate it as an open sandwich. It was also DRENCHED in Italian dressing. The worst part was, my daughter found a 4.5 inch toothpick buried in one half of the sandwich, as she bit into it, almost hurting herself. Mine didn't come with any toothpick. The poor quality of the food is bad enough, but missing the dressing for the salad and finding a random toothpick in one half of the sandwich just left a terrible taste in my mouth. Mine had a weird taste to it, I couldn't quite pin point what it was, but it was just off. The Mac and cheese was disgusting, beyond dry and the sauce was non existent. The chai was equally bad, it had a very strong artificial taste to it. Couldn't finish any of it as it was just that bad. This is the second time I eat at this restaurant and the potatoes are very sour! Gross. The first time I had the breakfast potatoes they were unreasonably sour. So I sent them back and they said they would make them crispier... still sour tossed them. Today I had their potato soup, not knowing they likely used the same gross potato and they were disgustingly sour. At first it came to the table like warm, the cheese did not even melt. I asked if they could make it hotter and c they kindly popped Irving they microwave. In had to vigorously mix it, and it's was not good. I've ate about 1/2 before I had to throw it away. When the staff checked on me and noticed I was not done with the soup I had to tell them to take it because it was not good. They did not question me. A shame the menus are contradictory and misleading and the service only makes it more confusing, because the food is good. I have been looking forward to visiting this restaurant with my partner for months now, and eyeing their green chile chicken panini, but the customer communication left me genuinely offended. Firstly, ordering was a hassle. The cashier struggled her way through our order, and I had to correct her several times for missing items. Then, once I had ordered and sat down, I realized I had been upcharged $5.19 for my choice of side with my meal. I had specifically checked the menu, where it said all paninis were "served with any Side"- and checked the Sides section on the menu, where the DC chicken salad was included. But I was upcharged $5.19 for that side, without being told by either the menu or the cashier. I brought my receipt back up the counter to ask for an explanation, and explained that the menu said any side could be included and there was no signage to indicate any sort of up-charge. Another woman, who I believe may have been the location manager, let me know that "some sides had an up-charge," and I showed her that there is no reference to that on any menu. She apologized for the confusion, and asked me if I still wanted the side or if I would like a refund, and to be swapped for a side that was not an extra charge- and I agreed, and swapped to a caesar salad. Right as we were processing the refund, a server brought our food to the table we were sitting at, with the chicken salad already prepared, but paused, looked back at his manager, and removed the chicken salad from the plate before placing it down on the table. Now, I understand I had just been issued a refund for this, but I do believe restaurant etiquette is that if the restaurant itself caused a price error, and the food is already prepared, it is still delivered to the customer if only to avoid food waste and a walk of shame, and also as an apology. They did, however, as compensation, refund me for a bakery item I had ordered along with my meal, which was a kindness that did somewhat make up for it. The food itself was delicious, and that is the only reason this review is getting 2stars instead of 1. The panini was nice and crisp and not too greasy but not dry either. It was just what I had hoped for when I read there was a green chile chicken panini on their menu. Their maple pecan bar was also very good, though the crust was a bit too crumbly. However, every 7 or so minutes an alarm would loudly beep from the kitchen for upwards of a minute. As I mentioned earlier, my chicken salad side had been replaced for a caesar salad, but no one brought it to me. I waited for 20 minutes for my replacement caesar salad, and then I had to ask and remind them for it to be brought to me. For reference, it took them less than 15 minutes to bring out two paninis and a special salad. In all, if I ever crave a green chile chicken panini again, I will either be ordering just the sandwich for pickup online, or I will be finding a way to make or find it somewhere else. read more

My go to is the Uptown Turkey/Avocado sandwich. I don't usually like bacon, but I like it in this sandwich. When you get this sandwich is usually bigger in portion than other places. I joined their rewards program, so I got a coffee for 99 cents and a free dessert for my birthday. Like I said, the sandwich is yummy, not to die for, but yummy. Now their desserts, now they are to die for. The husb and I shared the maple pecan pumpkin bundt cake. You can get a specialty drink for 99 cents once a week, but I opted for the regular coffee since I was going to have a sweet dessert. Employees are prompt with requests, as well as helpful and polite. This location is a bit livelier than the Hastings Ranch location.
