I usually enjoy Sweetgreen for the fresh ingredients and healthy options, but the Reston location has been disappointing. They are very stingy with portions, specially when it comes to protein. Unless you choose salmon, the amount they give is noticeably small. This is frustrating since I go here specifically to get enough fiber and protein in one meal. On my last visit, the place was empty, but the staff still gave off a vibe like they wanted me to leave quickly. There was no warmth or engagement, just rushed and minimal interaction. I was visiting from California and the restaurant at my hotel was closed for several hours between lunch and dinner. I was very hungry after spending nearly 3 hours getting a mani-pedi nearby. Via DoorDash, I ordered the Shroomami bowl and a side order of Hummus + Focaccia. Prices were no higher than similar food in California, so that was nice. The quality is exceptional and appears to be very healthy. The portion of hummus was so large that I had enough left over to eat with pretzels I had on hand from the hotel. I never write reviews but I have been an avid SG lover & customer for 11 years & have frequented this location but today really missed the mark with my UberEats order. Really disappointed with the quality & quantity. I always order quite a few premium extras; roasted chicken, shaved parm which are not cheap add ons. The salad barely reached the half way mark inside the container & had maybe 5 dry hard little pieces of chicken & barely half of scoop of the shaved parm. The other day, I was confirming my online order with the sweetgreen employees, and they were EXTREMELT rude. I have slight speech disabilities, and they were very impatient and quick to assume I was wasting their time. Additionally, I had a promo code for 50% off one bowl, and in the bowl they LITERALLY gave me 50% of the normal portion. How is that even fair? This is another restaurant I wish would set up business in Cincinnati. I visited this location in Reston (okay, twice in one week!) during a business trip. I had the same salad: Super Green Goddess. The second time, I added chicken. Such a delicious and filling salad. Everything was fresh and crunchy, the bowl size was generous and it was served up quickly . So many goodies in this salad: beets, almonds, avocado, broccoli and more. I absolutely love the dressing -- if I hadn't been traveling I would have tried to figure out how to bring some home with me! Nice location, plenty of garage parking nearby. Seems to cater to the large contingent of offices in the area so it was busy during lunch hour (but easy to order online and pick up). read more

The service was good, although we were not really impressed with the food and the quantity (given the high price), they really need to provide better and more diverse toppings and options for the salads. My family and ordered takeout from Sweetgreen last night. They were donating one meal for each meal purchased to one of our favorite charities, Food for Neighbors. How can you pass up an opportunity like that? Kudos to the management. Please keep supporting your community! We ordered online and picked up our order at the Reston store. Upon arrival, I walked in and grabbed the bag with my order from the shelf. No waiting and no hassle. My inspection of the contents reflected that each bowl was meticulously sealed and ready to go. Back in the car and on my way to enjoy dinner! Between the three of us, we enjoyed the Rustic Tomato Harvest Bowl, Chicken Tostada, and the Buffalo Chicken Bowl. We all enjoyed our meals. The only big issue we encountered was that the Chicken Tostada bowl continued little, if any, chicken. Given the high quality of the meal, my wife was disappointed that this was overlooked. Otherwise, the quality of the food was very good. I enjoyed the buffalo chicken salad, as it was spiced perfectly and there was plenty of blue cheese to complete the traditional buffalo profile. Sweetgreen puts out a good salad/bowl. We were disappointed at the size of the entree, as there really should provide a bit more for the price you are paying. I realize that they use premium ingredients, however they really should give you more for the price. This is primarily greens and grains, so we ended up needing a snack later. More like Sourgreen. There's nothing Sweet about Sweetgreen, and all of the salad afficionados that I know, are in a-Green-ment. I find this chain to be absolutely atrocious - much like the one up in New York, Chopt. They overcharge and give you a salad half the size of what I expect - and the price is significantly higher than many of my favorite salad places, which give you twice as much - and by the way those taste even better too. The salad dressings are on the sour side and nothing to write home about, and the service wasn't great either. Parking is a nightmare so it all adds up to a really disappointing one star experience. read more

Great option for fast healthy food! Reston Town Center has so many options, but I can't help but come back to sweet green again whenever I'm here. I know what they offer, I know it's healthy, I know it's fresh, and I know it's fast. What more could I want? The dining area is a strange layout and as you walk in, it does feel a little cramped, but you will get over it when you have delicious salad. I've eaten here and also had carryout from pre-ordered app choices. Both work well. The people here are efficient and friendly. What to order has expanded since sweetgreen has created plates. Before it was just warm bowls, but now you can completely avoid greens and just have a plate with rice and fixings - so it feels heartier. I had one of their shroomami style plates with avocado and warm portobello mix and wild rice with some black beans and the lime cilantro dressing. It was perfect. One dressing is enough. For their salads though, I prefer 2 dressings or medium to heavy dressing of either the spicy cashew or the pesto. There is so much salad, one dressing isn't enough. It's always a toss-up between spinach and kale, but I usually opt for kale with quinoa. I love the custom make your own bowls, because I'm picky. Most people wouldn't choose the combinations I choose, but I can make my combination when I order just how I like it as opposed to pre-made mixes. That's what I love. I've never been disappointed here, except when I eat all of my food and am disappointed at myself for not ordering another salad for later. Fresh, fast, healthy. Love this place! Our second visit to SG. The first was in NYC and we really liked how fresh everything was. I had the harvest bowl there and absolutely loved the flavors and textures. Today I ordered the guacamole greens salad and it was so good! I love that they mix everything together for you so every bite has a taste of something. It's a pretty straightforward salad but the dressing is really what brings it all together. My husband had the buffalo chicken bowl and he enjoyed it. I'm trying to get him to eat more greens and he said he'd return there. Win win for both of us. I only wish there was a location in Leesburg. read more

