    Edamame dumplings

We were quickly greeted and the hostess and manger were great! The ambiance is lively and modern with great vibrant atmosphere. The food came out quickly and there was an option for everyone. Not the most flavorful but healthy and fulfilling. Love that they have vegan and vegetarian options. The avacado pesto was delicious.

Chopped salad + protein - grass-fed beef steak bites. Lot of greens underneath what's visible.

Loved the chopped salad plus I added GF beef steak which came in small bites and plenty of them, down to my last bite of this salad. Quality ingredients and tasted super delicious. I also ordered my top fave pizza with mushroom and spinach. Biggest surprise was cappuccino -- with almond milk. It way exceeded my picky palate for great cappuccino. I could care less about the foam art etc. Just great beans, good foam, great taste and a good ratio. He was also a barista in-training. I'd order again especially if same barista-trainee is on duty !

True Food Kitchen has a nice upscale atmosphere that is also comfortable. The service was fast and everyone of the staff was very friendly making the whole experiwnce great. I ordered the all amreican burger with sweet potato chips and it was delicious. The ingredients are all clearly freah and flavorful and the beef tastes high quality. The sweet potato chips are addictive without being too sweet.

    Guacamole with baked flatbread

I was looking for a new restaurant that had healthy food at decent prices, and bonus points if it tasted good, but wasn't expecting it. In this search I found True Food Kitchen. This was the most delicious healthy food I've ever had! I always get it to go so I can't say much about the service or ambiance other than the fact that they are always kind and never get an order wrong. I ordered a lot the first time because I wanted to have a good idea of what the quality was with True Food Kitchen. I ordered their guacamole with flatbread which was perfectly tangy and fresh and has 6g of protein and only 330 calories! Even if I ate the whole thing by myself I wouldn't feel guilty. I would say that the flatbread is a bit bland but other than that it's a pretty good starter especially for those macros. I give it a 3.5/5 Next I had the Edamame Dumplings which has white truffle oil, dashi, thai basil, sesame seeds, has 12g of protein and is only 270 calories!! This one was bursting with flavor in every bite, from the mouth watering truffle flavor in the sauce to the dumplings which tasted as indulgent as mashed potatoes, this was probably one of my favorites at True food Kitchen. I would rate it a 5/5 for sure! For sides I had the cheesy mashed potatoes which has 5g of protein and only 200 cals. I would say these are decent but not my favorite as it had a flavor I didn't quite like, but still is a good option for those not as picky as me. I would rate it a 2.5/5 Next I had the kale salad, and OMG it was amazing! I usually hate kale but True Food Kitchen's kale salad is so good that I actually would eat this every day! It has Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs and a perfectly blended lemon based dressing which is so good I scrape the bowl clean. It's also only got 120 calories and 3g of protein for the huge portion, so it's super healthy for you, and filling. I rate this a 5/5 Don't forget to get the Kale aid as a drink as well, which has organic kale, ginger, organic apple, celery, cucumber, and lemon and is only 100 calories. It's very refreshing and the flavor is so good you don't taste the greens. It's a 5/5 for sure! Lastly and one of my all time favorites here is the Turkey Burger which has Diestel Farms turkey, smoked gouda, avocado, tomato, butter lettuce, jalapeño remoulade, and their TFK house special sauce. The turkey by itself is delicious and such a huge portion! It's perfectly spiced and doesn't need anything else, though the other ingredients are fresh (I love that they have butter lettuce so it's a nice texture, plus it's tasty), their tomatoes are always red and top notch. But omg we need to talk about their sauces! The house sauce is delicious! It's unique to their store, but kind of like a mayo ketchup blend but more sophisticated. The jalapeño remoulade is tangy and addicting but not spicy despite the name. I love that they have two unique sauces on one burger! To top it off the whole thing has only 600 calories and a whopping 43g of protein! Talk about nutrition goals! It's definitely a 5/5 for me! TLDR: True Food Kitchen is truly healthy food that will leave your mouth watering! Every bite is a joy, and still keeps you on track with your healthy goals. The prices aren't bad, but definitely more than fast food for sure. The service is always great and this is one of my new favorite places to eat! Definitely recommend!

Worst experience.. went there on Valentine's day with my wife. All good till we ordered food & drinks. We did not receive the drinks till the time we finished apps and main course.. which was almost 1 hour after we ordered. Server kept telling us that the bar was backed up with orders and we should get it soon but drinks never arrived. On top of all.. We were presented the check even before our desert arrived on the table.. Restaurant definitely made our experience memorable for bad reasons.

Such a good dining experience! I highly recommend coming here if you have someone with dietary restrictions because they have the most amazing options for vegan and gluten-free. I personally do not have any of those restrictions and I still absolutely loved the dish that I got! They have a bunch of variety which is really cool. You can get a hamburger or curry or Korean noodles! Our waiter was really kind and even gave us a sample of the seasonal soup! He was super attentive and made sure that we had everything that we needed while we were there. Our food came out really fast and tasted really fresh. There's plenty of seating in here, the restaurant is huge! It is a really clean and cute vibe inside and I would definitely recommend coming here with friends or on a date

    LASAGNE AL PESTO
    Jennifer J.

