I have mixed reviews about this place, but mostly good. My son was involved in an accident (it was the other drivers fault) and the car had to be towed to Swinks till the Insurance adjuster took a look at it. Unfortunately it is a crappy insurance company (Infinity), they took forever to see the car and never called us and told us when they did. The car ended up staying there like 19 days and costing me $1025 to get my car back. Yikes. However at Swinks they were very friendly every time I needed to see the car or get something from it. Very polite, helpful and etc. just, expensive. So, I guess like everybody, they have their good days and bad days. BTW, still waiting to hear back from Infinity Insurance. Now there's a crappy bad business. read more

If I could give these people half a star I would. This is the absolute worse service I have ever gotten. My boyfriends car was towed, so we called them and they told us if we came before noon the next day it will be $200, and if we came after that there will be a $38 fee for a day holding. So please tell me why when we got there at 11:30 it was $278, the lady then processed to tell us that the computer doesn't even show that anyone called about the car and it was towed at 10 so we had to come before 10. Works customer service she was incredibly bitchy. I recommend going somewhere else else you like people being extremely rude to you who clearly don't know what they are doing. read more

This is a tough one I was brought up to him at mom and dad always having AAA so of course they know they always make sure that I had it and now that my dad passed away it's just my mom and myself and now I make sure my mom has it the driver was awesome the operator of swings was horrible she was very insistent almost to the point where she is I felt like I was bothering her or she needed to get you she need to get off the phone you could deliver busy but that's not the feeling that I want to feel when I'm stuck on the side of The freeway I had my 20 month old daughter with me so they didn't get there fast I have to give them that the driver was very courteous and I had a trailer on the back of my car overheated and we're going to the city dump and they wanted $165 to tow my trailer where we were already going to I think that's pretty unreasonable and we're already going there it's 14 miles $165 for 14 miles is in sane so I left my trailer on the side freeway left a letter for the highway patrol please not impound my trailer. Driver again courteous and very respectful and well mannered and clean cut all the way home excellent excellent driver I just wish that that lady would've at least work with me a little bit I had $100 bill in my wallet I would've gave that to him but she was so adamant at 165 so I found out that I need to have RV coverage in order for AAA to cover my trailer I have to look into that now once again clean trucksClean any driver driverWhich is too bad because I would've given them a five star review read more

Yesterday Jan 31st my husband and I had a blow out on the 118 Freeway. West bound between Stearns/Tapo Cyn. We were stuck on the Rt shoulder next to the slow lane-In a huge 4X4 that's really NO SHOULDER at all-the driver AAA sent out was from Swinks. His name was Heric, pronounced Eric I think. He was AMAZING and should be commended for going above and beyond the call of duty. He was very concerned for our safety and took great care of us and the truck. My niece had a very negative experience with a driver who visited the drive-thru at Jack in the Box. My niece just started a new job there in drive-thru and made a small mistake on the Swinks tow truck driver's meal. He got unreasonably angry at her yelling profanities at her and the restaurant. I'm certain the driver is probably good at hooking up cars to his truck but he's representing his company when he is driving a Swinks truck and wearing a Swinks uniform. The owners of Swinks should remind him of this. I live in Simi and have AAA and will specifically ask for another tow truck company because of this incidence. read more

Dino came to my apartment complex within about 15 minutes of my roadside assistance call. He filled my spare and changed my flat tire within minutes. He was fast, clean (remarkable given his dirty, hard, risky job!), professional, efficient and courteous. I was very satisfied with his service. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. They caused me so much stress. I recently had an accident & called AAA. They hooked me up with this towing company, which I will never use again. It was in the early evening on a Friday night. The lady that called me back had an attitude right off the bat. As the conversation progressed, she got more nasty to me & I ended the conversation. I was frantically trying to find someplace that they could park my car overnight & she never once said anything to me that they had a yard. I found it out when the tow truck driver picked up the car. After sending them a release notice so my insurance co could pick up the vehicle, they failed to notify their billing company that the car had been picked up within a few days, so about 2 weeks later I received a notice from the DMV that they had filed a lien sale against me. Seriously!!! I have been trying now for over a week to get this cleared up. Called the DMV & they told me to have Swink's fax them the notice & they will clear it & call me to let me know it was cleared. Since I didn't hear from the DMV by the next day I called them back. Needless to say Swink's didn't do their job again!! The DMV had not received anything. The DMV lady called them & got it cleared. How hard was it to put a notice in the fax machine & dial the number?? Swink's HORRIBLE HORRIBLE service. -10 in my book. read more

We had a car pic up from our house to a another location within simi valley, we were quoted a different price. it was a communication problem but all work out great. i am writing this to say that the driver mike was wonderful.when he told us the price different with the misunderstanding i myself wasn't to happy about it, an my new york attitudes kick in . we just move here two months ago, so it been crazy settling in. mike was wonderful handling my frustration very well, he was always very nice n polite, i later relies how i was and i am sorry, and i want to apologize to mike, The service is great, Very clean and professorial. I was driving an unfamiliar car, missed my guess about how far I had left before running out of gas, and got stuck. AAA sent Dean from Swinks Towing in Simi. The Swinks office was very helpful and kind on the phone when I spoke to them. Dean was knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. He put in enough gas to get me to the nearest station and advice on the best way to get there. And then when I was filling the tank I looked up and he was going by in his tow truck, looking over to make sure I got there. Couldn't ask for better service. read more

