Tons and tons of daily drink specials but MAAAAANNNNN I am here to talk about to food. This is just great food every time I've been here. Especially the pizza...a bit thinner pizza but puffs up to a great crust. Bartenders and staff are just great. This the carry over from the old location next to Westgate Mall. Jackie was a great owner and wouldn't hesitate to tell you the truth or that you were being an A-hole. Great memories and I've you can relate to this...you know. Popped in for a Philly cheesesteak and a brew. I was so disappointed in the quality of the food. Greasy, and lacking flavor. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and guess what? NO cheese on my sandwich! But, I paid extra to have mushrooms on my sandwich. Lol!l I have not eaten here for well over two years, now I know why. I'll not go back. They must have a new cook. So even though I have driven by this x number of times, I actually came across this place from an Uber Eats promotion! They have typical bar food but as I was opting for delivery, I went with a pizza. Let's see how it holds up to the One Bite tm* test... Immediately what caught my attention was the Meaty Margherita Pizza which is a traditional marg except with sausage and pepperoni. I don't want to complain (I love you Dana) because the pizza was still fine but it was lacking basil (gasp*)!! I reread the description like 4 times just to be sure but chopped basil is like one of two ingredients for a Margherita and maybe it was during peak hours or maybe a new chef but for me it just missed the mark. The crust, sauce, other toppings were great which really made me see the potential. The Swinging Door is a nice little dive bar located in Rocky River. It's a great place to grab a quick bite to eat and a few drinks to start a Friday night. Drinks and food are reasonably priced and service is great - specifically Morgan! A nice little menu hack Morgan showed me was that you can order is their chicken tenders, but tossed in your choice on wing sauce. Game changer. Other menu items I regularly order: chicken quesadilla and extra crispy chicken wings. There was plenty of social distancing, sanitizer, and protocols in place for COVID. read more

Love this place. Super laid back. I play whatever i want on the Juke (usually heavy) and no one says a word. Dortmunder drafts are $4.5 which is crazy good in itself. I'm told this place is 'woke af'. Not my thing but respecting others is and everyone there has respected me and I them. Had some decent conversations with other solo patrons and they have Keno. Bartenders are really cool and I actually look forward to chatting with them. The food is bar food and I haven't sampled much of it. read more

I have to preface this review with the fact that I love dive bars. It's on a small strip of businesses and there's a huge plaza down the street, so it doesn't appear Swinging Door gets the traffic it deserves. Zero problems my first visit. The food was super tasty, drinks were cheap, and it was a good vibe. The seats at the bar were almost completely filled with a couple booths also taken up on a Wednesday night. Patrons were all middle-aged to older. Definitely seemed like some regulars. We had a group of about ten people in their 20s and 30s and pushed some tables together. They were easily able to accommodate us. Two TVs were on behind the bar showing a baseball game but a few others were around the room and powered down. Touchtunes in the back of the place. A dart board was up front where some of our friends tried (and failed) to show off their skills. Food was awesome and had a huge portion sizes. My wrap came on a baking tray accompanied with a mound of fries. They had a list of 12 beers on draft and even more in cans or bottles. The best part was that they have pitchers as an option for drafts! Really brings me back to college. They have a mini pitcher and a regular-sized pitcher. Incredibly cheap for domestic beer. $6 for a full pitcher of light beer and $4 when an Indians game is on. I'll be back for sure. read more

When you're one of eight people in a bar, you'd expect that the bartender would make sure that your glass isn't sitting empty for 10 minutes. Our bartender Cara was not attentive. More attention was paid to getting her stocking done, chatting with a friend and checking her personal phone than ensuring that her regular customers were served. My girlfriend ordered hot garlic boneless wings over Uber eats. I kid you not when I say these were the most disgusting wings we've come across due to the sauce. They were tossed in hot sauce with huge chunks of raw garlic clove pressed into them. We had to scrape the cloves off to eat them and even then couldn't bare to keep at em. What it lacks in gritty panache and perfect wings it makes up for in pretty damn good bar food, friendly bartenders and still great wings. I go here after volleyball most Tuesdays. The girl who works the bar and the floor is awesome and they always have a good selection of beers. They have TV's ample for checking the score of the game but if your focus is whatever is on you might need to look elsewhere. I would say this place runs along the "dive" bar genre and I prefer it over many places in the same group. The reason I can't give it 5 stars yet is that I have yet to find my soul mate food item. It is true the tots are good but man cannot live on tots alone. I have had a burger I have had some apps but everything is just common dive bar fare. Second time coming to the swinging door and it was not a good experience. One of our to go meals was incorrect but luckily we caught it before leaving. This wasn't a big deal because they corrected it. Once we got home, it didn't get any better. One of our meals had a hair in it and our fries were very burnt.
