I feel like they really truly care about their customers and have no ego or attitude like some other places. They always go above and beyond and I don't even have to think twice about bringing my car in. I've had them fix multiple things on my car from alignment to shocks to breaks. The Good - Cook said the nail didn't fully puncture the tire and it didn't need to be replaced. So I appreciate the honesty for this part. 2. The Bad - Replacement of the front brakes. After a few months the brakes were still squeaking and I called to mention this and they said to drive the car longer and it will stop. A year later and they still squeak. I took the car to a mechanic for in inspection and was told that Cook used Oreilly brakes and did not use OEM BWM brakes. Cook did not offer it as an option. It is a 2022 BMW and the brakes the used are unsatisfactory. Had I known they would not use original parts or offer it, I would have had this service done elsewhere. I should have went to a BMW specialized mechanic.

Then, while they were opening my air filter housing to replace the air filter, they busted it.( check the pictures. ). Then at the very same time they yanked on the air manifold hose that's connected to it so hard that it ripped open! At first, they lied right to my face and said that they did not do it and that they never even opened my air filter housing even though I paid them to change the air filter. So I called corporate in front of the manager at the Valvoline and told them that I had paid for an oil change and an air filter change, and this manager just told me that they never even opened up my air filter housing to change it but they took my money anyway. Once I had corporate on the phone, the manager at Valvoline admitted that they had damaged both components of the air filter-housing, and the hose. Corporate said all that they could do is refund the $50 for the air filter and then offered me two free oil changes. But I'm still left with having to repair the $800 worth of damage that they caused. I'll never go to another Valvoline again.EVER!!!! - TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! LIARS/ THIEVES/ POOR MECHANICS/ TERRIBLE CORPORATE STRUCTURE. IF I COULD GIVE VALVOLINE ZERO STARS I WOULD.

Greg had his mechanic install the new lug nuts that I already had, at no additional cost. The facility has limited areas to wait, but there is a nearby coffee shop within a short walking distance. Greg was personable, smart, a great listener, efficient, professional, & made recommendations to save me money on future car repairs. Greg has earned my trust. I was able to make the trip but once I hit a LA every time I hit the break a scraping noise would happen. i came in about a tire and explain what was going on with the break. Andy gave me the bad news easy that the front left brake caliper had become dislodged because a bracket bolt was missing, which was causing the abnormal noise. Well i'm not very knowledgeable about cars, so it meant a lot that he showed me what was happening and walked me through the repairs. He literally made a drawing for me as I'm a visual learner. The whole experience could have been really stressful, but Andy was patient, transparent, and made me feel like my car was in good hands. I'm really thankful they caught the issue when they did. I 100% absolutely recommend Andy and this Big O Tires location. They got you!

In connection with a planned 2000 mile trip, I took the SUV to my long-time mechanic, Ise Automotive, in Los Feliz. When I picked up the car, I was told that there was something "odd" about the Michelin tires on the vehicle and that I should have them checked out by a tire expert. He recommended American Tire Centers, with whom he'd done business for decades. I was skeptical, as I'd put very few miles on the tires, but nevertheless called American to determine when I might have them inspected. Vahe ("Vic") said I could bring in the vehicle the same afternoon. When I arrived, the lot was filled with cars under some stage of repair or replacement. Nevertheless, Vic turned immediately to examining my Michelin tires. To my untutored eye, they looked pristine. However, after completing his inspection, Vic said that due to their age, the rubber was separating from the material beneath. This, he told me, is why tire warranties are valid for a maximum number of Miles (usually 50,000) OR time period (in this case, five years). It was clear I was going to have to replace the tires. The question, then, was "With what?" At the age of 80, I am a "careful" consumer. When I'm teeing up to buy a product or to commission a service, I do my homework. In this case, however, it had largely been done for me. Paired with a string of online recommendations attesting to the honesty of the shop, I also had absolute confidence in my mechanic of several decades, who had sent me to Vic with his endorsement. I purchased a set of four new Michelins. Vic said he'd do an alignment only if it were necessary. The next morning (less than 24 hours after I'd been advised by my mechanic to have an expert inspect the tires), the car was ready for pickup. Vic told me to bring it back for inspection when I returned from my trip. Conclusion: I could not have been happier or more impressed with the treatment accorded me by Vic and his colleagues. They were professional, prompt and, I believe, honest in their pricing. Based upon my experience, I've no hesitancy in recommending them without reservation.

It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

When I arrived, another women drove up without an appointment and she had to wait behind me & another women with an appointment. The owner goes by appointment first & then first come, first serve. The total cost of the Smog check was $88. Pretty expensive but equivalent to other locations on the west side, I'd say. The owner did ask if I had my renewal slip that I got in the mail to help speed up the process, so bring it if you have it handy otherwise it's not a big deal if you don't have it. This is my new spot for getting smog tests.
