Came here for dinner with friends and would definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you want one of the outdoor tables or a spot in their cozy indoor nook. The service was a bit slow, but it felt more like a place designed for lingering and catching up rather than a quick meal. The restaurant was packed, which probably contributed as well! The drinks were the highlight for me. They had some fun, creative options, and the watermelon feta martini was surprisingly really good same goes for the king street lemonade! As for the food, it was solid but not something I'd go out of my way for. The small plates and charcuterie were much stronger than the larger entrees. Everything was flavorful, but a few dishes felt slightly off balance... like either one spice or ingredient took over, or something felt missing. For example, the pastas were lacking seasoning and you had to think about the taste rather than it coming to you. I'd come back for a cocktail, a few small plates, and the atmosphere. Hopefully they take into consideration in some of the reviews to improve. However, the vibe is really what makes this place worth visiting. Favorite Dishes: Tuna tartar, pork belly

This is my second stop here while passing thru Leesburg. Cocktails and food both are always delectable. Service is also pretty great. We always choose to sit at the bar, and the servers are informative, knowledgeable and full of humor. Will return next time I'm in the burg.

Came here for brunch, with a 11AM reservation, we got sat immediately upon arrival. So glad we chose the time we did and made reservations as it filled up within 30-40 minutes. The ambiance is beautiful as it has the historic charm, modern, and cozy atmosphere. (Amazing location as it's on the prime corner of downtown Leesburg) My friends and I ordered their Espresso Martini which comes with Tito's, espresso, coffee liqueur, Grand Marnier. Amazing martini, bold, perfectly balanced. For appetizer we got the deviled eggs, which came with candied bacon. Love the salty and sweet combination. For entree my friend and I got Shutters Eggs Benedict (poached eggs, lump crabcake, fresh English Muffin, béarnaise, with fresh fruit) and Ricotta Tartine (house baked sourdough toast, whipped ricotta, caramelized pears, spiced honey, hazelnuts). The Benedict was perfect, crab cake was flavorful and balanced perfectly with the béarnaise, and neither one overpowered the other. Ricotta Tartine was very unique and good, however, I would not recommend that as an entree and it instead should be considered an appetizer or even dessert as it was a much sweeter entree. With the Ricotta Tartine being 'sweet' , we actually ended the meal with some Mussels (white wine, shallots, garlic, crème fraîche, baguette) to finish it off on the savory profile we were looking for. Lovely spot and looking forward to trying their dinner menu.

The restaurant is BEAUTIFULLLL really took my breath away when I walked in! They did such a great job building and designing!! The staff was all super friendly and kind. Honestly made the experience a 5 stars in itself!! I loved that they acted like real people and wanted to have real conversations wish it wasn't rare lol but it is!! Super sweet people. Such delicious food! The brunch menu is pretty limited, but it still has some great options.

Ambiance: A+ we didn't go into the restaurant area, but we ate dinner in the bar area which was a stylish and cool area. Food: D The Caesar salad was watery and didn't really have any flavor besides wet lettuce. We ordered the onion dip which was great, but only came with four hash brown sticks the size of steak fries. Maybe if it came with six sticks or even potato chips, it would justify the $14 price tag. We had a lot of dip left with nothing to dip in it. I got the wings, and they were decent although I prefer fried to baked ones My wife got a bowl of soap. Overall, the food is way overpriced and not good enough to justify the high costs. Service: D After being greeted quickly with water and bread, it went downhill from there. Wife and I were planning on just snacking on apps and having a few drinks, but there were long intervals between when we saw our waiter. Food was delivery promptly, but it took forever to get in another drink order. Waiter was asking about dessert before realizing I was still waiting for my second beer I ordered ten minutes ago. After dropping off the check, we waited about 15 minutes before I finally got up and handed him the bill so we could get out of there because we got tired of sitting around. No real reason for us to come back.

My friend and I just had brunch here a few Saturday's ago for the first time and we had a great time! The restaurant vibe feels upscale and the décor was cute and unique. We were seated in a small room off to the side of the beautiful bar near the front entrance. The restaurant was crowded but the room we were in felt cozy and quieter. There is another private room space as well as an outdoor patio space. We ordered off the brunch menu, which is more limited, but still offered a variety of options. We started with some pomegranate mimosas that we both enjoyed. We both ordered the shakshuka which was so delicious. Our server was super friendly and attentive and helped recommend items from the menu. Overall we had a nice experience and I'd definitely come back for brunch, or even for dinner and drinks!

The best part of my night at Shutters, besides my company, was enjoying the beautiful outdoor space in their back patio. They are still new so I gave the service some grace and our server was really nice but things did take a while. None of the food I had blew my mind or had exceptional flavor. I think the most memorable/best item may have been the French fries! We sat at the bar after dinner and that was a great spot for a night cap. I'm going to let them work out the menu(that continues to change) before trying the food again but I did enjoy the venue overall!

