First time sweetgreen customer! I appreciated how patience the staff were at explaining everything. There's a small outdoor seating area with markers to indicate when was the last time they cleaned. Ordered the seasonal pre-made Peach Burrata Salad. I ended up not getting the burrata because I'm lactose and replaced it with blackened chicken instead. The bowl is a pretty hefty size and the ingredients were fresh. The one down side is that it totaled to almost $14. It's definitely on the pricier end of the salad price spectrum. I saw all the bad reviews for the online pick-up, so I opted to just order in person instead. I was first introduced to this chain when I was in DC by a friend and always had fond memories of it. When it finally became local in Los Angeles I double checked with my friend to make sure it was the same chain. When she confirmed that it was I definitely had to have it again. There have been many places like this where you get to customize your own salad before but none really do it better than sweetgreen. IMO, They have the best options for ingredients and I personally love how whenever I have gone in they will tell me what ingredients they find the freshest and which ones have been out for a while so I may not want those. Some of my favorite add ons are the portobello mushroom, roasted sweet potato, and different variations of nuts. Delicious, healthy salad bowls! There are so many good options here and everything is so fresh. I also like that you can customize the bowls to your liking. We got the Chicken pesto parm, shroomami, and super green goddess. I loved the pesto sauce and the shroomami bowl the most. Their roasted sweet potatoes are also really good! Sweetgreen is one of my favorite new discoveries. It's a healthy fast casual food joint that serves warm and cold salads. The salads are always super fresh and nutritious and they use locally sourced veggies. Their service is fast and efficient and they give you lots of options for add-ons or substitutions. Think of chipotle but for salads and you've kind of got Sweetgreen. I love the Guacamole Greens (cold salad) and Harvest Bowl (warm salad). The guacamole green contains roasted chicken, avocado, tomatoes, cabbage and more topped off with lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette. It's perfect when I'm craving something fresh because of the lime cilantro vinaigrette dressing. The avocado adds a good amount of much needed fat to the salad. My other favorite salad is the Harvest Bowl which contains roasted chicken, sweet potatoes, apples, goat cheese, warm wild rice and more topped with balsamic vinaigrette. It's different than what you expect from a typical salad which is why I enjoy it so much. For those of you who aren't big fans of goat cheese, you can choose to omit it but honestly its not bad at all. It adds a really nice layer of flavor to the salad. I live in the neighborhood & frequent this location, I usually receive amazing service but last night I stopped by about 30 mins before closing, the girl who made my salad seemed like she hated her job. She was rude, spoke to me like an automated machine, when I asked her questions about the new salads she responded "....what?!" ad if she were annoyed I asked questions at all instead of politely asking me to repeat myself, she was extremely sloppy making my salad & overloaded it with so much dressing that it tasted like pure vinegar. I tried to call in this morning to voice my concerns but apparently sweetgreen only has an automated line, probably to avoid dealing with complaints like mine. Wow! This is a must go for those looking for some greens in their life. They have tons of choices as well as providing vegan/vegetarian options. Love this little gem in Pasadena and the welcomeness of all the employees here. They were more than accommodating answering any questions that I had. I ordered myself the crispy rice bowl with chicken. I love the crunch from the almonds and the spicy cashew dressing was a big hit for me. Alright I usually hate eating salads as my full meal. Always a salad as a side kind of gal, but my kitchen at home is empty (traveling for work pretty frequently these days) and feeling gross eating less-than-healthy options...I took a leap of faith and tried sweetgreen. I got their kale Cesar salad without tomatoes and swapped the Cesar salad dressing for spicy cashew and roasted chicken for blackened chicken. I was blown away at how much I enjoyed the meal, how much better I felt after, and how addictive that spicy cashew sauce is. It's creamy, flavorful, and brings good flavor to the mix. Next time I'll opt out of the Parmesan shavings since the Parmesan crisps are enough saltiness for me. I got my food off DoorDash so I know nothing about the service, but ordering off the app was seamless. Major downsides are that it's extremely expensive for something that probably costs about $7-$8 to assemble yourself thus the one star removal. This is a great place to try new salad combos for attempting to make them at home or a healthy (but financially indulgent) treat for yourself. read more

The first time I came I ordered the Harvest Bowl which came on a bed of kale with chicken, apples, goat cheese, sweet potatoes, and almonds. Sweetgreen used to have more flavorful salads and bowls, and more options. Went back recently, and the greens weren't that fresh (got sick from something in the Hummus Crunch Salad). With all the ingredients pre-chopped and sitting in a long serving table to be scooped up, it's fast for a quick lunch, but feels like ingredient freshness has suffered by the assembly line process. Ordered (1) salad for delivery today around Noon (Pasadena, CA). App said that it was coming by 1 PM. No salad arrived. I tried to call but there is not a live person. I texted with customer service and they said that I would get the salad and that they would also refund my money. A delivery driver called and said that the Pasadena store refused to give her the salad to deliver because the money had already been refunded. Bottom line: Sweetgreen does not want my business. If you are looking for a healthy spot to grab a meal, sweetgreen is the place. I've tried their harvest bowl, Naomi Osaka bowl (chicken tostada with avocado), and the peach and burrata bowl. The bowls were fresh and delicious, but I did not like how I had to order online if I wanted a "specialty bowl". When I came in-person to order the Naomi bowl, they said "that's available for online orders only" but they let me order it anyway. We've definitely had sweetgreens before at different locations, so I'm thinking this is just a bad location. This is the one on Colorado Blvd, right next door to Urth Cafe. I think the menu is fine, but the portions were sooooo small. Two salads for us cost $40, because of all the tack-on prices. (If you want just a little bit extra of this or that, or maybe a substitution, the extra cost is ridiculous.). One of our bowls came with chicken and to switch it to fish, the upcharge was $5.... for a smaller portion of a very similar protein. It was also super dry and didn't taste that good. The worst thing though, about our visit here, was a health code issue. The employee who was making our bowls stepped away for a few seconds, and a different employee came up and started to change out the tins that the foods are kept in, but the tins had water on the bottom and it dripped all over our bowls....disgusting. We told the first employee, when he came back, and we replaced the bowl, but not the protein! He literally scooped the contaminated protein out of the bowl, tossed the rest, and slapped it onto the new bowl...what is the point in doing that? So anyway, yes it's a decent menu, but it's way too expensive for the portion and this is a really bad location and we won't be back.
