I didn't pick up much blueberry, and the lavender was a bit overpowering for my preference. My only real complaint is the size of the cups. They give you a very generous scoop, but the cups don't seem large enough to hold it comfortably. My gelato was already dripping all over my hands before I even finished checking out. I appreciate the generous portions, but a slightly larger cup would make the experience much less messy and let you actually enjoy all that gelato without racing against the melt!

The issue with that is how do I know if I want one or two flavors until after I've tasted the gelato? I assume kids were coming in and tasting a bunch without buying anything, but then ask for a deposit or something. It doesn't make any sense to not be able to look at or taste the flavors before you have to order. I only tasted two flavors because they were making me so uncomfortable, and selected the second one I tasted--a dark chocolate flavor that wasn't honestly pretty darn excellent. So 5 stars for the actual taste (and their chocolates) and minus a star for the service.

Went with the Biscoff and pistachio gelato. Both were excellent, but the Biscoff is clearly the crowd favorite--I even asked the staff what people usually order, and they didn't hesitate. Not an afterthought coffee situation at all--actually good enough that I'd come back just for that alone. What really stood out though was the staff. Super friendly, all smiles, really personable. I think the guy who helped me was named Avery--shoutout to him for making the whole thing feel like a neighborhood spot instead of "just grab dessert and leave." Service was good and environment was clean but the gelato... The taste was still good enough to save it from a 2-star rating, but texturally, it just wasn't what I expected. For comparison, Patango Gelato is a true 10/10 -- perfectly smooth, stretchy, and consistently amazing. D'Ambrosio's isn't bad, just not the authentic gelato experience it's advertised to be.

I usually stop here after grabbing groceries. They share a space with The Apollo apartment building so you can sit in the apartment's lobby, which is beautifully decorated, or sit inside Dolcezza itself. The ceiling in this place is stunning.
