The crazy things we do on a whim. Xmas Holiday season it is absolutely mandatory to have some moist, hot tamales somewhere close at hand. We have closer resources, and I admittedly love the softer, moister Peruvian style even more, so keep that in mind. But my husband merely had to mention a tamale road trip, and I became weak knee'd. So, off we went in our abused little brown Kia, to give a new place some 25 miles away a chance to win our hearts. This had all started because he had watched a vlog that pronounced some *other* place sold the perfect tamales. We drooled with anticipation the entire drive. But when we arrived, no tamales were even on the menu. Crushed! Well, I never take that laying down. So Yelp to the rescue... and we found Lesley 2 was a mere mile away. Lesley's was hopping busy, but there really was no wait. Not surprising after seeing the large operation with many steamer vats behind the large counter. We got a half dozen chicken and a half dozen pork, intent on sharing with the family on New Years Eve. New Years Eve... unfortunately, we did not warm them up enough and the masa ended up somewhat heavy and dry. We found we were not in love with the fillings either, rather bland, so they were mostly left uneaten. Unwilling to throw them out, the following morning I gave them another chance, this time making a homemade pico de gallo to smother them in. A longer warm-up time and my pico is what made a difference. They were much better. So, end of story, I would probably not drive that distance again, no jackpot for us, but at least we rescued our initial disappointment. But I admit, I have my eye on yet another place in San Bernardino that had already been sold out for the day. Thankfully, tamales never go out of season!

Best Bakery. My kids were craving the little conchitas, and usually I drive to LA for them. Heard of this bakery and was recommended here. The lady that charged me was right, I told her in Spanish that it was my first time here and she said "you will be back" and she was right. My family loved the bread and I will be going back for more. You are well greeted. The place is clean and the staff is great. I truly recommend this bakery 10/10 5 stars and amazing review for a place that deserves it well.

Their tamales truly one of the best around The people there are truly hard workers, and they always give you great service. The ambience is not what most look for, but it's worth it. I was there at two in the morning.

I found this bakery thru TicTok, whenever we're in the area we'll stop by for some pan dulce. We also like their tamales although I feel they're a little pricey at $3.25 each. This location usually has a line out the door. But the pan is what has us coming back for more.

OMGOOOOOODNESS! The chicken tamales is to die for. Packed with chicken and less masa. It was well me catching 3 buses to get them. The line is out door and seeing how this was my first time; was praying to God they didn't run out God Is Good. No more Superior Grocery tamales. Thank you for making the best tamales I've had. Customer for life.

This place is very consistent with their bread. The small conchas are perfect in size too. The bolillos are great and always fresh.

I decided to take my chances and called them on the night of the 23rd, and to my surprise, they were open late (until 10pm), and I was able to place an order over the phone for one dozen tamales. Fast forward to the next day when I arrived to pick up my order. The bakery smelled delicious. Ambiance is very casual and very much a hole in the wall type of bakery. I saw they had a few pan dulce selections, but it seemed like everyone there was mainly there for the tamales, like me. The line was long, and it only got busier after I left. I picked up my tamales and immediately tried one when I got home, and OMG, WAS I SURPRISED! The tamales came individually wrapped and were SO moist, generously filled with meat, and the flavor was on point!! I got a dozen (half pork and half chicken), which turned out to be $30. I 1000% will be back for their tamales and might try their pan dulce next time.

The day we went (Friday), they also had clam chowder, so we had to get a cup of that, and it comes with a sourdough roll (which was really nicely flavored, and had a nice dense texture). We ended up getting a turkey sandwich, as well as a blueberry scone and a peanut butter cookie (I mean, we had to wait for the sandwich, and the display cases were dangerous). They were very generous with the sandwich filling, the scone was also delicious, as was the soup. The one flop here was the peanut butter cookie. Could have been moister and chewier, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. You order your sandwiches by filling out a simple order form at the back counter. Bathrooms have a code and were clean.
