Loaded fries

I have low standards with food. I'm very easy to please, and not very picky at all. This restaurant managed to impress me with how bad it was. This is what the loaded fries looked like. Now Google image "loaded fries Shah's halal" and tell me if you think their marketing is accurate. And yes those are grocery store cheese slices. $10.99 for this. The chicken cheesesteak was genuinely unpleasant to eat. It was bitter, and it clearly had grocery store cheese slices. The Philly cheesesteak wasn't all that much better, but it was certainly more tolerable. The double cheeseburger was underwhelming, but given the price point, it was fine. But I think the biggest disappointment for me was the loaded fries, given how expensive it was and the discrepancy between what was advertised and what we actually got.

A6. Combo Kabob

I'm glad this place took over the Accord Kabob restaurant. I decided to stop by to check this out as I have heard good things about Shah's. I ordered the combo which was chicken and lamb. The chicken was amazing but the lamb fell short for me. I also tried the hummus, which was really good. You need to order pita bread as it doesn't come with the order of hummus. The restaurant is small and has limited seating. It was clean. Service was fine, nothing spectacular. Only final comment is I wished the portion was a bit more. I'd come back again.

Ordered the combo platter and he found the chicken had the perfect amount of spiciness.

We wanted easy Chinese food and chose this place because it was close. The reviews weren't great,…read morebut we decided to try it regardless. We ordered the sesame chicken, egg rolls and mu shi with pork. Ordering online was simple and food was ready fast. While dine in was available, this seems to be more of a takeout place. The food was good. Sauces were tasty and food was cooked well. It's a good place to go for your run if the mill Chinese food. I would order again, but aren't jonesing to go back. It was perfectly fine.

It's profoundly upsetting and discouraging to pay that much only to receive food this inedible. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere for your meal. Two of our usual Chinese food restaurants offering delivery were closed (??) on Tuesday. We placed an online delivery of often-ordered Egg Rolls, Chicken Corn Soup, Moo Goo Gai Pan, and ventured to try Beef Chow Fun. There wasn't a description offered of the Chow Fun, but according to Google, it is a dish described as wide, flat rice noodles without vegetables. The Egg Rolls were greasy, with a soggy, uninspired vegetable filling, while the Chicken Corn Soup, despite plenty of corn kernels and egg bits, was surprisingly bland; both sweetness and bits of chicken were missing. These appetizers set a disappointing standard, highlighting the poor quality and lack of flavor that defined the entire meal. Unfortunately, the entrees did not improve matters. The major disappointment was the entrees. There was not a single container of rice. The Moo Goo Gai Pan arrived swimming in a white sauce, accompanied by the standard chicken slices, water chestnuts, mushrooms, and snow peas, along with surprises of zucchini, broccoli, and chewy geriatric diced "baby corn." While Moo Goo Gai Pan is supposed to taste subtle, this version lacked even basic flavor. Most upsetting, the Beef Chow Fun contained no visible rice noodles--just lots of beef and something gummy, perhaps meant to be noodles. These execution problems made the meal nearly inedible.

Ordering is quick and easy through the iPad, and I went with the Beef Perfect Bowl over rice. The portion alone impressed me. It came piled high with grilled beef, fresh greens, rice, and even an egg roll, making it feel like a complete meal rather than just a rice bowl. The beef was flavorful, the vegetables added a nice freshness, and while I'm trying to cut back on carbs, I have to admit the sticky rice soaked up all the savory sauce and was hard to stop eating. The only thing I would do differently next time is ask for jalapeños or another spicy topping. I like my food with a little more heat, and I think that extra kick would have taken the bowl to the next level. There are a handful of tables if you want to eat there, but I grabbed mine to go. Hidden gem is an overused phrase, but in this case it actually fits. Generous portions, solid flavors, and reasonable prices for this day and age.
