Wasn't the best. A lot of food for what you spend. I found the meats overly fatty. The sauce was delicious and I did like that. I wasn't impressed with the rice though. They also seem to have odd hours. I'd driven by dozens of times when they were closed and thought they had closed permanently before I ate there. I have'nt been here in a long while. Not since the old location a block or so east. When i first got to Utah,this restaurant was heaven sent. My wife and i would regularly go here to pick up our dinner. We went through a very bad divorce, and i stopped going here as it reminded me of her. Fast forward to i dunno how many years later, they posted a vid of their poke dish.WOW! I started to salivate just watching it. I knew i had to go get some.... First impressions walkin in; This venue is much more refined and welcoming than most other Polynesian style restaurants in the area.it was also much cleaner.the menu is very clear and easy to read.it is also very explanatory for guests that wouldnt be familiar with polynesian food but not cluttered. The Service; The service is exemplary.speedy, friendly, and professional. Yet,its much more than that. You really feel as if you're old friends coming into this restaurant,almost family. They truly embrace the aloha spirit in this establishment and not just use it to sell a product. The Food; oooooh my!my goodness! Ok, i wont post how generous the portions are because im really more about quality. I wont post that Sweet was so kind to give me palusami and kalo complimentary as not to try to take away from the value that is recieved here. But the taste of the food... best there is.ive eaten at all of the Hawaiian BBQ joints in Utah County and alot in SLC,and this one beats them all,hands down!The kalbi ribs was soooo ono! A succulent salty & sweet rib that explodes with flavor every awesome bite!The kalua pork is cooked perfectly.not too salty,not overcooked,& most of all not too greasy. Places in the area often get this one wrong. Its either dry as a desert or swimming in grease over cooked.so theyll put gravy on top to hide that.not here.its just cooked right! The chicken was juicy and flavorful with just a nice little bit of char to add more flavor. The poke was spellbinding.it basically told me that this is the only place i can come for poke! And i have to listen.soooo yummy,and plenty too! I wish i was able to post a pic,but i cant.as soon as i hit the car the smell turned me into a ravenous beast. First time in on a recent trip to town and the Big Kahuna was the best burger we've had anywhere. I love Sweet's. First, I've got to say that I'm overly partial to Hawaiian food, so my review is biased. They're just the whole package: Cheap, tasty lunch specials you can pre-order online so as to limit the amount of time you spend ordering (not that it takes that long in-store), large portions of meat, plenty of sides, etc. I usually get the chicken katsu lunch plate, which looks small, but is deceptively filling. For about $5, you get a scoop of chicken, a scoop of rice and another side. The fresh pineapple is delicious, but sometimes, I pretend to be healthy and I order a salad. The Kalua pork and the teriyaki chicken are also pretty good and the people are super nice. Definitely my top lunch choice these days. read more

What a wonderful surprise! We hadn't had Hawaiian food before, so we weren't sure what to expect. Aunty Sweet's daughter Omai was on hand to guide us! Omai explained the different dishes, how they were made, what made them unique. She made recommendations for us, and we loved it all! Best of all, we got a chance to visit with Omai, and learn about her family and the restaurant's beginnings with her mom and dad. What a wonderful family place this is!
