Initially, when I reached out (a week in advance of needing the clean), the team seemed responsive and professional - sending confirmation the next day, and following up multiple times over the week to verify the service window. At the time I didn't notice the lack of questioning about: how many rooms I needed carpet cleaning for, the general size of the rooms, what the state of the carpets were, or what my budget was. They also did not give any advance indication of their price range. And, they never shared whether they would call or text in advance when a tech was on their way to us (for the record, they do, and that would have given us 5 hours back to our day had we known.) They have fantastic reviews, and appear to do great work, and I haven't needed carpet cleaning in quite some time, so I assumed they needed to get the dimensions and assess in person (this was verbally confirmed by the tech when they arrived - and the tech was very kind, thorough, and tried his best -- but we'll get back to that in a minute). Our service window confirmed via text and phone call at least three times, including the day before the planned service by the schedulers was 2-6. By 5:30, I had not received any indication of whether our service was going forward. I called to check in, knowing we had 30 minutes left in the window, but just wanting to verify the plan. Only then was I told the service was running late, now estimated to be a 6:30 arrival because "the property before you keeps requesting add ons." We opted to continue forward, now being told for the first time we would get a call when they were on the way. At this point, I was mildly frustrated, but understood work can run late. However, I was also confused why this prior property was not asked to schedule a follow up service rather than pushing everyone else back. By 6:25, we had not received a call, and I had a message drafted to follow up when I DID receive a call. A call to let me know the tech was on the way - but would be about 35-40 minutes. At this time, we had been waiting for 4.5 hours, having not been told we would have a 30 minute heads up to be back, and taking valuable time away from work, and additional necessary tasks. They offered to reschedule, but could not guarantee we would be first on the list, and leaving us to wonder if we would be waiting for 5 hours again. We proceeded, having asked how long the service would take - it was estimated to be an hour and we should be done by 8-8:30. This was the first time through all interactions I was asked how many rooms would be serviced. I expressed concern for the timeline, and disappointment at the lack of communication on the actual service date. No apology was offered, no solution other than continuing to wait, or to reschedule for another window, being offered. When he arrived, the tech was kind, fast, and professional. He answered my questions, and assisted me in looking at several service combinations. He was also able to verify that their policy for pricing is to evaluate the floors in person, and get the exact dimensions. Which is understandable, but would have been appreciated in advance. The first quote we were given, as was shared by another reviewer previously, was over $800 for 3 rooms with their closets, and 2, very short, hallways. One room has significant pet smells, but the rest do not. There was no furniture nor items to be moved, nor maneuvered around. The second quote, with highest tier treatments removed was still above $600. When I pushed for standard treatments, we were quoted around $400. I shared that was well above the cost I had anticipated, and was asked my budget. I said $300 max (which is still above average), and was eventually quoted $375, I asked to remove another option and it was reduced to $348. I asked if there were any coupons or specials, and THEN was informed of an option that would be close to that $350 including after environmental fees (not included in the original quotes). And finally, I inquired if it would be possible to do just an incredibly standard steam clean for the majority of the spaces, and only focusing on the more intense treatments for the one room that needed them. I was told that was not an option. Unfortunately, we were not able to proceed with the service. When I looked at our quote page, it was indicated we were originally scheduled to be seen at 4pm, and we did not have a tech until after 7. TL;DR we waited 5 hours for a tech to arrive, just to be given an aggregious quote of over $800, magically reduced to $348, and with poor communication starting when it mattered most.

We called around to a few places and we chose clean and dry because they had great reviews, we wanted to support a local business, and they offered a military discount. Even with the discount, they were a little more than some of their competitors, but based on everything else we decided to give them a chance. I called and got a quote from Kathy (who is extremely nice and helpful). When I called back to schedule, there was some confusion on the original quote not including a hallway we had discussed so she said she would include the hallway at no cost. The owner, Stacy, showed up to our home, and as we were doing the walkthrough I mentioned the hallway and confusion. He said that he heard the phone calls, agreed they were confusing, and said it's normally 30 for the hallway but he would do it for free if we wanted him to. I agreed since that was what we were quoted, and he said, "You know what, I don't want to do any of it." When I asked what he meant, he said he doesn't work for free and said he was leaving. I was confused since he offered to do it for free, but he walked out. I don't know if he was in a bad mood already, but that is terrible customer service and he was extremely rude to my wife and I. There were so many other ways to handle the situation. My wife and I had moved all of our stuff out of the rooms and had our kids sleep downstairs so he would have plenty of room to work and since we wouldn't be able to access the rooms until they dried. Had he tried to talk to me about it we probably could have up with a solution, but he refused to do anything at that point. I called Kathy back and she said she would try to figure out what was going on, but I never heard anything back. I would recommend finding someone else to clean your carpets.

My miracle was All Metro Carpet Cleaning. You see... a few years ago in the middle of a frantic house buying drama, I hired a service to clean the carpets in my soon-to-be house. It didn't go well. It didn't go well at all. (Go read the Yelp review. You'll know which one it is.) Fast forward to the delightful gentlemen who arrived on my porch today. Not only were they professional, friendly and kind, but they were generous with their attention to detail and attention to engaging conversation. We even got to swap stories as fellow real estate folks! As Justin, the hard-working technician (and owner) worked his wizardry on my old, greyed-out carpets, I was amazed at just how clean they became. It was like an informercial happening right in front of my eyes. If Billy Mays was still alive, he'd surely shed a tear. All Metro got my carpet (and this is old, contractor-grade, non-impressive carpet) the cleanest I've ever seen in the three years I've owned it. AND THEY WERE SO NICE. Like, I want to invite Justin and his assistant (his dad, who was filling in for the day for a staffing issue -- how sweet is that??) over for dinner and feed them pies and send them home with Tupperwares of leftovers because, holy cow, these guys deserve to be spoiled. I was *so* inspired by their hard work that I cleaned the kitchen. To put this in a bit of perspective -- the previous tenants were five male college students. No one wants to clean that kitchen! Or any part of that house. But ALL METRO DID. They cleaned those floors! Then I cleaned the kitchen! Then angels heralded! I plan to call them Monday to price out their grout cleaning service, because they do that, too. And I bet you could serve pies off that post-All Metro floor. If you or anyone you know need carpets, tile or upholstery super cleaned for a super fair price by a super great company, don't hesitate to hire All Metro Carpet Cleaning.

It's a Friday afternoon, suspicious, but let it go. Two weeks later, same tech, same last second cancellation. I called them manager, Barbara, and was upset. She was pleasant and understanding. Told her I'm now in a time crunch and have taken off work twice for this as they no longer have weekend appointments. Told her I wanted someone here Saturday. Given the circumstances, I expected them to make an exception, and a crew to be here Saturday. I'm not asking them to open AT&T stadium for me to just get a pretzel and hot dog. Just get a crew out here, complete service, and I'll pay and tip like always. Everyone wins at the end of the day. But no, a hard "We're closed on Saturday. Sorry. We can get you in early during the week?" I'm not taking any additional time off. Maybe I'm wrong here, but this seems like a slam dunk of an easy way to get a previous customer taken care of. But to be dismissed so easily, has left a sour taste in my mouth. even after positive transactions in the past. Found a very helpful gentleman that was straightforward and got here quickly, on a Saturday. Do with that info as you will. They'll probably do a decent job so long as they show up and you don't schedule on Friday afternoon.
