I only know it exists because I walked past it. In an area with very limited restaurants, this place is unique and interesting, not to mention DELICIOUS. It is truly a breath of fresh air. Though small, the restaurant is clean and comfortable and the staff is extremely friendly and pleasant. The prices are very reasonable. Me and my boyfriend ordered the rotisserie pork belly combo ($40) which comes with a two lb log of pork belly and three sides- we chose the mac and cheese, the adobo fried rice, and the pickled vegetables. The pork is extremely tender and juicy and permeated with smokiness. The outside is crisp and the rich fatty layer melts in your mouth. Perhaps it needed a pinch more salt, but topped with the accompanying sauce, it was quite flavorful. The Mac and cheese is not my go-to style of mac and cheese, but I couldn't stop eating it. The cheese sauce is thinner and it has some pieces of onion which ramp up the savoriness of the dish. I especially appreciated that the elbow pasta was not mushy at all, and still had a nice bite to it. The bread crumbs and crunchy croutons on top were a perfect complement. The adobo fried rice was pretty good, but probably my least favorite part of the meal. The sauce is drizzled on top and if you mix it well it's fine but otherwise you end up with a lot of bland unseasoned rice on the bottom. There was also a few crunchy dry clumps of rice. It wasn't bad though, I still ate quite a bit. The pickled vegetables were so well balanced and provided a much needed refreshing crunch to this rich heavy meal. This was too much food for two people and we were hungry! This combo would easily feed three. I will certainly be returning, possibly even frequently. I can't wait to gather up a few friends to try their kamayan feast, served on banana leaves which looks decadent and incredible.

This location is on the main drag of the little downtown section of Forest Hills, the baked goods in the front window display connect to a tall and long glass counter along the left side of the store that extends almost to the back. At the back middle and along the right side of the wall there's seating for about two dozen people at small cafe tables. They carry an assortment of traditional cakes (full and sliced), pies, cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, cupcakes, ice cream and coffee/tea drinks. A wide variety of flavors in each, so you're bound to find something sweet to satisfy most here. They are a classic bakery so from what I can tell, they don't carry items that are gluten, dairy or nut free. I've purchased their apple pie, fruit tart, berry napoleon, red velvet and chocolate fudge cakes from this or other locations in the past and they're all solid choices for desserts to share with a larger group, though I find a lot of their cake options to be on the richer side. My most recent encounter with their cakes came in the form of a slice of their seven layer cake $9.95 which is thin layers of yellow cake alternating with chocolate cream mmm pretty tasty, and their caramel cake $9.95 which had a layer of chocolate cake in the middle, sandwiched by caramel cream and white cake on either side. The latter had a pronounced caramel flavor that was enjoyable though a bit too much cream for me. My preference would be for their chocolate cakes over other cake flavors here. Their apple pie is one of my favorite apple pies anywhere tho!

How are you going to charge retail price for slices when you are selling the cake wholesale for a group of 40-50. A cake for 40-50 guests should not run more than $250 Sabrina might be an exquisitely nice person but her price list is extra mean. I also see a lot of great reviews for this place, addressing accommodation and last minute requests, but speaking strictly on price to value, there are better places out there which give you value for money. Try Lulus or Marthas's.
