His had crispy onions and pepper Jack cheese. The brisket was so tender and flavorful! The mac n cheese as well as the potato salad were equally good. We also shared a cornbread. For the price they should include 2 pieces of cornbread, but it was still worth it. They don't skimp out on the meat, and my dad and I could barely finish the 3 meat plate and half slab of ribs! Our favorite was the ribs by far; they're super flavorful and tender with a little bite (just how we like it!). Mixed feelings for my first time eating at Swine Dwining. Things were just so so.. not terrible but definitely not great. Major issue I had was with the brisket, it's a up charge but literally every piece they gave me half of it was pure fat. My dogs got to enjoy it but I paid for my meal, not there's. The brisket I could eat was pretty good. I just was disappointed at the huge chunks of fat that literally was half of every price. The sausage was pretty good, and I do like the mild sauce. A lot of places mess up barbecue sauce and I thought the mild was tasty. For sides I got the baked beans, and brisket mac. The baked beans were WAY too sweet. I don't think I've ever had that complaint about beans before, but they were so sweet I didn't even want to eat them. They desperately need something savory or less sweetness added. It's too much. The brisket mac was okay but it also was not seasoned, it was begging for simple salt and pepper. I tried the apple crisp for dessert and it was good, a bit dry but it was delivery and probably had been sitting awhile. My husband and I have been visiting Swine Dining for years now (as it's very close to our house). It's a pretty small menu of meat and sides, but if you find something you like there, you will be hooked! The interior is pretty basic with concrete-like floor, brick red colored walls, and a handful of wood/black metal tables and chairs. The menu is on posters up on the wall as you walk in, and you order at the front and they bring your food out to your table. You can't go wrong with any meat here, so just choose what sounds good to you. I get the "All in the Pool" sandwich, which is a combination of pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked sausage. Their high quality meats taste good all together, and especially with the sauces they provide on each table. I like the Mild BBQ, but if you're a heat person, you can get the hotter one. On a whim, I once ordered the Brisket Sandwich, and it did not hold up to the deliciousness of the All in the Pool version, but it was an okay second-place. We have also ordered the ribs before when they were available, and they literally fall right off the bone. You won't need a knife to hack at it, just a fork to pick the pieces off your plate. My kind of ribs! I'm a big believer that the drink you have with a meal can make or break the flavor palette. I mean McDonald's Coke, Chipotle Pibb, and at Swine Dining - it's their Strawberry Fanta! It goes so well with their food, you absolutely have to get it if you're a soda drinker (or skip it and have water, but you will be missing out!) The sides are also choice, with my favorites being the corn, beans, and mac and cheese: -Smoked Mac and Cheese: Cheddar, creamy, and smokiness added in there with perfect seasoning? Yum! If you're a mac and cheese lover, definitely give Swine Dining's version a try. -Cream Cheese (Jalapeño) Corn: This isn't always on their menu, so if it is definitely grab it! It has a little kick with the jalapeño, but the cream cheese cools it off a bit and makes it delicious. -Smoked Beans: I am a big baked bean lover, and these are great. The beans themselves are a little smoky, but there's a sweet touch because they add slices of cinnamon apples to the mixture. So tasty! And they have a few desserts to pick from too, if you're wanting a sweet treat after all that meat. We've had the Bread Pudding and the Apple Crisp. -Bread Pudding: This tastes more like a coffee cake than a bread pudding. I'm not complaining because I love coffee cake, but was expecting more of a bread pudding style. -Apple Crisp: My husbands favorite thing is apple, so he has had this a few times and is a fan. It's kind of a crumble of oatmeal like pie bits mixed in with sweet cinnamony baked apples. I'd say Swine Dining is a good choice for BBQ in Omaha, and it definitely will not break the bank. Oh how I have missed good barbecue. Texas bbq, the gold standard, is everything. Since moving to Omaha I have been on a constant search for damn good barbecue. Swine dining was the next stop in my search. This was a to-go order so will only speak on the food. I started eating and I couldn't stop. I DEMOLISHED this all! Every bite was just pure goodness. I had an AMAZING sandwich the other day. Jalapeño popper. Delicious smoky tender beef mixed with cream cheese and jalapeños. Was spicier than I expected, at some places "jalapeño" is almost synonymous with "mild". This sandwich had a substantial kick to it, but the flavor of the meat wasn't hidden by it. They also give you a little dish (if you ask) of pickle chips, diced onions, and candied jalapeños. Definitely get this. I took a picture when I first got my food, and I'm almost embarrassed to post it because it makes the sandwich look boring - and the sandwich is definitely not boring! But it does show the pickles etc. The only bad thing that I have to say about the sandwich is that it's a "special" item and is not available every day. I honestly think I will contact the company to say how much I loved it. Outside of the food, I am not sure why they insist on serving everything as a sandwich. They do offer to keep the bread and give you the same serving size though. Why don't they have a single meat tray or a 2 meat tray? If you want pork and brisket, you have to order 2 different sandwiches. The burnt ends are about the best thing on the menu on the days they have them. This was my first visit to Swine Dining near Menards off of 120th and Dodge. There is plenty of parking. The place appeared clean until you sat down and realized no one was wiping down tables from past customers as new people were being seated. