This was my second visit after about six months. I ordered a beef burek and a dessert cake. When I checked out, I noticed the price didn't match the menu on the wall. The beef burek was listed as $8, but I was charged $10. Linda mentioned that the prices had recently increased but the menu hadn't been updated yet. I completely understand that prices change, but it didn't feel great to only realize the difference at checkout. It would be really helpful to let customers know before they order. I'd recommend checking the price with them in advance, just to avoid any confusion. I also noticed that the filling in the burek was quite small this time. The pastry itself was still big and puffy, but the amount of filling inside felt much less than before. Another small thing is that there were no name or price tags for the sweets. Decided to pick up a dessert from this place, located in Astoria, Queens, it's very nice and bright when you walk inside plenty of seats to enjoy a coffee and a treat. I tried the Kataifi . All I can say is that this is definitely the best I've had in this entire area. You can tell baked with fresh good ingredients. Freshly made . I liked the perfect consistency and delicate texture. I was able to take small pieces just with my fork, that's how fresh it was . The cashier was friendly and helpful. I was passing by this cute little new bakery when I realized I hadn't eaten all day. I popped inside because they said on a cute little chalkboard sign that they have borek and who am I to deny that? Turns out, the bakery is Albanian and--for my Muslim friends--their meat is halal! I got a meat borek, an iced coffee, and a chocolate/hazelnut dessert called bajadera. Wow! I have a severe sweet tooth and after living in Astoria for 2+ years I finally went to this bakery consisting of Authentic Albanian sweets, baklava, Bureks (savory pastries) and overall incredible homestyle desserts that just bring you back to your childhood. There are so many overhyped bakeries in the area with nonsense things like cake pops and other subpar novelties. I ordered a pistachio cake and it was one of the most heavenly things I've had in NYC in a minute. It was just the right amount of sweetness mixed with more complex flavors. I know they also make cakes for events and I'll surely be coming back for one of those. Support your local bakeries!!! read more

We loved this little start-up bakery which recently opened up on Ditmars Blvd. Fresh desserts, baklava, custom cakes, cream-filled cupcakes, and so many chocolates filed desserts it was very hard to settle on a few particular selections in the end, we purchased some baklava and chocolate-filled cupcakes, and pastries. Boy were they delicious. Upon returning home everything was consumed within a day. All in all a great success; we will be back. I don't even know where to begin with this review because I don't really take the time to review a place unless I really feel that strongly about it and for me to give five stars I have to feel very strongly about it..., which is why I'm here this is a hidden gem and I am so grateful to have discovered Linda and her amazing boutique shop. Everything she makes is from handcrafted authentic recipes her background being Albanian. She also makes a variety of beloved traditional delights on top of this, she is a cake designer I was just so blown away by her quality I had the spinach burek and freshly made Albanian donuts.... I'm very picky when it comes to my donuts I only like two places in New York Peter Pan and donut plant and these were like little clouds of heaven.., you could taste the love. On top of all of this incredible service food quality atmosphere with cute outdoor seating as well. She is incredible opening the store a year ago at the age of 31 all on her own. I am just an absolute this young lady. I visit once a week from Long Island and I am looking forward to coming in next week to try more of her specialties. Went back to pay and get the bag. got home to 2 desserts that were not what I had ordered, had NO TASTE Whatsoever except for the overly sweet bad quality honey. middle Eastern desserts from older bakeries on Ditmars or Steinway are packed with flavors & not soaking in watery hohey. May e it was a one off but it sure was wasted money for me. the walnuts were just thrown in there. no orange blossom water or crushed pistacchios. No cinnamon or vanilla, nothing but cloying sweetness. Disheartened bc I was truly looking forward to the desserts. read more

Finally a great Burek in Astoria. We tried meat and cheese it was delicious and a proper Yogurt to go with it!!!

As a long-time Astoria resident along this stretch of Ditmars where I have witnessed how businesses have come and gone over the decades (especially where her storefront is), having a clean and brightly place like Linda's opening up is more the exception than the rule. All of the displayed goods are homemade, from scratch, by the proprietress herself. I wandered into her store because I read her placard that said burek is made there. If you've never tried authentic, made-from-scratch burek (especially the very thin dough) - a simple staple in many eastern European/Balkan countries - then park yourself in Linda's and order either a cheese, cheese and spinach, or meat burek. I am raving about this dish because my Bulgarian mother used to make burek and LInda's is as close to my mother's as I have tasted in over 25 years. And I it is here in my neighborhood! I am writing this review because she is bringing something new to the neighborhood and I want her to succeed. read more

I saw some posts on Instagram that this place was open. I went with my girlfriends to check it out. Oh boy where we in for a surprise. All the cakes looked like European/Mediterranean style cakes. We ordered all the cakes that she had that day available. We couldn't believe how delicious these cakes were. We were in a market for a 50th birthday cake and we ordered a custom cake for our friend and she will be able to make orchids on it and showed us a sample of what she did in the past. It looked incredible. Once we were done with cakes she told us that she makes burek, we all ordered all 3 kinds of burek. We had one there and it was just warm beautiful flakes of dough filled with spinach, chees or meat. I took 3 home and my family couldn't rave enough about it. This is a place where I will continue to go back. I wish she would have a store in Westchester County. This is a must place. Take a trip it will be worth it. The place the coffee everything will feel like you are in Europe. And the Owner I am assuming her name is Linda, is very welcoming. read more
