BLUF: Tasty food. Lunch/brunch specials are small portions but the prices are ok. Generally prices are a high reflecting the horrible economy. Service was attentive but not warm & welcoming. Parking easy. Roomy restaurant & clean. The lunch specials during the work week are worth it if you're watching your budget. Keep in mind portions are pretty tiny, though. These prices reflect costs of dinnertime entrees a few years ago if that's helpful and regular priced entrees now run $18 and higher. So, it's certainly not cheap to eat here if you're not able to benefit from specials. For a chain, though, I was quite surprised by how everything down to the rice & beans had good flavor. Most of the time the rice & beans just hang out on the plate & most people won't eat them. But here, I wanted to eat all of both...mind you....portions are small with specials, so if you don't want to leave hungry, you'll want to eat all of it. It's a good place for groups. Seems like people enjoy the booze. It wasn't very crowded for a weekend lunch. Not sure whether that's because people are saving & eating out less, or whether it was just because it was a late lunch for us. Nonetheless, it was pretty empty for a Saturday afternoon. The mac & cheese looked like instant outa the box stuff rather than a fresh made in-house recipe. Disappointing (and I understand this is for kids, but don't kids deserve freshly made, quality food at a restaurant, too???) Worth the drive? Maybe no more than 10 miles. The food was good & if you have a hankering for this kind of cuisine, it's not a bad choice. Are there more memorable restaurants out there? I ordered the lunch steak fajita; it was a perfect size and was flavored well. They have some of the best churros I have ever had; they are filled with dulce de leche. My friend and I ordered through Uber Eats and the tacos were amazing!! I ordered the crunchy tacos and he ordered the soft tacos. I ordered three crunchy tacos, one with steak, one with chicken, and one with Carnitas. And they were all absolutely spectacular!! My friend ended up ordering the three soft flour tortillas both with the steak and he devoured his!! He said they were phenomenal!! We sat at the bar mid day and had some drinks and food. The bar was immaculately clean and I used to work in a restaurant so I know how that goes. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. When I arrived the place was bustling with guests waiting to be seated. My order was ready and I picked it up from the front host stand and was on my way. The burrito (Burrito Mexicano) had steak & chicken with grilled onions, peppers, spanish rice and black beans, and was topped with creamy queso and chorizo. The meat was under seasoned and the vegetables were cooked too much for my liking. In addition, the chorizo was overpowering so I had to remove about half of it. I did finish the meal but would not order this specific dish again. I didn't realize the meal comes with complimentary chips & salsa as I did not see that stated online, so I had a lot of extra, which I gladly consumed!
