Another place that has been popping up all over social media so decided to give it a try and see what's all the hype about. We got the pina colada and Miami Vice soft serve daiquiri and a normal sno cone (strawberry and pineapple). The pina colada wasn't too bad 3.5/5. But the strawberry in the Miami Vice was not very good at all to be quite honest. It was so bitter/tart that it almost became inedible at a point. The sno cone wasn't too bad, with the condensed milk it was pretty good but once you're left with just the ice, you realize it's not really flavorful at all. Unfortunately this place was just social media hype in my opinion and I won't be returning. read more

Happy go lucky is such a cute outdoor chill spot with the potential of being a place for great summer nights and a spot to get pick up a frozen treat on your way home. I've given them three stars because of the horrible customer service we received on our first visit. Not only was the cashier in the opposite corner of the register window texting on her phone, there was a line forming that no one attended to, there wasn't any friendly greetings, and they messed up my order and forgot to place my toppings on my ice as well. After receiving my order I noticed it didn't have any pearls on it as it was stated on the menu. Upon returning to the cashier and confirming that pearls came with my treat she said yes and I asked had they ran out of the pearls she stated no and asked if I would like some. Well of course if that's what comes on my order, I didn't make any substitutions to my order, and that's what I paid for. The treat ended up being disappointing after all of that anyway. This is such a fun place to come and enjoy some cold refreshments. Their menu si so fun! They offer shaved ice with tapioca and exotic flavor combinations. Stopped here to try their frozen cocktails. My friend had the Miami vice, which he said the alcohol seemed a bit overpowering to him. I had the lemon drop and it truly tasted very tart towards the last 3rd of the cup. Not fully our cup of tea but I would go back to try something different to see if the place could fully win me over. read more

Stopped by for dessert after a Taco Tuesday dinner at the Taco Stand (their sister restaurant across the street). I had bad reviews from friends, but decided to give it a go. I went with the Aloha Island and the wife went with a watermelon and passion fruit. Mine was so good! Didn't try my wife's, but she enjoyed it. Our kid definitely loved it. They have two sizes regular and large (the regular was huge!). Definitely will be back, but want to try the soft serve cocktails. Want to try the Pina Colada or the Espresso Martini. read more

Came on a Friday afternoon for a sweet treat and this was great to cool off from the hot and humid Houston summers. I got the happy rainbow and my friend got the miami vice. I tried to substitute the pineapple syrup in the happy rainbow for the mango flavor, but they did not allow substitutions. I also asked for less syrup but mine came out overflowing with syrup. With syrup spilling out on the sides and the ice melting quickly in the heat it was a bit messy to eat, but the flavors were good and it was refreshing. I think it was a bit sweeter than id prefer, but I did enjoy the creamy scoop of ice cream and the fruity mochi bites. (5.5/10) The Miami vice was super cooling and you can definitely taste the alcohol. I would say that the drinks are a bit stronger than the average frozen/ blended drink you'd get at a bar. I am SO HAPPY we have this right before the Texas summer picks up!! The location is prime and easily accessible to other restaurants nearby. It is in a hotspot near La Lucha, Snooze, and Burger Joint- so there is a bit of traffic in the area (the line was wrapped around but moved pretty quickly). They offer an assortment of shaved ice and frozen cocktails which is nifty. They allow three flavors on customized ones- I opted for mango, pineapple and strawberry with chamoy. The ice was soooooo soft, this was honestly the best that I've had in years. The syrups are not overly sweet and the portion prices were pretty decent. Service was quick and with a smile. The only con was that when ordering in the drive-thru, you get your picks and a styrofoam cup with a flat lid. Small blip but would be nice to get the advertised cups! To the Management Team at Happy Go Lucky, My girlfriend and I visited your location at 2102 N Shepherd Dr in Houston around 5:20 PM today and had a very disappointing experience in the drive-thru. We began placing our order, but the employee told us she had not received it and asked us to repeat everything. As we repeated the order, the employee was laughing and seemed distracted rather than paying attention. Before we had even finished ordering, she gave us a total as if our order was complete. Having to repeat our order multiple times was frustrating, but what bothered us most was the employee's attitude and lack of professionalism. We felt the interaction was rude, disrespectful, and dismissive of us as customers. Because of this experience, we chose to leave without placing an order. It wasn't the best frozen we've ever had and the frose and the strawberry dacquiri tasted pretty similar, but it is a fun option near us now. We were super excited to try this place. We went through the drive through and it was a 10-15 minute wait. We ordered the strawberry delight, aloha island, and the mangonada. We weren't expecting to have our Hawaiian ice stuffed into a styrofoam cup, no one asked if we had a preference or told us how it would come, so that was disappointing. The fact that the girl who handed us our items told us it was dripping but didn't clean it up before putting it in the bag and handing it over to us. Finally, the flavor was lackluster for all three flavors. The condensed milk, pooping boba, chamoy were all yummy, (the mochi was not), the ice cream at the bottom was yummy, but the actually ice was tasteless. Happy Go Lucky is finally open! Definitely recommended, especially on a hot summer day. The drive thru line was backing up onto Shepherd Dr, so we decided to order in and eat there. Beware of traffic in the area due to the opening. Lots of cars and road ragers!! The ordering process was smooth and the line moved quickly. They give you a buzzer and call out numbers when orders are ready. I ordered a custom regular size with an ice cream base. I chose 3 flavors: passion fruit, tigers blood, lime. I added sweetened condensed milk. It was about $7-8 total and very filling! The order was called pretty quick, it took maybe 6 minutes. The space is very colorful and has a fun, energetic vibe. 1/2 of the seating is in the shade and half is in the sun (depending on time of day / we went at 5pm).
