The receptionist was pretty rude and didn't know the area at all but the actual guy who helped me (I believe his name was Andrew?) really knew his stuff. Very unprofessional! They were sent by AAA fo fix a flat tire. Surprisingly, they did not have air compressor working so they advised my daughter to drive to the gas station to fill the air as the "tire was just low on air". She did and the tire was destroyed. When I examined the tire, it had a big nail in it which cannot be missed. All they had to do was to replace it with the full-size spare. After having a fender bender which damaged our radiator a policeman stopped by and asked if we would like him to call a tow truck for us. We agreed and Swinks was called, Now we get the bill and the towing cost $195.00 to tow the car for (1) mile. When we called Swinks and asked how much they charge for towing a car (1) mile they said $75.00. So we asked why are you charging us $195.00. They said it is because the policeman call for you. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!! Swinks said that they have an agreed price for towing with the Simi Valley Police and it is $195.00. Someone should have told us that having a helping policeman call for us would almost triple the cost of the tow. I have had two service calls via AAA in the last month from them, and both times were terrific. The first time, my wife had a flat at home and they took care of her within 20 minutes of the call. The second time, I had two batteries on my truck failing and couldn't crank enough to start the engine. They showed up with 20 minutes, jumped the vehicle, and tested the batteries. I was given the printed readouts from the equipment (which I did understand by the way). From the readouts, I could see that they needed to be replaced. Justin quoted me $99 for each battery (Interstate 12-V 750 CCA), which was more than a fair price, especially since they had a 36-month free replacement and additional 36-month prorated replacement warrantee. The technician, Justin, was friendly, clean, and interested in providing me with information that I needed and wanted. read more

Jeremy is awesome! My car got stuck at on intersection on the Santa Susana Pass. Unable to push it and with cars zooming by- I called AAA. I was estimated an arruval time of 8:31am, they arrived at 8:25am. He immediately jumped into action, directing cars around us and telling me where to stand, so I would be safe from oncoming traffic. I have had bad luck cars in the past and dealt with tow truck companies who were terrible and made my stressful situation more terrible. Jeremy really was so above and beyond kind that it made me feel so much happier and honestly, by the time I got to my mechanic and called my Lyft, my mood was SO lifted! We were traveling 21 mi. and instead of an awkward silent drive - he made great conversation and made the 21 mi. drive so quick. He really seemed concerned about my situation and was overall just kind. Honestly Swink's - this guy Is awesome. Don't take him for granted. read more

I have been a member of Triple AAA for 30 plus years, Swinks towing usually services the towing of a car for AAA, members.A few months ago, my car was making a sound and I thought it would be best to call Triple AAA to tow my car to my near by mechanic. The Swinks towing service in Simi Valley was sent and left a mark that I will never forget! The driver was sexually inappropriate with comments that I could not believe was coming from his mouth. The driver later stated , "I have Jeeps ( my car) let me see where and what the sound is about" I was hopeful at first that perhaps this will avoid me having not to go to my mechanic (all awhile looking back as why I even allowed him but I was truly traumatized) The driver got into the car and rev the engine at an extremely high RPM which led to the engine blowing a lifter valve. I was beyond in shock - I called my husband who was in a very important meeting- he states "why did he not just tow the CAR like you wanted" After a few more sexual innuendos and stating he would buy my car "as is" for 500 dollars - I said tow the car to where my mechanic is and we will see. The Swinks driver reports he knew where the mechanic was located and I had a friend drive me to the mechanic because under no circumstances was I going to drive with this individual- half an hour passed and my car was not at the mechanic - only to find out that he was at the wrong location. This had become the worst nightmare ever, My mechanic went on to say the engine was probably repairable but the reviving up of the engine blew the engine up. I went from a simple request to tow my vehicle to an incident that I will never forget: I talk to friends who stated you have to let the company know. That was the start of another nightmare by contacting Swinks with many promises to have owner/ manager to call back to no avail. I was hoping to keep the complaint anonymous in fear of the driver but was repeatedly told Swinks needs more information. Finally after weeks of promise call backs I received a call from a manager who was pleasant but strictly did not handle this seriously - the driver continues to work for the company and Swinks just basically "slapped his hand"- Shame on you Swinks to keep this under wraps so it will not leave a mark on your company read more

Never, ever use Swinks Simi Valley Towing. As a paying customer, they charged me $85 for a tow but when they impounded my son's car on behalf of the City of Moorpark, they charged more than $250 for a (shorter) tow. Then they begin adding fees to this making it outrageously expensive to get the car out from impound. When I questioned some of these fees and practices their representative refused to answer any questions, but instead continuously asked me irrelevant questions to evade having to answer for their ridiculous practices and charges. When I said that I wouldn't answer their irrelevant questions, they called me a "deadbeat" and hung up. Really, all I was looking for was a refund of $82.00 for the last two days of "storage" that were incurred on Saturday and Sunday when they were not open and that I was charged because they weren't open until 6pm on Friday as I was informed by the Moorpark PD. read more

Called AAA tonight because I may or may not have left my lights on in my car and caused my battery to commit suicide. LOL The first gentleman from another company said that my battery needed replacing when he tested it. (He tested it stone cold dead.) I didn't have my debit card to replace it then so I drove home to get my card and placed another call to AAA to have someone sent over to replace the battery for me. (I drive for work, so not having a working battery is a serious no-no.) AAA sent JUSTIN from Swink's Towing. Justin tested my battery again and VOILA! He informed me that the read was normal and actually higher than one of the new batteries, thus my battery was good and in his opinion did not need replacing but that he was happy to do it should that be what I wanted. I was unsure about not replacing due to the encounter with the last driver. However, Justin explained that it is typical for my specific type of battery to lose power within 20 minutes if my lights were on that long. Point is, folks, it looks to me like Swink's is in the business of honesty and I am now a FOREVER FAN. When I need help in Simi from AAA, I will ALWAYS request Swink's and I will ALWAYS request Justin! Thanks for saving me $100 and thanks for making my night! read more