Dined here this past Sunday with some friends and really enjoyed. I'm on a healthier, cleaner eating journey and was pleased to see True Food focuses on whole, real food. We shared the chopped salad - phenomenal! I'm not a huge salad person, but this salad here slaps! I ordered the lasagne al pesto, which was pretty good. I do wish it had more turkey sausage bolognese, but nonetheless it was tasty. Restaurant decor and atmosphere was lovely, very clean and spacious. Amazing staff and service! Special shoutout to our server, Noah, who took very good care of us and solidified this 5 star experience with his attentiveness, helpfulness, and overall service. Looking forward to dining again at True Food Kitchen!

Bison pizza and cheesy mashed potatoes
    Christina B.

The bison pizza was pretty good: light and crispy with a good sized crust on it. I can see how one person can finish this on their own, but it did take 2 of us to polish it off. The cheesy mashed potatoes were good but not worth the $6 price tag as a small bowled side. I do not recommend getting the lavender matcha latte. There was barely any matcha flavor at all (a sign of good matcha is a slightly bitter taste), and the lavender syrup was basically just sugar, so this drink ended up tasting like sugary milk ($6.50) Plenty of seating inside and out with airy space and friendly staff.

    Melissa C.

Javier was a womderful server and the trio lunch special was a great deal. I like the open kitchen and seasonal ingredients component to tnis restaurant.

Tomato soup is good and so the Chinese chicken salad.
    Kiana W.

I was looking for a WOW factor but I'm cool after a midday flight bite vibe. It's a bit pricey for an everyday habit but it would be a great birthday, date night or anytime you want some a little different and a bit more healthy and clean. My serve was Awesome ! I was there before 3 pm so it's was quiet and the food arrived quickly!

I ordered an entrée with three sides: grilled vegetables, roasted heirloom carrots, and mac and cheese. Everything was made to order, so my meal arrived fresh and flavorful. The olive oil-roasted vegetables were simple but well seasoned and satisfying. The roasted heirloom carrots were unique as they were seasoned with za'atar and served with whipped feta, which added a delicious flavor. The mac and cheese, however, was just average. I'm not a big fan of gluten-free pasta, and I found it a bit too chewy. It also didn't absorb the cheese sauce very well, so it wasn't as creamy or flavorful as I had hoped. I also tried the draft kombucha, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. The service was quick, even during a busy weekend lunch, and a staff member was friendly. The restaurant itself has a cute, welcoming interior with plenty of seating, so finding a table wasn't an issue. Overall, I had a really enjoyable meal and thought it was well worth the price. Updated Review (previously 5 stars) due to poor management response:…read more Management has changed since my last visit, and boy, this place is not what it used to be, and that makes me sad. About four years ago, I happily gave this restaurant 5 stars and recommended it to others. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the complete opposite. During my meal, I discovered ANTS actively crawling around my food. (See video) It was disturbing to watch them around the sauce next to my meal, and I immediately stopped eating because I no longer felt comfortable consuming the rest of it. What disappointed me even more was how management handled the situation afterward. It was extremely difficult to get in touch with the manager despite multiple attempts. When I finally spoke with him, he refused to provide a refund because more than 30 days had passed since my visit. Given the nature of the complaint and the difficulty I had reaching management, I found that response completely unreasonable. I also raised concerns about being asked questions during my visit that made me feel racially stereotyped. Those concerns were never acknowledged or addressed by management, which only added to my disappointment. Because I believed this was a legitimate food safety issue, I filed a complaint with the Fairfax County Health Department. After investigating, the inspector informed me that they visited the restaurant, discussed my concerns with the manager, and that the manager confirmed my reported ant sightings. The Health Department also required additional pest control measures. Beyond the service issues, I also noticed a significant decline in the food. The wonton soup was bland and lacked the rich flavor I remembered, and the General Tso's Surprise tasted off and was missing the depth and spice that used to make it one of my favorite dishes. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite vegetarian spots, which is why writing this review is so disappointing. Based on my recent experience, the difficulty in getting in touch with management, and their total lack of customer service or care for loyal customers, I can't recommend dining here. They do not care about their customers based on how I was treated.

Also, they probably wouldn't get the extra sauce again. Overall, good bowls. We'll be back. One disappointment is that there is no way to "build your own bowl." I asked the server, and she said you can ask to substitute an item on one of their main bowls, but there's no "create your own" option. Since you order from a kiosk, it seems that could be straightforward, with the price adjusted based on what you add in, but I guess not here. That will limit the number of times I come here, because I prefer the option for variety. Ordering vis kiosk also doesn't allow you to order the sauce "on the side," which is another unnecessary (IMHO) limitation.