Picked up a roofing nail in my sidewall rear tire in the gas line at Costco. Called AAA. Literally, Swinks Towing was there in 5 mins, (I know .... got lucky on that one). Jeremy was the nicest tow operator I've ever dealt with. He had me changed out in 10 mins and back on the road with my spare. I locked me keys in my car during my lunch break. The first place I called quoted me $75 and 30-40 min wait (unfortunately I don't have AAA), so I said no thank you. I had called AAA to have my car towed and they had called Swink's to do the job. During the tow, my steering column broke - it already had something wrong with it, I really didn't need another problem. After talking to AAA and Tom from Swink's, Swink's picked up my car from the shop I had it towed to (to fix the initial problem) and they took it to one of their local shops who could fix the problem with my steering column. They could have put a used part in to fix the problem, but they went above and beyond to get the part (only available back east) from GM - overnight shipped - and worked quickly on my car so that I could have it back as soon as possible. Tom was very accommodating, reassured me that everything was going well, and explained to me what had happened when he dropped off my car. He even let me keep the broken part as a souvenir ;) - Swink's went above and beyond to fix my baby and get her back to me quickly. It's so wonderful to still find honest folks around here :) read more

I have never had such deplorable service in all my life. I had a AAA tow and the driver they sent was an older gentleman who was nice, but he ran the credit card i gave him twice and my bank incured the costs. When I recieved my statement i realized this extra charge and tried to call the company to get it taken off and get refunded the amount of money they owed me. The first person i spoke to was very understanding and said that i need to call back when the manager Michelle was in the office. So i had called back and spoke to Colleen (?) and she had told me that i needed to wait three day for the money to show up. When i looked again at my statement, 10 DAYS LATER, the money still was not there. I called back and asked again where the refund was and was very paitent on the phone with her while she looked and said it should go through by tomorrow and possibly another three days. Again i looked at my statement three days later and saw that only 1/3 of the money had been returned to me. So today when i called the office i spoke to Michelle and told her that only a fraction of my money is back. After a couple of minutes giving my info again she told me she would call me back. 20 mins later she called back and had said there was no such tow and how did they expect to get back the refund if i didnt give them the info. Well if Michelle had kept her notes from before she would have seen that i gave her the info she needed. Michelle and Colleen both preceded to scream at ME on the phone and tell me ITS MY FAULT that THEIR driver charged me twice and that i should be happy with the fraction of the money that was given back to me. This company is an embarassment to the AAA towing community and the women that work there and own this company are uncooth, tyranical, and extremely inconsiderate of what goes on with people who use them as a comapny through AAA. From now on I will tell AAA to not send out this comapny to me and if they were to tell me that this was the only place i would leave my car stranded there rather than deal with those two ladies and this company again. read more

Ok, so typically all AAA endorsed tow companies are good. But these guys literally showed 5 minutes after I called AAA and were genuinely nice guys. Of course they replaced my dead battery, but I appreciated the explaination of the systems (and why a failing battery would start the car, but cause it to idle rough) in laymen's terms without feeling like I was being talked down to becuase I'm a girl. Do not ever trust this company !!! They completely took advantage of my teenage daughter after she had an accident. The driver and the police were told to have her car taken to a local auto body repair shop, by myself, with our AAA membership card. But the driver loaded up her car and took it straight to their impound lot and started charging her a daily rate to store the smashed car. After 1 day I called and was told that wee now owed them almost $300 in fees. The driver had my daughter sign some papers, after I stepped over to check on the other drivers in the other car / just after she had been through a terrible accident and was in shock, so that everything would be in their favor. They set my daughter up and stole her money. They must do this all of the time, they must plan each job that they can to line their pockets with other peoples hard earned cash. AAA tows cars for free, AAA is the best !! But the thieves from Swinks should be thrown in jail for theft. $300 gone and never to be seen again. SWINKS SUCKS !!! SWINKS = THIEVES read more

Pulled into a DelTaco this morning for two minutes and when I got back in the car, it wouldn't start. Called AAA, and Swink's showed up. The driver, Rob, was sensational. He worked very hard to get me going and tried every trick up his sleeve, but the starter just wouldn't budge. So, he had to push the car uphill in the tiny parking lot to align his truck with it, get it on the truck and take it to the shop. Great job, Rob! read more

I called AAA and set up the tow the day before. Needed my disabled car taken to a body shop, Swink's came out over 30 minutes late and then complained. Swink's refused to tow my car. I guess they did not like me or my car. I called and talked to Justin the manager who would not tell me his name. I have only used my AAA gold card once this year. This company gets zero stars. I was in an accident and they were to bring the vehicle to my home. My son was there to assist me, he was very worried and the police were not being helpful with the traffic. My son did speak with the tow truck driver. I gave my address to the officer and we all decided that the vehicle would be towed to my home into the driveway. Well the tow truck driver got scared of my son and decided to take it to Swinks. The tow truck driver lied and stated the police told us to leave the scene. NO, The driver was putting the car on his truck and I asked if it was ok to leave. The officer said yes and I watched him walk over and give the address to the driver. But he was scared. Big Brave Tow Truck Driver was scared of me and my son. And yes. DO NOT LET THE POLICE CALL SWINKS FOR A TOW FOR YOU. SWINKS AND THE POLICE ARE IN CAHOOTS. I THINK THE POLICE GET A KICK BACK FROM SWINKS. THE DRIVER EVEN STATED IF I CALLED IT WOULD BE CHEAPER.