Having Jeremy assist me with Swinks was by far the best towing experience I've ever had in 15+ years of car issues. The friendliest and most mindful driver I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Jeremy took every painstaking precaution to ensure my vehicle was dealt with properly- my vehicle is low to the ground and quite frankly a pain in the ass to deal with and he still went above and beyond with caution and haste. I have been towed by and dealt with at least a dozen AAA tow companies and never had such a lovely experience. Jeremy was a godsend in my time of wanting to break my own windshield with a bat. I've had a lot of cars & trucks impounded here within the past year, and obviously those experiences are not very pleasant and extremely frustrating at times. I wanted to thank the staff here at Swinks Towing for being so patient, kind, understanding, and willing to go out of their way to help me when they had no obligation to. I don't understand why other people in these reviews expect sympathy from tow companies that do business like this when they are just doing their job and following policies and procedures. I've showed up to pick up a car here plenty of times and occasionally in a bad mood, but I still understand that this is business and they owe me no sympathy or validation for my choices & consequences. If I could give zero stars I would I called tripe A to have my empty work truck towed waited over 2 hours only to be told by lazy driver # one that my truck was too heavy to tow I said to him that the truck is empty and here are no tools on it just standard gmc work truck he refused and said that he wasn't going to tow it because it's was too heavy. I can only assume it was due to the truck being on Main Street and driver was too lazy to work and get it on his truck. Called for second opinion tow driver waited and other 30 min and nothing only to find out that same company had refused to send driver for second opinion and cancelled my tow without even letting me mean while I'm sitting out in 90 degree heat and never even received any kind of communication from Swinks so that is my experience with this lazy company. read more

Not sure about their service but based on the apparent allowed company policy, I give them a zero star rating. The company allows it employee's to "bring their trucks home", instead of leaving at the Swink's yard (less then 1 mile from residence), causing disruptions in "neighbors" street traffic and sleep disruptions in neighborhood children as the back up beeping noises emit from the trucks at random hours of the night. If the company does not follow the governing city's laws, I find it hard to believe they'll protect YOUR vehicle or property either. Be careful!!! read more

This is a tough one I was brought up to him at mom and dad always having AAA so of course they know they always make sure that I had it and now that my dad passed away it's just my mom and myself and now I make sure my mom has it the driver was awesome the operator of swings was horrible she was very insistent almost to the point where she is I felt like I was bothering her or she needed to get you she need to get off the phone you could deliver busy but that's not the feeling that I want to feel when I'm stuck on the side of The freeway I had my 20 month old daughter with me so they didn't get there fast I have to give them that the driver was very courteous and I had a trailer on the back of my car overheated and we're going to the city dump and they wanted $165 to tow my trailer where we were already going to I think that's pretty unreasonable and we're already going there it's 14 miles $165 for 14 miles is in sane so I left my trailer on the side freeway left a letter for the highway patrol please not impound my trailer. Driver again courteous and very respectful and well mannered and clean cut all the way home excellent excellent driver I just wish that that lady would've at least work with me a little bit I had $100 bill in my wallet I would've gave that to him but she was so adamant at 165 so I found out that I need to have RV coverage in order for AAA to cover my trailer I have to look into that now once again clean trucksClean any driver driverWhich is too bad because I would've given them a five star review read more

I have mixed reviews about this place, but mostly good. My son was involved in an accident (it was the other drivers fault) and the car had to be towed to Swinks till the Insurance adjuster took a look at it. Unfortunately it is a crappy insurance company (Infinity), they took forever to see the car and never called us and told us when they did. The car ended up staying there like 19 days and costing me $1025 to get my car back. Yikes. However at Swinks they were very friendly every time I needed to see the car or get something from it. Very polite, helpful and etc. just, expensive. So, I guess like everybody, they have their good days and bad days. BTW, still waiting to hear back from Infinity Insurance. Now there's a crappy bad business. read more

If I could give these people half a star I would. This is the absolute worse service I have ever gotten. My boyfriends car was towed, so we called them and they told us if we came before noon the next day it will be $200, and if we came after that there will be a $38 fee for a day holding. So please tell me why when we got there at 11:30 it was $278, the lady then processed to tell us that the computer doesn't even show that anyone called about the car and it was towed at 10 so we had to come before 10. Works customer service she was incredibly bitchy. I recommend going somewhere else else you like people being extremely rude to you who clearly don't know what they are doing. read more

My niece had a very negative experience with a driver who visited the drive-thru at Jack in the Box. My niece just started a new job there in drive-thru and made a small mistake on the Swinks tow truck driver's meal. He got unreasonably angry at her yelling profanities at her and the restaurant. I'm certain the driver is probably good at hooking up cars to his truck but he's representing his company when he is driving a Swinks truck and wearing a Swinks uniform. The owners of Swinks should remind him of this. I live in Simi and have AAA and will specifically ask for another tow truck company because of this incidence. read more

Yesterday Jan 31st my husband and I had a blow out on the 118 Freeway. West bound between Stearns/Tapo Cyn. We were stuck on the Rt shoulder next to the slow lane-In a huge 4X4 that's really NO SHOULDER at all-the driver AAA sent out was from Swinks. His name was Heric, pronounced Eric I think. He was AMAZING and should be commended for going above and beyond the call of duty. He was very concerned for our safety and took great care of us and the truck.
