This was my first time visiting a Sweetwaters cafe and I will definitely be back!! The great customer service alongside pleasant vibes and good drinks makes a great cafe! The owner is very kind and informative! The staff are also super nice. The prices are a bit high in my opinion however I understand being that they are specialty drinks and such! The only thing to point out is that there are no paper towels in the bathroom. My friend likes to use paper towels to open the door to prevent germs getting on her hands while exiting. I only suggest that there be paper towel in the bathroom. I recommend a visit to this place! read more

This was my first visit in Sweetwaters. I was there for a tasting. This business is very spacious, well lit, and the staff was welcoming. The Strawberry Bliss, French Vietnamese au lait, and Nepali Brew were my favorite beverages. The OMG chocolate cake was also memorable. I was in introduced to this place by a friend of mine that works at the university across the street. I got there a bit early and didn't know what to expect upfront, but I had a great conversation with the employee there and she gave me the complete rundown and story on the Business and the Coffee options. This isn't your typical Coffee Shop, and that's a good thing. Hand pulled coffee and espresso. It just makes the best experience for flavor, and I was not disappointed! As a former Coffee Shop owner, I know Quality and this place definitely has it going on. I got the peppermint mocha and it was an exemplary. I should've ordered half the sugar, which was my error. I'm definitely returning when I'm driving to the area. It's not Starbucks, pricey, and a flavor is better than SB by a mile. It's plenty of space and the interior feels like a college town - a lot of room for hanging out and doing work. There's an easy drive-through in case you can't get out of your car. read more

The proprietor was also very friendly and knowledgeable about the coffee and tea offerings. You would expect that but he honestly went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying our beverages and knew the preparation process and where the beverages originated from around the world. I can't remember how I heard about Sweetwater's Coffee, but when I saw they were across the street from one of my work campuses, I immediately stopped in and had to check them out. I've heard nothing but good things about them, and was eager to see if they lived up to all the hype. As a daily coffee drinker I've learned that everyone takes it a different way. I'm generally a light brew lady with cream and sugar myself. When I walked in the place was huge with tons of seating and very aesthetically pleasing. Plenty of room to move about and I loved it. They have a great menu and can make you a multitude of different drinks. I didn't feel like anything fancy, so I went with their light roast (breakfast blend?) to start my day off right. There was two girls (as there usually is) working behind the counter and they got to it right away. Within a few minutes my coffee was ready and I put in the sugar myself along with the cream. My only thing is, and again, this is my preference, I like flavored creamer. It's what I drink at home and like to have it out when possible. While their cream here is fresh, it's standard no flavor creamer. They have a ton of different sugar options which was nice to see. Overall, the coffee here is fabulous and I'd frequent here as much as possible if it was closer to me. Whoever invented and opened Sweetwaters did it right. The food here is soft and warm and smooth!!! Full of flavor! The presentation of everything is so perfect. The baristas really care about you having the best experience. Now about the drinks, EVERYTHING ON THAT MENU IS TOOOOO BOMB. I've tried 10 of their drinks so far and I was in love with every single one. They all have their own story and body. The aroma, the taste, the color, everything about these beverages are something you need to try! They also have a reward system! About the decor, there is an art gallery hanging in the walls and all the art is locally made by our local artist and is FOR SALE!!! Everything about the Coffee, Tea, and pastries are exquisite. COME HERE TO STUDY or for a meeting! It's right by Macomb community college so it's perfect for students and there's plenty of parking space. This tea house is extremely clean. I have had three days of pampering and I certainly am not complaining. In between appointments, I had an hour to kill. So I decided to grab a coffee. There are a few Sweetwater's around so I was happy to try it. I was also starving so I grabbed a biscuit breakfast sandwich. I really hate using calories on fancy coffee, but hey, I am technically on vacation so these calories don't count right? I got a caramel creme. And yeah.... 380 calories ! Oh well. This is a really cute spot and conveniently located across from Macomb Community College center campus. There were. Lot of students in there studying away and it made me miss my college and grad school days... But only for a minute. Haha. The coffee was amazing (I don't think that was considered coffee. But it had something with coffee in it so ... It's coffee...) And the biscuit was surprisingly delicious. I gobbled it up and was off to my next appointment. I would definitely recommend this place but it is a chain. I prefer more of a unique and warm setting in a coffeehouse. So it just depends on your personal preference. read more

