I was in the area and wanted to get some fresh bread for my kids. I got their 7 grain loaf which was so pillowy soft, and they sliced the loaf for us. I also indulged in some of their sweets, bc when in Parisi..? Their cannoli was delicious. They stuffed the shells fresh/to order so the shells stayed crispy. Rainbow cookies were great. We got several of their biscotti cookies - not a fan. Barely any almond flavor. It was also stale and soft. Other than the biscotti mishap, the ladies at the cashier were very patient with me when I was deciding what to order and asking what were on display. As soon as you walk in you notice the look and feel of an old school bakery that caters to all your bakery needs. The baked goods look so fresh . I also love all the bread there, & grain, rye , white all available to be sliced with the old school slicing machine! I am a cookie person so I tried a small bag of the different types they offer. They were so good and not overly buttery and a slight crispness. They weren't falling apart either which usually indicates old. They were great , even the jelly was perfectly sandwiched between the cookies . The rainbow ones are yummy too, had to try ! Parisi Bakery is overrated, overpriced and the service and quality are horrible. The food they have is not fresh, yet you pay much higher than better quality bread from Trade Fare down the street. You also have to wait forever before their disgruntled staff, that barely speaks English, will help you. I also noticed cockroach droppings, and dust around the bread area towards the food prep area in the back. Eat here at your own risk. read more

I cannot get enough of this bakery's cookies. Even from outside the store, you can smell their divine baked goods. My favorite cookies are the ones with the maraschino cherry in the middle - I could eat an entire pound of them in one sitting if I let myself indulge fully. I usually get a bit over half a pound of cookies and find their cookies to be moist but wonderfully crumbly at the same time. Their cookies with the long sprinkles, the raspberry linzer sandwiched cookies, and the triple colored layer cookies are my favorite. I really don't want to start competition with other local bakeries because they all bring something unique to the Astoria table, but I prefer this one by far to others on Broadway, despite selection being mostly cookie-focused. I have yet to try their bread because I'm so hyperfixated on their cookies. The cashier is always quite nice and bears with me as I try to numerically qualify how much of each cookie I want. It goes something like "six of those on the left with the cherry in the middle - five of the ones with rainbow sprinkles - the long rainbow sprinkles! etc...". I think I'll check if they each have official names next time so I take a little less time, but they've been so accommodating. Anyway, I'm glad this place exists so I can get my cookie groove on as often as possible. I was dying for a bakery-fresh, crusty, chewy sourdough loaf and had always wanted to try parisi. I was surprised when the woman picked up a light-colored perfect circle loaf. This is the furthest thing from sourdough. It is white bread. No tang, no chew, no crust. It's also not good. I was thinking about going back and asking them which loaves are which to see if they made a mistake, but I saw another review that said something similar. Really disappointing. I stumbled onto this place on my way home after a huuugggee meal at Astoria Seafood. I wanted something sweet and a cup of coffee. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I ended up here. It's an unassuming storefront, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It's also small without a lot of selection, so I was worried I wouldn't like it. I ordered a slice of their raspberry crumb cake, a few mini eclairs and a cappucino. The raspberry crumb cake is out of this world! At first, I thought it would be dry because the cake portion is so big, but I was wrong. The streusel on top is amazing as well. It adds a nice sweetness and crunch. My husband loved the eclairs and ended up bringing a box of them home. My lesson learned: never judge a book by it's cover. I really wanted to love Parisi Bakery. I purchased the sourdough and got it sliced. Sourdough bread is supposed to have a tang to the taste. I didn't taste it. The sourdough at Parisi also didn't have the chewy texture I was expecting from a sourdough or at least enough of it. The bread didn't blow my mind. It's definitely fresh. So, Im a huge fan of rainbow cookies... Came here and picked up rainbow cookies, mini B&W cookies and, linzer tart cookies. The rainbow cookies were just OK. It needed more jam in-between the layers. This bakery is absolutely amazing. I was first introduced to this place by a friend who would always gift my family one of their cheesecakes. I am telling you now, their cheesecake is TO. DIE. FOR. That is the only thing I ever come to get. I've never tried anything else at this bakery before so I can't give my opinion on that but trust me, if you come here you have to try a slice if not get the whole pie. It's super cheap too! One slice of cheesecake is about $3.50, The 6" is $13 and the 8" is less than $20, which I think is an amazing price for high quality cheesecake. It didn't seem like they had the full selection I'm used to at an NYC Italian bakery. I was specifically looking for the almond flavored pignoli cookies and didn't see them.
