Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had dining in Brooklyn. The server asked for our order after leaving us waiting for 10 minutes, didn't address us at all, then arrived 20 minutes later with the wrong food. He set it down, walked away, then came back and said "wait that's not yours". He then returned another 20 minutes later with the right meal. The lamb burger was cold when it arrived. Upon telling him this, he said "sorry" and walked away again. I had the meal packaged up and left, no discount or comp was offered. I can at least feed it to my neighbors dog. read more

The food was really good but the service was atrocious. The "manger" as he said he was, was friendly but on his phone the entre time. The waitress and or hostess never stopped in on us to find out if we needed anything (and we were right next to them). Yet both the hostess and waitress were standing around the entire time. They walked by me several times but never checked to see if I needed or wanted anything. Finally, I stopped a kitchen person to ask for the check. Another 10 minutes went by and I had to ask again for the check. I still left a tip, more so out of guilt for the kitchen staff. read more

My boyfriend and I have been to sweetwater so many times not only because it is out favorite spot to go to but also because the service is amazing. They never disappoint us!! The amount of care and love they show their customers is visible. The drinks are amazing and the food as well. Wether its brunch, lunch or dinner the food always taste great. I think like most people I came here and enjoyed the service/atmosphere more than the food. The food was totally fine, but I didn't eat anything where I was blown away. I love the look of this place. It's very old New York/Parisian. It's a very old building with a lot of charm that they've really preserved. The vibe is very comforting. You feel at home. The menu has a lot of delicious sounding options that I want to come back and try. I had the lamb burger and I loved that it came with a lentil salad and a perfectly toasted English muffin, but the flavor just wasn't there. It was pretty bland. Thankfully it had a yogurt sauce and harissa sauce but still. It lacked salt. And the salad seemed to be completely undressed. My sister has been trying to convince me to go here for months; I finally caved in and have zero regrets! I'll be honest, when I saw the menu I didn't find it intriguing. In fact, I was debating whether it'd be acceptable to pay $19 for steak tacos. I gave the tacos a chance and they are by far one of the best tacos I've had in my life. The steak was perfectly cooked, the guac was fresh with the perfect amount of lemon, the green salsa left me wanting more, the queso fresco - amazing, and finally the corn tortillas tasted homemade but can't confirm that. It was so delicious that I went back the following week only to discover that the steak tacos were not permanently on the menu but happened to be a special item on that day I visited. I was literally heartbroken, I'm probably being dramatic. I had a burger instead which was tasty. Sweetwater please bring the steak tacos back!!!!! read more

The drinks here are strong, but I don't really mind strong drinks so I finished mine and my friend's. The best part of my experience here was the bread. Stopped by this lovely restaurant for a late lunch. We got seated in the backyard (which I was hoping for), which made our meal feel super relaxed. I loved the simple decor of the backyard and the pop pink. We started off the the mussels and it was so good! It was enough to share with 2 people as a starter or a single person's entree. We enjoyed eating this dish so much - flavorful but not overwhelming. It wasn't too salty and the tomato base was just right. It went really well with the bread, although I wish the bread was just a softer. I ordered the grain bowl salad with an egg. It was much needed on a hot day, when you just want something light. It had all the right textures in the salad and everything came together really nicely. I really enjoyed having this for lunch. My girlfriend ordered the grilled fish tacos, which was also very nicely made with a hint of spiciness to it. She seemed to enjoyed the tacos very much. The fish had a really strong burnt taste to me (probably from the grill) but other than that, it was good~ Overall, I would recommend to stop by for brunch/lunch/dinner. We came here in the thick of Covid when a bunch of bars were doing takeout cocktails only and got a really delicious drink. We were wondering around more recently looking for somewhere to have a night cap and decided to try again, we were happy we did. Oh holy cow yes. Book a reservation for this spot. Keep your party small (it's a pretty cramped place), but do go! They are churning out truly delicious delights here. Joined in on my friends birthday dinner plans here. I ordered one of the specials of the day, the crab cakes, served with grapefruit and an aioli and side salad. Each part of this dish was outstanding. I haven't had a crab cake this great in a long, long time. And that aioli, wow. My friends ordered the brisket pappardelle, and I tried a piece. Great earthy flavor. The pappardelle could have cooked for a second longer (for me) at least, but I'm not mad. The richness of the flavor sells the dish. Came here for dinner on Sunday 10/7. The outside is unassuming, but as you walk in the restaurant gets progressively cuter. My partner and I were given an option to sit inside or outside. I was confused because I didn't see any tables out in front, but the waiter directed us to the back to show us a secret garden-esque back patio that was begging to host a dinner party. Our server was cool and helpful. My partner started with the squid and I just stuck to the bread. The bread was great and the oil and vinegar tasted of a good quality. I can't even eat squid, but my partners dish looked like something I would risk an allergic reaction for. I had the strawberry cocktail which had fresh strawberries, so it was good. For the main course, I had the lamb papperdelle and he had the hangar steak. I got the papperdelle because I never usually get pasta and wanted to try something new. YO! I'm so glad I did! I have never tasted pasta so good (due keep in mind I'm not a big pasta eater.) I'm usually the kind of person that needs to add some extra sauce to a dish, preferably hot sauce, but this dish was perfect! My partners hangar steak, again, don't usually eat steak, but YO! So damn good and he got it medium which I usually turn my nose up at (I don't care, fight me!). But it was so flavorful, had crispy ends, but still moist. It came with onion rings that were good, but could have had more crunch. If there was anything the restaurant got wrong was the dessert menu, was really looking for a tiramisu and nothing on the menu looked inspiring to me, but I'm not gonna doubt that they have hits. Truly awful food, unless you enjoy sucking back butter. If you buy the bass, the steak, or whatever protein, it will be soaked in butter which is how unskilled chefs at Great American Restaurants make things "taste good." I have never eaten here and not had diarrhea for 2 days because of the butter. Tonight, I got the Southwestern Salad which turned out not to be a salad at all but a rich salty, buttery, pile of what I would consider, more like salad dressing, that one could possibly scatter sparingly over actual greens to make something palatable and not waste it. I just go there because my kids like the place for sentimental reasons, despite that they get diarrhea every time from the butter food too. It makes no sense to me! The beer was good, but I am convinced that Sweetwater fans are in denial of the correlation between eating at SweetWater and 2-day diarrhea. read more

I can't say enough positive things about our experience at Sweetwater. We started by showing up at 7:30 on a packed Saturday night to find that our reservations for 6 had been lost.....or was it? It turns out we made our reservation for a place called Sweetwater in New Jersey, and when we figured it out they actually gave us a table. Totally unexpected. On top of that our server Benjamin was amazing the whole time - and top notch service in Williamsburg on a Saturday night is hard to find. The food was spectacular. We had heard about the ribeye steak and it lived up to expectations. The Pappardelle with brisket was legendary. Please don't take this off the menu! Came here for an early dinner, around 5pm on a Sunday. The ambiance was that of a diner meets a bar. It wasn't too crowded, we were the only ones in the back for a bit. The service was great but the food and drinks weren't anything special. There were two vegetarian entrees and a lentil burger so I liked that they had a variety of options. I got the lentil burger and the Pabloso which is a jalapeno tequila cocktail both were pretty bland. The bun of the lentil burger was so chard it left a bitter taste to that took over the little flavor the lentil patty had. There was also a side of jalapeno jam which was not spicy at all - I thought it might have been homemade ketchup at first! The side salad was nice though. The cocktail had a jalapeno flavor to it but that also had no spice to it at all, that was a let down.