I am rating this based on an Uber Eats delivery. This was my first time ordering from this location and they did a good job with accuracy although no utensils were included. The items delivered were fresh and overall taste was good except for the avocado in the salad which was bad and completely brown. The rice treat was tasty and I liked that the tea had no sweetener. I have had to re-review this particular sweetgreen location TWICE now. The service and staff here is just AWFUL. I love sweetgreen as a company. Sweetgreen offers delicious salads and warm bowls (but I don't like those as much ;P ). I have literally ordered salads from this sweetgreen about 5 or 6 times in the past month and every single time something was wrong. Mostly, the salads would not be ready when arrived after ordering on the app. I would get there and I would see my order ticket on the counter and the employees just standing around doing nothing. The final straw was this past week. I arrived, and as usual, my salads were not ready. I had to wait for them to help another customer in line before having my salads made. I got out of there 10 minutes past when my order was supposed to be ready....go home...and the salad has the wrong dressing on it and is totally gross and inedible. I call back and the girl says that she will write it down so we can have a free salad next time. Fast forward 3 days....we go to get said free salad. The male manager comes out and gives an attitude saying nothing is written down about a free salad and giving my fiancée a hard time. Eww. You guys are really the worst. Sweetgreen made me a believer in salads as a meal! Their salads are freakin delish! Plus the serving size is just right. Filling and tasty! My favorite salad is the lentil and avocado by a long shot. I've been getting it for months and recently added chickpeas to the salad for a different taste and OH MI GAWWD!!! AMAZING! Ordering in person gives you many options and opportunity for substitutions should you like. Beware though, the line can get long during lunch hours during the week. There's always an option to order in advance on the sweetgreen app. Highly recommended since they prepare your salad in advance and have it ready when you arrive. You pay in advance and pick up your salad from a holding area which doesn't require a wait on staff. Great option if you're pressed for time except they only give you a few options to modify your order. Sweetgreen is cashless! Make sure you have your card ready when you get to the register. When you walk into Sweetgreen, the place is almost immaculate. It is super clean and very inviting. I've been here once or twice before this, but not enough where I felt super comfortable with how to approach my order. The first woman who is helping with the base of the salad was amazing! I let her know that this was my first time and she walked me through how to make my own and what might be extra. I am made the most amazing kale chicken Caesar salad! I really appreciated the kindness and patience that many of the staff had! However, the payment was a little wonky. I felt like the service was a little lost when we got there. Just came back from this location and so disappointed with my Harvest Salad. As soon as I picked up the bag I knew there was going to be a problem. The weight of the salad was so light and I knew this was not good. Got home and unopened the bag and poured out the bowl. Such a small amount of all the ingredients. Literally one small bite of the goat cheese. I needed to add some chicken from my fridge to make it worthwhile. The greens were fresh but it was definitely not sized properly and it did not qualify as a $14 salad. The CHOPT location in Annapolis serves a hearty salad and it certainly fills you up. It's so large that the bread I ordered there had to be put in a separate bag while the bread at Sweetgreen was mashed in the container. Very disappointing. read more

And entire line's worth of walk-ins comes and goes. Finally, at 12:58, the line is EMPTY (I uploaded a photo), and then my salad comes out. We tried Saladworks and liked it, thought it was 4-star worthy (still do) but now that we've discovered Sweetgreen...well, let's put it this way---it's better than Saladworks! Really better! We went on a Sunday around 5 p.m. and there was only one person ahead of us in line. Since we looked at their menu online, we had a good idea of what we wanted to order. Ordering was easy---just go to the counter (the opposite end from the register), tell the clerk if you're having a salad or a wrap and if it is for here or to go. It's best to start off with the lettuce mix you want, then the vegetables, protein(s) and the crunch. Finally, pick your dressing. After that, pick your drink. We both choose the make your own salad option. I had mesclun, grape tomatoes, edamame, radishes, roasted tofu, garlic pita chips and sunflower seeds. For my dressing, I had miso sesame vinaigrette. One thing they do that I really like --- when it comes to the dressing, they ask if you want it on your salad light, medium or heavy. I chose a medium amount. Then a slice of bread is put on top of it all. My husband made his own salad, too. He had romaine lettuce, cauliflower, beets, radishes, cannellini beans, cranberries and carrots plus miso sesame vinaigrette dressing. We both just loved our salads! The ingredients are all fresh and very flavorful. We both agreed that the dressing was tasty without overpowering the entire salad. The bread was sooo good! We couldn't tell what it was---only that we liked it. So, before leaving, we asked the clerk what it was. He said it was buckwheat bread. For drinks, we both had cranberry apple lemonade. Of the three lemonades available, it was the most mainstream. One lemonade had cucumber and ginger---it may well taste good but for us anyway, it seemed a little too unusual. The dining area is small, spare and very clean. The piped-in music ranged from 70s to present day stuff. It all came to $19.08. Obviously not the cheapest salads around but certainly you get what you pay for---fresh, flavorful, locally grown produce. Well worth the price, IMO.