I absolutely LOVED Sweetwaters!! I've tried 10 things on their menu and I'd be lying if I said I didn't love all of them. I'm normally not a huge cold brew person, but the dreamy cold brew is literally still on my mind right now. Not to mention, I loved their matcha latte. It was not too bitter like matcha can be but it was also not overly sweet, making it really a perfect pick-me-up drink. I would definitely go back here to sit and do some work, catch up with friends, or even grab a drink to go. Great place overall!! read more

We've gone through their drive through a few times and we really like the friendly service and of course their coffee. Cafe Mocha's are our go to drinks and they really are the best, with just the right mix of ingredients. We haven't been inside yet, so this review is short but sweet. i recently left a google review about how the strawberry matcha ruined my day. because it did. I love matcha and I have it quite often, I even love getting it at a different location but today I went the the Clinton township one and I was given a strawberry matcha that was literally poop colored and people that drink matcha know what color it's supposed to be. it tasted like water with a hint of strawberry's. it congealed with the whipped cream and I couldn't even drink it. and the owner had the nerve to respond saying "matcha isn't for everyone" very condescending and rude and really turned me off to that location which really sucks. read more

What an amazing coffee shop! So many fun, delicious drink options to try. My favorites are the chai latte, matcha latte, dreamy cold brew, and the napali brew, but I would recommend almost anything on the menu. The staff is friendly, and the decor is amazing. The best neighborhood coffee & tea shop. They have a unique menu and lots of drinks to try. My favorite is definitely the cold brew and the chicory coffee. I am more a coffee lover than tea but if you like tea they have a yummy lemon ginger tea. The place is decorated with local artists work that is available for purchase which I think is pretty cool. They offer some delicious sandwiches and pastries. They also try to source locally when possible. I have driven by many times and this was my first visit but definitely not my last. read more

Plenty of space inside this newer location to sit and study or work or just hang out (and safely social distance in Today's time). My husband got the vanilla cappuccino (my husband said meh) and I got the Vietnamese coffee at lait (I loved this) . We also got the brownie warmed up and it was perfect to go with our coffee. The people are nice enough. But the service is painfully slow even when you are the only person there. I've gone to this location several times and have always had issues ordering a large drink. A few times I go they give me a really big drink. Other times the large is significantly smaller. inconsistent and it should be rectified somehow. A little bummed out. I can't get the bigger size because it seems awfully expensive for the size that I get. I gave it a couple college tries but I don't think I will be returning to this location. read more

You know. We come here a lot. We wait a long time, ALWAYS in the drive thru. We have actually wanted coffee and for-go coming here and do Starbucks instead bc we don't know if it will take 15 or 20 mins to grab a couple coffees. Here's the kicker, we are never in a line! It takes that long if you are the only person in the line. I repeat, it takes that long if you are the only person in the line. It's a good day if it takes 10 mins. It's never been under 10 mins. Ever. I just don't think it should take that long to make a latte thru a drive thru. I've gotten the breakfast croissant, and the filling can be majorly subpar. Like nothing inside. That's why I stopped getting them. You also never know if your latte is going to be enough of the flavor you asked for. Quality control? Check this. Then to make matters even more uncomfortable. We always use card and then tip cash in a big bulk when we have cash on hand. I just finished paying and received a drink and then was asked by another employee aggressively if I wanted to leave a tip on the card. I was told they can't do that a long time ago. It almost made me want to say no with her tone alone. This place needs proper management.... especially for 12 dollars worth of two coffees BEFORE tip. Handle this. Going to find a new coffee place. Only reason for 3 stars is the taste of SOME of the coffees, hit or miss, and there are usually some nice people who work here who are friendly. read more
