This is the second year that the Orange County Historical Society has used Alta Vista Country…read moreClub's banquet facilities for our Annual Dinner, and once again, we could not have been more pleased. Although we typically try to find a "historic" venue for our dinners and presentations, we honestly could not have found a better location for this event. The sales and event team, Shanna Chambers and Liz Garcia, were incredible to work with. Not only did they provide us with a discount as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, but they also generously contributed a wonderful donation to our silent auction. They were friendly, responsive, patient with our questions and last-minute changes, and truly a joy to work with. There were never any worries--Shanna and Liz were on it! The venue space was perfect. It easily accommodated our attendance with an excellent table setup, along with space for our silent auction, book signing table, and enough room at each table for everyone to be comfortable. They even helped us find a small area for props so we could create a photo area. Bravo! When we first approached Alta Vista last year, we assumed that, given our budget, we would end up with the typical "rubber chicken" banquet meal. Instead, Alta Vista surprised us with the best food we have had at any of our venues. And there was plenty of it--in fact, almost too much! There was enough for everyone to go back for seconds, and the two-sided buffet kept the line moving so even the back tables did not have to wait long. Guests also appreciated that the buffet was self-serve, allowing them to choose their own portions. A definite win! Our banquet captain, Juan, was outstanding. We recognized him from last year, and just as before, he was always ready to help. This year, he quickly assisted us with a last-minute table need, guided the servers in a very professional manner, and made sure tables were cleared promptly. Please never quit, Juan! Between the wonderful staff, excellent food, comfortable venue, smooth setup, and free, plentiful parking, we knew we had another successful dinner at Alta Vista Country Club.
