Yummo!!! Best Desserts!! Light and refreshing!!!! My experience was quite unique! Saturday afternoon post run craving of something sweet, of course light and refreshing is what I was looking for. Being Chinese, those overly rich and sweet dessert was never my forte. So I googled and yelped and got my hubby to go on this adventure to finding Kim's adorable SweetRide food truck. Well, a little disappointed when I arrived since there was no truck to be found!! Since there was a phone number listed, I decided to give it a try. Kim answered the phone, explain to me how her business has grown and how it works now. And offered to meet me at her house and let me try some of her yummy dessert. My poor hubby is the best!! He turned around and drove to this new destination. Oh my goodness! This lady,Kim, whom I have never met before comes out and gives me a hug!! And hands me a big box of assorted dessert. Kim and her SweetRide team are truly class acts. We had hired SweetRide for a major event in Houston that we sponsored. When unforeseen circumstances resulted in us getting a raw deal (from a sponsorship perspective), Kim and her team went way above and beyond to help us salvage the situation and turn it into a HUGE success. This was not the role they were hired for, this was not their problem (it was ours), but like true partners, they did everything in their power to help us be successful despite the extenuating circumstances (and intense heat) - they even brought on extra resources at the last minute to accomplish this. Our participation in the event would not have been successful BUT for SweetRide's efforts. They could have easily said "not our problem, we just serve icecream" but they didn't. We had the opportunity to have SWEETRIDE for our company's annual Employee Appreciation Day! It was such a smooth, easy, and enjoyable company to book with. They are so sweet and accommodating and assuring. I was so anxious while trying to organize a companywide event, but Mrs. Kim took all my worries and gave us an ice-cream dream - we felt like kids again. How sweet it is to imagine how such a simple thing like ice-cream can make you feel like your home. All of us went home that day stuffed, in good company and ready to book our next event hopefully soon. The customer service, food, and whole experience was top tier. We had these ladies come to our cheer squad party. The girls absolutely went nuts for it. Kim was the person who scheduled everything, and she was super on top of it and professional. She was so quick to get back to me at any time and very easy to schedule. The girl Melissa was the one who served the ice cream at the party and she was great too! She served everyone in red lipstick like a retro ice cream girl and she was so cute and happy. She was truly a joy to meet. It's so rare to have such a happy, personable person in the customer service industry. She was easy to accommodate, offering to move the truck wherever we needed it. The ice cream was delicious too and the price of having the truck come out was really reasonably priced as well. I would definitely give these guys 5 stars! You have not had dessert if you have not tasted SweetRides! I'm serious: as far as cool, refreshing desserts go, this is AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I had the privilege of sampling many of the dessert flavors as (delicious) research for a company event that we want SweetRides to cater. If you have not had dessert from this place, go get it! If you have to skip lunch and drive 20 minutes to find it, it's worth it! The Italian ice, fresh fruit sorbets, chocolate turtles.... Everything they serve is deliriously tasty and REFRESHING (none of that over-sugared, heavy-in-your-belly, dessert-regret business). They just don't make dessert like this anywhere else! As the "icing on the cake," if you will, the owner, Kim, is a delight! Friendly, knowledgeable, passionate about her job. Can't thank Chicago Kim and her awesome truck SweetRide! Houston enough for helping me pull off an awesome 40th birthday street party for my hubby! Her ice cream was amazing! My hubby was so excited to have his favorite mint chocolate chip! Italian ice...fantastic and so refreshing!! And the kids loved it all....including the ice cream sandwiches and ice cream floats!!! KIM IS AMAZING AND HER FOOD IS EVEN BETTER!!!!! She helped us have the best 1 year old birthday party for our son. She was always available to talk when planning the details of the party and very punctual as well. Her prices were more than fair and the value in the services we received far exceeded the price we ended up paying. It is clear that Kim really loves what she does. Her love for what she does made the even that we hired her for awesome. She is a natural and loves to bring smiles to parties. As great as Kim was though, her food was even better. If you are looking for a Food Truck for any event, look no further. We have Kim as one of our food truck vendor during our outdoor wedding. Kim is such a sweetheart and very easy to communicate with. She is willing to work with our budget and we came out with a few selection of ice cream truffles and Italian ice. During our first meeting, we get to try some of her signature ice truffles, fruit shelled sorbet, and the italian ice. They are all wonderful. Though we did not get a chance to enjoy the good stuffs during our wedding day, we only heard good things about them from our guest (except that some our guest didn't get to try the truffles) :) We love Kim and grateful that she can be part of our special day. read more

The first time I visited Sweetride at an event I thought it would be more of the same. I don't write many reviews for places that I meet but when a place is impressive and the service is awesome and the food is exceptional, I take the time. There is no ice cream truck like this in the city or anywhere in the greater Houston area. The Italian ice is authentic. I should know, I'm from New York. The ice cream is super dense and well-made. I will be looking into booking this truck for future events, personal and corporate. Everyone on the truck was polite and I walked away having had a positive experience overall. Kim and the Sweet Ride Team are the best in the city. I am an event planner and she is not just a ice cream truck. She is creative when it come to themed events and great with treats for adults and kids. If you need a special product she is your lady to go to. She is also very attentive to your request and her team is always on time. I hire a lot of food trucks and being dependable is a major issues. I never worry about Sweet Rides being on time. SweetRide was amazing! From customer service to high quality satisfying delicious desserts. Our school rented them out for our fall break and they did not disappoint. HIGHLY recommend Sweet Ride and Chicago Kim! Amazing Italian ice and the most creamy, tasty ice cream ever.... But the winner at our neighborhood party was the "sno-growns" for the adults!! She was very accommodating and worked with our crazy schedule. She has such great personality which made it delightful to work with her. she is very patient and understanding and provided us with the best service. Kim truly went out of her way to accommodate our party. She was over booked but made every effort to make our party happen. She came through with shining stars!!!I Everyone indulged with the desserts from SweetRide Houston. We couldn't have had a better dessert truck! My favorite was the Coconut Italian Ice Cream with bits of fresh coconut in it! Yum!!! The snow cones were sweetened with cane sugar so it was very nice and refreshing. Sweet Ride has been a crowd favorite on Food Truck Fridays at Comcast. Their sorbet is fresh and light....served right out of the fruit peel/shell! Try the Mango or Coconut sorbet .....they are both amazing. I ate BOTH today ;) Kim, the owner, has so many popular dessert options, but the snow cones and the sorbet are addictive :) The root beer floats were also popular....where else can you get a classic root beer float these days!!?? It is another 5-star experience for Episcopal High School from SweetRide! Houston! All communication was timely and professional. The quote was more than fair, and the service awesome! We so appreciated SweetRide!'s flexibility as we had to postpone the event due to rain. It turned out beautifully on our rescheduled day. Houston has little to offer by way of rolling cold gourmet small batch desserts. SweetRide checks all the boxes and had excellent service to boot. The sorbets are so refreshingly dense with fruit and so is the italian ice! The ice cream cookie sandwiches are large and basic with not alot of toppings and syrups to get in the way but they are available if you just cant resist. Portions are where SweetRide prevails and taste? Really creamy, really well made with delightful folls serving it up. read more