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with fries and baked beans. As you can tell from the photo, they didn't give a serving of fries, perhaps a half serving. I have always passed by this place and today we finally decided to try it! This is one of the best BBQ dishes I've had in Omaha! Quality tender meat! You know it's good because it doesn't even need sauce! Great Smokey flavor that is not dry at all. The potato salad was good, not too many onions, and the smoked Mac and cheese was good as well. Gah, it's hard to write this review because I'm in the throes of enjoying these fantastic burnt ends. Everything here is spectacularly good from the ribs to the pulled pork to their barbecue sauce to the sides. They often have wagyu on special, usually only a dollar or two more than the regular beef and worth it every time. Decided to go here for lunch because I've heard a lot of great things about it. Walked in, saw a bunch of people, and the large boards with menu items. Also saw pieces of differently colored paper. Took me a while to realize each paper has different things on them (not the same as on the menu boards). You have to figure out with items you want and find the correct paper to fill out; there's no explanation as to which paper has which items. The instructions just say fill a paper out. So on to the food. I got the "All in the Pool" which is a combination of their Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, and Smoked Sausage all mixed together on one sandwich. I will say there was a smokey taste to the meats, but it wasn't that good. The brisket and pulled pork were dry and lacked in the flavor department. The sausages were sliced and chopped very thin and small. I had to do drown the sandwich in the mild and hot sauce. The corn bread was very dry and had less taste than the sandwich. I took one bite and it just made my mouth super dry and brushed off any flavor from the sandwich I had. But if you like dense, dry, not sweet, cornbread you might like this one. Sadly the french fries were my favorite thing about the experience at Swine Dining BBQ off of Dodge. And the fries are only so so. I would not come here for fries if I were in the mood for some. Overall, I was really let down by this place that so many hold in high regard. As my friend and I were cleaning up or table, getting ready to leave, there was an employee who offered to take our trash and throw it away, so that's a plus. But if you go to a barbecue place, you'd expect good barbecue over all else. Upon arrival, we were not greeted or asked if we had any questions or even directed to how they operate. There's a large piece of wall that has different menu items posted; some in chalk board and some on printer paper which was confusing. We stood at the entryway for probably 5 minutes trying to figure out their system and finally decided on what to order only to get to the register and be told they were out of what we wanted. The employee didn't make any suggestions or any sort of conversation. It was just frustrating and pretty off putting. We got our number and went to sit outside. I got the rib meat sandwich with two sides; smoked Mac n cheese and "corn of the day". The meat was tasty but reminiscent of beef jerky. We got the spicy bbq sauce and that was tasty. The corn was obviously cooked all day so kind of rubbery and the Mac n cheese wasn't anything impressive. My husband got brisket and coleslaw. It didn't indicate it was a sandwich on the menu board, like mind did, but his came with a bun. The brisket was moist and flavorful and didn't need any sauce. The coleslaw was pretty typical. Like food it starts with obsession. Obsession to find exactly what you want and right now. Tonight it was BBQ and this place came at a recommendation from my former boss, Kelvin. We were going elsewhere but I know recommendations from the big guy never fail my bf and me when it comes to date night and places to go. The place is immaculately cleaned and tended to frequently. The space may be small but it's filled with the undeniable savory smoke that can get one's appetite rolling. The service was fast, friendly, and amazing especially the young lady working the register. We came in for the pig pen since we could get our three favorite meats: ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. It was worth the wait for the ribs as they didn't know how many they would have left at the end of the night but we were met with giant, tender, perfect mix of fat and meat ribs! The same could be same for the thickly sliced brisket and the perfectly pulled pork. All juicy, all balanced, all ended up on my plate with the spicy bbq sauce! And a testament to their skill is the wonderful pink smoke ring around the meat. We got the side of of smoked Mac and cheese and Cajun French fries and let me tell you, that Mac made me want to slap the table it was so damn good! We paid the $47.99 plus tip for this wonderful feast that could easily feed 3 people and let me tell you: it was worth ever penny!
