TL;DR: zero communication as it took 10 days to replace a MacBook battery. As much as I hesitated posting this and want to support small businesses, they have cost me some of mine and I am appalled at how I was treated. This is my personal experience and I still believe that this is a probably reliable business for phone-related repairs. Context: I do wedding photography. My laptop was draining battery too quickly so I reached out through Yelp to ask for a quote and time estimate. Was told $169 for a battery change within 1-2 days. Stopped by late afternoon Thursday 9/1/22 before Labor Day and they told me that it was normal that a MacBook Pro 2019 drained in a matter of a couple hours because I used Lightroom on it. While we chat, the open laptop (with no app running) drops 3% in battery...After insisting that I believe there is an actual issue, they said they would test the battery and call me by Saturday to let me know if it needs changing. If it did, they would have to order it as they just used their last one; would be 1-2 days. Perfect timing as I'm out of town until 9/5/22 (the whole point of dropping off my laptop then!!!) Fast forward Tuesday 9/6/22, no call. I assume it could be because of the extended weekend and reach out, they tell me they're still testing the battery, that it will be another 1-2 days and they would call me when ready. Fast forward to Thursday 9/8/22, no call. I pick up the phone and am told they are still waiting on the battery and it would get there by Friday so my laptop would be ready by Saturday morning. I had to ask multiple times whether they had even confirmed that the battery was defective. They kept saying that they needed the new battery to test. I'm a bit surprised that a phone/laptop repair business does not have a ballpark idea of how long a MacBook battery should last...Also, why not order the batter the week before then? But okay. Fast forward to Saturday afternoon 9/10/22, no call. At this point it has been over a week and I'm behind on editing pictures for my clients. I call and am told the person who changes battery doesn't work on weekend. Extremely annoyed, I explain the situation and my disappointment and the battery is miraculously ready Sunday 9/11/22 with a final cost of $179 (VS $169 quoted), not even a discount for the trouble. My laptop battery is better but it started periodically freezing and although there's a 3 months warranty, I unfortunately cannot afford to be without it for another week and having to jump through hoops to be updated. This shop is excellent! Had a busted front glass and the iPhone 11 became inoperative, and found this shop on Yelp (among 5 other ones). Got a quote quickly, fair/best price and good location (near my house/Costco/Home Depot), and those were the reasons for my business. Dropped phone off, got a promise "done in 30 min". Went to HD to get a new items, came back and it was done within the time promised. The phone looks new and functions as new. They loaded up some generic Apple apps to make sure everything is working properly. The good tech also installed a screen protector with no charge. The repair shop that has fixed this before for a broken home button, took out and didn't replace the heat shield. I was able to find and buy that part, but the screws were gone too. I stopped by this place to get a quote for a repair on a shattered iPad screen. The price was quite reasonable for the screen replacement and also a screen protector, so I've gone ahead with the repair. Kids are happy that their iPad is fully functional again. The following day I brought in a second damaged iPad. However, due to the age of the device, they were very honest that the repair of $200+ is more than what it's worth. Super disappointed. I brought in my computer because it wasn't turning on. I was told I needed to pay $30 for diagnostic testing. They said I could apply the $30 to whatever work needs to be done. I waited a week to hear back from them because the person who does the testing was out of town and then they tell me that they don't have access to the parts to fix my computer! That seems odd to me that they would have taken the computer knowing they don't have access to the parts! Now I just wasted money and time and I still have a broken computer. I received an email from Leo stating the motherboard shorted and a price estimate and about how long it would take. He was the most knowledgeable, professional and fairly priced. I'm very glad that I found this business. I brought in some PCBs from an electronic GoTo mount for a Meade LX200 built in 1996 and they were able to easily replace some capacitors that were turning faulty. They have a handy TV in the waiting room where you can watch them working on your electronics! Very cool. I feel so much better that my old yet expensive telescope is ready for another 25+ years of reliable astronomy! The quote for the work was very reasonable and they included all work in the price. Swift repairs broke my phone and now I have to buy a new one. I went to Swift repairs in October for the first time as I was referred there by AT&T. They replaced my screen and not even a week later it started glitching and not working. I went back, got it replaced and it was fixed. I had no problems since then until my screen had broke again a few weeks ago. I went back and they fixed it. Not even two weeks pass by and my screen had completely glitched to where I could not even log into my phone because it just kept flashing a black and grey screen. This would go on for hours, go back to normal and then eventually never went back to normal. I went today to get it fixed again and now my phone is completely broken. They said they replaced the screen and now it wont charge without overheating to the point where it doesn't work and the battery will only charge to 10% and will go down in percentage while still charging. I now have to get a new phone because it will not charge and stop overheating Everything is still glitching and will not work. read more