    Hors d'oeuvres. Delicious.

I was just looking for some good coffee one morning when I saw a little hole in the wall and realized it's a little coffee shop! I've gotten an iced coffee there, and a matcha the next two times. Both are great. The baristas are all really nice and will very likely be able to make you something if you wanna tweak an item on the menu a bit. And, most importantly, their matcha is the real deal. It's not the bitter and awful cheap stuff that most cafes will sell to you for the same price. This is the good stuff, and you can tell they make any syrup they add to it in house. It's so refreshing. If you love coffee, and especially matcha, this place is it!

Literally the worst service we have ever had…read more We had family in town and had never been here before. We were seated in the closed off dining area, to the right of the hostess desk. It took 10 mins for anyone to come see us. I had to get up to ask for someone to get our orders. To boot, the person who was supposed to assist us, was in the back hall by the restrooms texting and hanging out. I assume no one told her that we were there. The cider I ordered was warm, so I had to ask for a cup of ice at the bar. My husband's burger was meant to be medium well and it was raw. Lastly, it's extremely loud in that room. The chairs are metal, and when drug against the flooring, they make an awful sound! They really need a form of rubber on the legs. Very hard for grandma, who has hearing aids. Poor thing was so uncomfortable. The room next to us, with a door leading to the window to the kitchen, was so incredibly annoying. They were pounding the entire time we were seated, and it was LOUD! We all just sat completely silent. This was an incredibly disappointing visit and we will not come back.

If a place executes its vision at a high level and exceeds expectations for its lane, that is a 5 star experience to me. And this meal absolutely did that. We relocated to Northern Virginia a couple of years ago, so we have been exploring the dining scene here with fresh eyes. Since moving, we have visited The Wine Kitchen several times, and each visit has been consistently impressive. They are truly a gem in Leesburg. We went with the pasta tasting menu and it was an outstanding, technique driven progression that really showcased the kitchen's command of fresh pasta and sauce work. The pasta itself was the foundation of the experience, clearly house made, with impeccable texture across every course. Each shape was cooked to a true al dente, with that ideal balance of tenderness and bite that only comes from properly handled fresh dough. Nothing felt heavy or muddled, which is no small feat in a multi course pasta progression. The mushroom tortellini in brodo was beautifully restrained. The broth had deep umami from the mushroom parmesan base, yet remained clean and structured, allowing the delicate tortellini filling and chestnut mushrooms to shine. The truffled Alfredo could have easily gone overboard, but the richness was controlled, silky, properly emulsified, and well seasoned, with the truffle supporting rather than overwhelming the dish. The lobster ravioli was another technically strong plate. The pasta was thin and tender, the filling sweet and delicate, and the crab fat sauce added depth while the ginger Calabrian soffritto brought a subtle lift of heat and brightness that kept the dish from feeling too rich. The short rib rotolo delivered deep, slow cooked savoriness, balanced nicely by the ricotta and the earthy luxury of the truffle fonduta. What really made the dish stand out for me were the crispy edges on the pasta, which added a beautiful textural contrast to the tender filling. For dessert, we enjoyed the tasting menu dessert and also added the cornflake French toast. The French toast completely wowed us. Texturally, it was outstanding, crisp exterior, custardy interior, and that nostalgic cornflake crunch elevated into something refined. It had richness, sweetness, and contrast in all the right ways, and ended up being my favorite of the two desserts. Overall, this is how you do a pasta focused tasting menu with finesse, strong technique, thoughtful balance, and flavors that feel indulgent without becoming heavy. In its category, this was a 5 star experience for me, and I would absolutely come back.

We saw pictures of the Escelon and it looked like the perfect ambiance for us. We were mistaken and we should NOT have come here. The five us chose to do the $50 restaurant week course with the added $25 wine pairings. When we saw that the line up came with a sweet wine, we politely asked the server if there was any way to switch that specific pour for another wine. She immediately said it was "not possible". The wine sat there untouched. Mind you, we had purchased a full bottle for the table along with the added wine pairings. It was a simple modification for 3 OUNCE pours. Ridiculous. The pours were also inconsistent. The first two courses and wine pairings were exceptional and delicious. As was our appetizer and bottle of wine. When it came to the last course, the dessert. It really left a bad taste in our mouths. The crème brûlée looked like scrambled eggs. It was runny and lumpy. It looked more like cottage cheese than a custard. Like the sweet wine, we all left it untouched. We explained our grievances to the server and she said that she would not tell the chef because he was "sensitive" and she was too afraid of him. As a former server myself, I couldn't help but be upset. When it comes to customer service, your job is to have your guests leave happy and wanting to come back. That was absolutely not the case for us. The fact that we spent $600 for such a horrible experience is laughable. Don't waste your money!
