The tamales and conchas are by far one of the best around in my opinion. They offer a nice variety of tamales and an even larger selection of Mexican bread. You can also buy other items but these are the only products I have tried. First I'll start off with the tamales-- the photos are from my purchase because I completely forgot to take pictures while I was there. I ordered 6 of each kind, they have 4 kind to choose from jalapeño with cheese, red pork, green chicken, and corn (sweeter side). They were all so good, freshly made and packed with deliciousness inside each tamale. My favorite one is the jalapeño with cheese they were spicy but not an overwhelming heat. Honestly it had just enough heat to enjoy and taste it. They all were great and not dry at all. The service was amazing, they always have long lines and at times it can be wrapped around the building. The staff has a great system in place allowing the wait time to be about 6-8 minutes long from start to finish (10 minutes on a busy day). If you are wise don't go alone and have someone tag along. One person to get in line while the other parks-- then one person to get Mexican bread while the other waits in line for the tamales. The inside has a small feel to it only because of the amount of customers they have at any given time. I walked in with what seemed like a short line, only for it to feel smaller in a matter of minutes with many more customers arriving. The tamales were really good. I ordered a variety dozen pork, chicken and jalapeño cheese. that was $41. I also ordered a dozen variety of Mexican bread, donuts, and pastries. They have Menudo on Sundays which was delicious. We also ordered Champurrados and a Mexican coke and monster drink. Everything was to our liking. We'll be coming back soon to try other dishes on the menu.This is strictly takeout and no restrooms. There's always a line at the door, but it goes by quickly. read more

If you're looking for tamales early in the crack of dawn, like 5 o'clock in the morning, this is the place for you. I work graveyard so when I get off this place is open and when I'm just feeling for a tamale, I come to this place. They are fresh and they do get pretty busy like early in the morning so if you're gonna go just make sure you have at least an extra 10 minutes. The tamales are good. My favorite is actually the chicken and cheese jalapeño. They are stuffed so honestly, you're not gonna get stiffed and they are reasonably priced. If you're looking for more of like the pastries cookies, my coworkers always tell me they're really good. I have not had them except for the palm leaves and that is good but other than that, my coworkers say that they love coming here for their pastries. This is an open kitchen so you can see everything, parking is limited so you might park on the street or you might be able to find a parking spot. read more

The crazy things we do on a whim. Xmas Holiday season it is absolutely mandatory to have some moist, hot tamales somewhere close at hand. We have closer resources, and I admittedly love the softer, moister Peruvian style even more, so keep that in mind. But my husband merely had to mention a tamale road trip, and I became weak knee'd. So, off we went in our abused little brown Kia, to give a new place some 25 miles away a chance to win our hearts. This had all started because he had watched a vlog that pronounced some *other* place sold the perfect tamales. We drooled with anticipation the entire drive. But when we arrived, no tamales were even on the menu. Crushed! Well, I never take that laying down. So Yelp to the rescue... and we found Lesley 2 was a mere mile away. Lesley's was hopping busy, but there really was no wait. Not surprising after seeing the large operation with many steamer vats behind the large counter. We got a half dozen chicken and a half dozen pork, intent on sharing with the family on New Years Eve. New Years Eve... unfortunately, we did not warm them up enough and the masa ended up somewhat heavy and dry. We found we were not in love with the fillings either, rather bland, so they were mostly left uneaten. Unwilling to throw them out, the following morning I gave them another chance, this time making a homemade pico de gallo to smother them in. A longer warm-up time and my pico is what made a difference. They were much better. So, end of story, I would probably not drive that distance again, no jackpot for us, but at least we rescued our initial disappointment. But I admit, I have my eye on yet another place in San Bernardino that had already been sold out for the day. Thankfully, tamales never go out of season! read more

Best Bakery. My kids were craving the little conchitas, and usually I drive to LA for them. Heard of this bakery and was recommended here. The lady that charged me was right, I told her in Spanish that it was my first time here and she said "you will be back" and she was right. My family loved the bread and I will be going back for more. You are well greeted. The place is clean and the staff is great. I have to agree -- the tamales here are some of the best I've ever had. Loaded with meat -- not oily, not dry - SO good. $2.50 a pop. Chicken, pork, sweet elote (corn) - really really good. The pan dulce is pricey ($1 to $2) but BOY is it good wow. The price of pan dulce went up at all bakeries in the US after the pandemic. Sad review to write. Drilled hubby where he bought because I thought he was fibbing, since our generational family has been going here for decades! Even my work would demand Lesley's tamales when having potlucks. However, the last 3 times over the last 6 months the masa has tasted gross, cardboard with too much salt. Today, took one bite and tossed the masa. They changed something but need to go back to the old way they made tamales for decades ~ why change something when its working great?!
