I had heard an advertisement saying Swenson's was the best burger in Ohio so since I was in the Avon area today I decided to try it.I ordered the galley burger, milkshake and fried mushrooms. Just like Goldilocks and the three bears, the mushrooms were terribly salty, the burger was in need of some salt- very bland and tasteless, but the milkshake was ok. I won't be going back...honestly I can't understand people who gave it 5 star teviews. I can't say enough good about Swensons and this location especially. Of my 3 times here, I've had nothing but exceptional service, even on days when it appears they could be understaffed. When you see the waitresses running from car to car to prevent any one from waiting, that is how you know they are hardworking. The Galley Boy remains my go to choice here. My mother and daughter stopped by here for lunch as we had never tried it before and it was great! We got the Walley Burgers and they were tasty and not too filling where you felt you couldn't move afterwards. We also had onion rings and a root beer float and all of it was hot and tasty. The service was fast and we left a good tip. Overall a better experience than some of the bigger chain restaurants. read more

For fast food this place has not disappointed each time we've been here. We normally order off menu. I'll ask for a side grilled chicken breast and a side of egg salad and they have no issues making the changes. The grilled chicken is surprisingly juicy and well seasoned. The egg salad is good too. The French fries and potato puffs aka tater tots are delicious, not too greasy which is a plus when eating in your car. The "car hops/waiters" are always running back and forth to take your order and help you if you have any questions. They have a smile on their face and are extremely polite. read more

Just OK the delivered food wasn't hot. Burger was dry and sauce was strange. The tater tots were yummy but cold. Ranch dressing for dipping wasn't good, bottled type flavor. Brownie was pre-packaged and again dry and crumbly. Perhaps in-person is the way to enjoy Swensons. read more

It was a pleasant experience. As I pulled up, the server was ready and came to take my order. The fish sandwich was delish! The fish was flaky and moist as it should be. The past few burgers I've ordered to go have been raw inside. I ended up having to throw out 3 double burgers. Just a waste of my money

This is my first visit at this location, I might have caught them at a bad time but my fish sandwich was over cooked that , I ordered . I ate it anyway very nice courteous staff but that grease needs filtered more often . I could taste that it needed filtered , obviously from the weekend rush being it was Saturday. The staff is super nice and helpful, and efficient. I prefer the Broadview location. I will definitely try again another time I'm sure I will give em a 5 star review they haven't been opened long they have to work the kinks out. Parking lot and grounds very clean and receptacles we're not overflowing considering this outside operation. Great place try it folks! read more

We have visited Swensons for over 15 years in Akron. We were so excited when North Olmsted and Avon were opening as we are very Close to both locations. I'm so sad to report that the burgers are just not the same as they are in Akron. I have been back several times with the same result. The burger seem very dry and very little sauce on the galley boys and they were cold, cheese seems sparse too :(. I am hoping things change soon as the consumer has no idea what they're missing. If I'm going to waste the calories I'm going to have to drive to Akron!!! read more

Absolutely horrible! Shame on the management that should have closed the place instead of serving a hot dog on a hamburger bun and a double cheeseburger on no bun. No these weren't mistakes. They deliberately did this and basically laughed and said oh we're out of buns but didn't tell us until we asked where the hot dog was. they had no intention of telling us that and they also didn't tell us we wouldn't get our shakes because they were out of base. Wasn't until we asked where they were did they tell us. Who operates a business like this??? Never ever again will we go there as they tried to pull a fast one on us. Shame on you Avon Swenson! An amazing CarHop was running flat out all by herself taking orders and delivering food, and doing it with a smile. And it was hot, it hadn't just sat around! I hope she's paid what she's worth, but I know that isn't so. But if you go to the Swensons in Avon, she deserves the biggest tip you can spare! The fries and onion rings were hot and delicious. I haven't eaten the cheeseburger yet because I want to savor it, and I try not to eat the fries on the way home but I couldn't resist. At the risk of angering a populace mass of an entire region, I have to be the devils advocate here. The service and experience is pretty cool. And my wife says the onion rings are some of the best. But I have to wonder what it is about the burgers that keep people coming back. Mine was tasteless, flavorless and despite being drenched in onions and mustard, that couldn't be tasted either. The wifey got a burger with Cajun seasonings because the last time she ate here had the same experience I had and thought she better spice it up a little, and still didn't taste a thing much less Cajun spices. So I wonder what makes people drive past a flipside or a shake shack or even a Red Robin to get this. I have had a lot of burgers from all over, and this one just doesn't measure up. We decided to give Swensons a try. The servers come out to your car when you pull in & ask if you e been there before . They give you a menu & tell you to turn your headlights on when you're ready to order. They bring your food out on a tray if you want to stay & eat in your car. Otherwise, they put it in s bag. I ordered s double cheeseburger & some type of potatoe wedge with jalapeños & cheese in them. My hubby got the galley boy & breaded mushrooms. The food was definitely hot & fresh. I really enjoy the Galley boy. The sauces with the sweet bun are a great combination. I tried the regular burgers and they are not as good as the galley boy. The potato teasers are pretty good as well. The coney dog is pretty good when I am in the mood for one. The California drink is also a good option. The service is fast as they run to your car. They are definitely more expensive than most burger places and wish they gave coupons once in a while but I definitely will return. read more

This was my first ever visit to a Swenson's. I ordered a galley boy since it's their signature burger. The meat, cheese, and bun were good, but the sauces were far to sweet for my palate. If I go again, I'll just stick to a regular cheeseburger. I also ordered the potato teezers which sounded good, but unfortunately I don't think I got any, because I think they messed up my order and gave me tater tots instead. I tasted no jalapeño or cheese in them and just thought they were bland, but then I double checked the menu and saw that they have "potato puffs" which is what I assume they gave me instead. It was so busy, the service was slow, and I found the drive-in ordering to be inefficient and annoying, so I didn't bother complaining about the mix up, but I really wish I could have tried the teezers as they sound really good. I may give it another try when they open one closer to me in Willoughby, but overall, I don't think it lived up to all the hype. read more

This place has amazing grilled cheese, one of the only things I like on the menu. But recently I ordered some nuggets and tomato soup with my food. I asked to take the tomato soup off my order and instead they took the nuggets off and gave me tomato soup. No problem, I came back and asked for my nuggets back. The manager was very polite and respectful but the young worker who took my order seemed very angry that I came back. It made me scared to come back because I might come across this kid again and he'll be rude to me. But the manager took is nicely and gave me my money back for the soup. read more
